we should have moved for Cisse last week and got him sign up by now!

rovers could regret not going for him

Honestly, Cisse would have been a huge gamble. Especially if his wages demands were 75-80K per week. But now it seems mentioning Cisse and other big names was just nonsense. Roberts will still be number one striker. Not funny. Actually it kind of is.

We need to get Kalinic in the team if we are not signing a striker.

It's a bit hard to keep a cool head with all of the stuff going on, but a couple of points:

CISSE...is way too expensive with the fee and the wages...NOBODY is buying him just now...Schalke story does not add up.

VUCINIC...Roma trying to get rid, price absolutely stupid...no blame attached for not going for him.

SALES...there are efforts being made to shift a few...easier said than done.

TARGETS...there is a new striker being looked into...but he is closer to the Benjani bracket than a Cisse or a Vucinic.

Whether you have to sell someone to even get this guy - or Mongongu - is what really interests me just now.

the life of being rovers fan, 2 weeks ago 45-50 mill pound being spent on top names like cisse and piatto, then its down to 26 mill, so were looking at players like Robbie keane and onuoha, and now we don't have any cash and the owners look like selling up, every other team are making there moves now and where losing out, we have become a joke, we don't get this sorted out we could have a long hard season, but you never know kean could work a miracle with what we got like coyle did last season with Bolton

So we've gone from possibly having a huge transfer budget to potentially having to sell to buy? Oh dear.

1 goal per 15 games, we definitely need to get him in the team...

Invest or relegation awaits.

You know, no matter what way you try to twist the stats, that simply isn't anywhere near true. Unless you intentionally pick out 15 specific games where he only got one goal. But let's not allow facts to get in the way of slagging off our top scorer from last season eh?

im glad it interests you. as a fan i doubt anyone here finds it interesting at all. i like to hear what you have to say but too much recently has been very cryptic and ends up starting mass hysteria on here. its only through this website that we hear all this doom and gloom and no other journo is picking up on it. last few weeks you have been talking about how rich we are and now your saying that we may have nothing even after the sale of jones

obviously we are in some deep trouble if what yourself and a few others in the know are dropping clues on. we could be worse of than portsmouth if things are going in the direction that your implying

This just keeps getting worse. If what you're saying is true, this is shaping up to be the worst summer window in many, many years. Not replacing Jones (both of them) is criminal. Not injecting serious cash into a club that was nearly relegated last season, and whose top scorer finished on 5 goals, is effin criminal. Relegation would cost much more than tying up three or four good players this window. Lost for words right now.

Do you think things are that bad now at Rovers. Has somebody fleeced venkys out of their savings - agents perhaps.

You appear to be alluding to something Nicko. Is the problem Venkys or the agents or others not yet named?

why has the 16 million pounds gone from the Jones transfer?

i reckon the owners have kept it and just give us the 5 million pounds they promise!

if the owners have kept it then I say VENKYS OUT!!! :angry2::angry2:

im not sure they can just pocket the money. its the company that owns the money not the owners. i had it explained to me once years ago by a guy that stared his own business and he did a big deal but it didnt make him any richer. but he could up his wages to what he wanted. not sure exactly how it works

If I knew EXACTLY why the owners went from reaching for the stars to the current state in a couple of weeks I would be happy to tell you.

I'm not the only one around here to know that the whole picture has changed in a hurry.

Nobody knows the precise reasons, although a few factors have been mentioned.

I said a week or so back that there was something bigger going on behind the scenes - and that is still the case.
