I would add Andrews to that list. But the problem is who wants them...

even taking in consideration the 5 players you think we need, that would be £10 million each, if we had £50 million.

Cisse, so far a one season wonder, costs 13 million. So, less money for other players.

If we want a star striker, we will have to spend 15 to 20 million £.

So, if we want all those players, we have to be realistic and go for the best deal possible.

That's why I would go for Shane Long. would cost about 8 million pounds. had a excellent season last season in Championship and is still young.

If we want to buy a goalscorer then it will cost between 10 to 15 million pounds. with another striker like Keane or RSC or even Carew who is available on a free.

rather have Carew than Benjani anyway ;)

No, we should do like Malaga, spend like crazy and see what happens.

Maybe be like Leeds or Portsmouth.

The thing is that a team has to be built. Spending big on players doesn't make a good team.

And we have to look to the future and not just buy like crazy...

Malaga have a filthy rich owner. Only if..........

Let's see the end results of their transfer madness.

Real Madrid and Barcelona won't be easy to beat...

Venkys want a minimum of top ten position they need to pay for a quality striker on top of a gamble like N'Doye

Problem is, I think that if Venky's were to do this they won't be taking the risk on a player who doesn't have EPL experience. I really cannot see them going into the 10M+ bracket unless they know the player is capable at the level we need. That then brings another issue, what sort of striker are we going to get with EPL experience for that sort of money?

Lots of talk on Twitter that we have bid £4m for Forest's Lewis McGugan, quality player imo

First post here so be gentle

How do you build a team without an experienced backroom & board?

As Mrs Desai says you must get 9 out of 10 decisions right in business

If we are to progress this summer they must make the right decisions, buying a striker for £6 million to lead the line is a gamble!!

If that is a backup striker then fine but we NEED someone proven!!

Don't know the player but his stats last year are not bad:

40 games, 13 goals, 15 assists

Did I write anywhere that the star striker would cost that!?!?!

But, if you want a star striker, it will take a lot of money, probably around £20 million.

So, in order to do that, other players coming in must be cheaper.

And in football, hardly anyone gets 9 of 10 transfers right. (the kind of business we are talking now)

He's a cracking player and would be well worth the money, great from set pieces and can actually score from outside the box. Anytime I've seen Forest he has been by far their stand-out player

Great season he had. Never seen him but his stats last season are very good. Worth a gamble but probably for less...

No you did not say it would cost £6million but N'Doye was quoted as being £6 million ......& before you ask, no you didnt suggest N'Doye, he is just the latest rumor!!

I dont want a big name star striker, I want a goalscorer. Yes, it will cost money but apparently we have £26million!!

The point is, if our main striker is going to be a £6million buy from the belgian league we will struggle to get into the top 10 nevermind challenge for Europe which is the goal of our new owners & manager!!

What does everyone think about our alleged £9m bid for McCarthy at Wigan then?

Personally, I was impressed with him last season.

I only read that Wigan finds the bid insulting lol

all ready been denied , cant see us paying that much cash for a player , but I could be wrong

Ok, a goalscorer it is.

If we have £26 million, at least half of it would be spent in that goalscorer.

That would leave £13 million for a centre half, a left back, a second striker and one or two midfielders. Care to do the maths?!??!

Posted

No, i dont care to do the math!!

It is not my job to do so & i am not the one telling everyone that we are going to get into the top 4 in the next few years!!

I have no problem with us spending £6 or 7million on a striker,

just dont tell us we are aiming for Europe etc & with a £6million striker

If they buy someone like N'Doye, or equivalent, that is exactly what Venkeys are doing!!

The striker played and scored three goals in the CL this season..

MathS for god's sake.

Maths is British spelling, math is American spelling. Both are correct, it just depends which part of the world you come from.

the only free transfer I would be looking at is reo coker, if we cant jones , dont see why reo coker isn't being tracked, it would free up cash for other parts of the team that need looked at

Good point he is one of the best free transfers out there I think

Now that would be a good signing. Sounds too sensible though so it's probably not true.

man, this saga just gets more and more ridiculous. The latest Rao statement talks about how his son will be on the board when he turns 21. ay ay ay
