Summer 2011 Transfer Window - Part 3.

Should not be a reason for buying a player (to appease the fans) - should be buying a player because they can add quality to the squad.

Yeah, I agree with you on that point completely.

Problem is, a lot of fans are demanding answers for the lack of transfer activity so far and they feel forced to do something, or at least that's the impression I got. Don't take my word for it, like I said my friend doesn't know a lot of stuff, and neither do I.

Funnily enough, if Venkys wanted to stop all of the current chatter the best idea would be to sign a player...ANY player.

The questions remain.

What is the budget?

What money do they intend to spend?

Not sure any player would do now, Alan. Even moderate fans and those who have wanted them to be given a chance to prove the doubters wrong are beginning to get restless. a week or two ago a decent signing would have calmed everyone down and we would have felt that rebuilding had begun. Now we will feel cheated unless the player we sign is bought for real cash - I don't mean a marquee/expensive signing but nor will a real cheapo or a freebie do. Our owners have had their chances and blown most of them.

Far more likely, he knows he couldn't get fit regularly, and therefore will never accept an appearance based contract.

Not true - his agent has already gone public on how that's what he is looking for but as yet hasn't had any offers

Tony Warner's imminent ... relax, everyone!

From Piatti, etc. to Warner.....

Part of a Rovers supporters life.

But I am holding out great hope fir this defender, even though we are paying more for him, he could be the next Samba.

When did Blackburn get posh enough to have a Starbucks??

To be fair, there is a Starbucks in Compton. I am sure in downtown Baghdad there is a Starbucks and it was probably open serving M1A1's through the drivethru during pacification.

Has the manager story hit the press yet (not our manager by the way)

Oh yeah, weren't you the one who said we would be signing Onuoha in 48 hours 72 hours ago? What happened to that piece of news if you don't mind me asking?

If you don't wish to reply, that's fine too. Sorry for pestering you about it.

I'm sure you were just being facetious, but it doesn't hurt to consider several people for one position to be filled. It's not like we've bought anybody at all there yet.

the transfer should still go threw, the only thing holding it up is the price but there not far away in valuation, rovers are trying to get the price down with add on's and if you wondering how I know, its nothing to do with inside information from rovers, its someone I know who works on behalf of man city, I didn't have to say anything but I think rover's fans need some good news right now

I hope you are right, but I certainly agree with your last statement. Yeah, we need some good news right now.

Thanks for providing that. Even if it does turn out to be a failure, at least you told us something uplifting. I don't doubt you are telling the truth as you are hearing it, but like Alan Nixon said, things can go horribly wrong in the space of a few hours.

But here's to hoping you're right! :D

Please give my regards to John Williams and ask him to through in another player or two for his old club Rovers.

I'd like a PM about the manager too please. I'm not a gambler, just curious.

I really can't keep up with the news. Every time I log on, something crazy seems to be happening. The latest is now the Rao's may have had enough and we have no money again. I can't keep up and don't know what to believe any more. However, I've never heard of that Monaco defender so I'll hold judgement if he signs. He may be good despite being billed as a French Titus Bramble last night.

Not sure if I prefer this madness or the boredom and slow decline under the Trust to be honest.
