I wouldn't be worried about financial ruin or anything like that.

I would be disappointed that the chance to kick on is being fluffed by foolishness.

You are in a position to strengthen and take advantage of skint rivals in your mid-table range.

You are blowing that. For sure.

On the money to spend front...it is a matter of record that there was to be £5 million per window, some of which could be brought forward.

Add to that the Jones sale money - which is a guaranteed sum with HALF paid immediiately - and you should have a war chest at £26 million [plus].

On top of that, if you moved out some of the crap, you would have more.

Spending between £45 and £50 million on players was a realistic aim when you put the good lists together.

To go from that to where you are today is beyond strange.

There is one player for sale just now at a figure so ridiculously high that I laughed out loud when I heard it. There are people running around at your club just now who are mental.

You say half the Jones money, when is the rest due?, surely not spread over his contract term.

This makes it all the more important that the likes of Formica and Rochina come good. And how badly do we need Hoilett to sign that contract!

Actually, they probably didn't re-sign Benji because they can't afford him!! haha

i think now would be a good time for the club to come forward via one of the Media, in the UK, preferably the LT to demonstrate theirs, and the clubs intentions and I think that would help this underlying sense of uneasiness (or potentially add to it)

It would be good to hear that we do have money, we are goign to invest, similarly, if we don`t have money and are not going to invest, then I would prefer to know upfront as a supporter and then we can move on and like it and lump it, or stop going.

There is a foreign striker who was about to join a club yesterday but pulled out because he heard there was a chance of joining Rovers.

I know that part is 100 per cent right because my mate works for the club he was about to join.

It turns out he is fancied by the management staff.

Once again - and I hate to repeat myself - it will come down to whether you can afford the fee...and how much is currently available.

It pains the life out of me to be chasing stories, knowing that there is every chance something will go wrong because of the current situation.

Could it be Mevlut Erdinc from PSG?

WHO????, i suppose i should say that about every rovers signing from now on!

Did you know who Cisse, Piatti, Miranda and Vivunic were before we were linked to them?

I admit I didn't. Ha ha ha ha...because I only watch the Barclays Premiership League...the cause of my ignorance of players from other European leagues.

A,B or C list quality

I don't know enough about the guy. Done well lately, before that mixed. Quite expensive, but what's new?

You say half the Jones money, when is the rest due?, surely not spread over his contract term.

It is standard practice for half of a fee between Premier League clubs to be paid up front and the rest within a year.

Nothing to worry about on that front.

Mrs D: She said: “We are in search of some good strikers and defenders and that will be finalised in the next two weeks. We are not running behind big names. Our selection would be a proper mix of young talent and senior players.”

This forum is worse than when my girlfriend get together with her friends and gossip. You people need to relax and not refresh this thread every 5 minutes.

1 goal per 15 games, we definitely need to get him in the team...

Invest or relegation awaits.

Hardly ever gets played up front with a partner and when he is on his own never seems to get any support. Not to mention doesn't start more than 3 games in a row. The guy has talent. If Kean intends to play hoilett in behind a striker this season then I think selling Niko would be stupid. imean its not like we need the money...or do we? lol

well if were actively looking for players like you say nicko why would they be selling up, maybe they have just put up a brick wall since everything that's been going on lately about how much money they have for players, maybe slowly they are learning the hard way, it sometimes best to keep your mouth shut, does this player play in the prem and is he young or in his thirty's ?

I'm tempted to go into a Venkys Xprs and order £50's worth of food only when it arrives I'll pull out a fiver and say "sorry, but in the time it took you to get my order together I have consulted with my brother, sister and my advisors and they have told me I only have £5 to spend"

truly amazing post

You might as well tell us all now Nicko, as this time tomorrow the deal will collapse and some other player no-one has heard of will be the target. I can't keep up.

I know where you are coming from.

what do you mean rocky wont be coming back? do you know for sure? and what reason?

There are two clubs trying to sign him. Both seem daft enough to pay good money.

Full story in paper [hopefully].

The striker is fancied by the management. Known to them.

I don't know at what stage it is with the 'committee.'

That's the way things are just now.

Looks like we're neglecting the middle of the pitch again....
