I may get flamed for this, but a better squad player than DJ Campbell at £1.25m? 13 goals last season in the top flight.

I do see you're point. Although i do think that was a strong case for right player for the right club.

I agree DJ would be a good addition.

I'm sure Balaji Rao will be happy with that one as well. The gold teeth will go down well with our Bling King! ;)

The place will be a sad place without nicko its already starting to get depressing with the recent surge of newbies who the majority are coming across as pricks.

He can't handle having a single post unapproved so how many toys do you think would be thrown if he got a warning?

Not for me, it was a one off season playing in a very attacking team.

You may well be right, but I think I'd prefer to take a cheap punt on a player that has experienced and done it than an expensive punt on a guy who has done well in the Danish league but is otherwise an unknown quantity.

Remember, we're talking about a squad player here.

i agree pick, i said the same thing on the nicko thread, they come on here spouting their mouths off, without the first bit of knowledge of what nicko has given to this site. T*ssers. Without his inside info, we wont have half as much to discuss or as many arguements one way or the other (in a freindly banter way) mods can you not contact his IM and ask him to come back, lol.

FCK wanted 75 million Danish kroner when there was talk of Al Hilal.

Unless I am totally wrong, 75mil Danish is approximately €10m. And what's that, £9m?!

So 77 pages into the Summer 2011 Transfer Window Part 3 and lets see, we've bought f all for the 1st team and sold out best prospect who will become an England international and possible future captain.

I know it's a transfer window but are we just window shopping? Let go into the shop and buy someone for gods sake!

No shirt sponsor, our manager faces drink driving charges but at least we have a new mascot hey!

Perhaps its not the transfer fees which are the problem but the wage bill? We need to sell to make room on the wage bill, or to reduce it to a sustainable level? I imagine this may be an issue, despite JW's balancing, with the "improved" deals Kean gave out in January and the new Hoilett deal?

Does this guy Nicko thinks he is Elvis or something??? Obviously a member on this board has to follow the same rules as everyone else.

I enjoyed reading his posts because there "seemed" to be substance to them, but the last couple of weeks I havent really enjoyed being a Blackburn fan. My heart rate has gone up without reason on many occasions. First it was Piatti. YAYYYYY. Then it was Miranda. YAYYYY. Then it was Witsel. YAAAAY. Then it was NDoye. Hmmmmm. Then it was some guy from Bologna. Hmmmm...

As much as I generally enjoy the summer transfermonths I would probably have preferred not knowing anything over the last 2-3 weeks

the part i liked also was the spending spree part, what is a spending spree to the shmenkys? 4.1 million? Oh the joys of next season, cant wait till we see jason roberts and n' doye hitting the side netting and our defence going missing. Why the hell is john jensen recommending players? he doesnt know sh*t about football at the highest level. He lived his whole career off one goal in 1992 of course he is going to recommend players in his homeland, just trying to promote danish football, which no offence to any danes on here, is sh*te.

Jensen one of the worst players to wear an Arsenal shirt in the last 20 years....

oh how I'm not looking forward to next season at the moment....PJ gone ( wheres the money ) JJ not coming back , Samba on his way ??? Hoilet not yet signed , season ticket sales down , no shirt sponsor , no structure whatsoever in the club...need I go on...oh are any decent signings imminent ???? that at the moment is looking highly unlikely.. the 4/1 @ corals for the drop is looking inviting :wacko:

Even if Jensen is one of the worst players to wear Arsenal shirt, then you could be a good coach ! But all the other things you write i totally agrre with you. Come on just sign one og two players and show us the new sponsor and new shirt !!

I think new signings are imminent, surely there is players in talks involving agents...I think there will be moves when Keene and his squad returns at the end of the week. All the players are back at Brockhall on monday. My tip is to take a few days off from the messageboard and return to next week when the action is.

Jensen was a good player. He was outstanding in the Euro92 championships in Sweden scoring a lovely goal in the final against Germany.

Cheer up it could be worse :)

Only problem is that rubbish disposal is very often difficult and expensive, particularly where the items are contaminated.

If Nicko is correct, we have gone in the space of two weeks from having about £50m to spend, to about £26m to nowt and we now have to sell first !!!

Unfortunately, I suspect that he may well be right.

We are in deep, deep trouble.

In fairness, most people are amazed by the ridiculous values attached to the bulk of players in this window. Leading up to summer most of us could have picked 3 or 4 good players and priced them at under £26 million. It now seems that you need to add another £10mil onto that total.

As frustrated as I am at the lack of signings, if we actually manage to sell some of the dross, it might well give us the extra money to sign quality, rather than some of the unknown players banded about at the moment. As well as balance out the wage structure to accomodate new signings.
