Summer 2011 Transfer Window - Part 3.

HemelRover

The up coming season will be a struggle whether we sign him or not. I'm just looking forward to what is going to be our tenth concecutive season in the top flight rather than get my knickers in a twist about who we sign, when we sign them and if they will make the grade or not.

Can only begin to look forward to it, once we know who is in place to put on the famous blue and white jersey and do the business of winning football games.

Pretty sad how some people value a non Rovers journo more than a place for the fans to talk all things Rovers. Just out of interest how often was he right as opposed to wrong.

Everything to do with the takeover was spot on, previous transfers linked to Rovers were correct too, recently the info has not checked out but as Kamy has confirmed the landscape has been changing at pace.

The ironic thing is that Kamy/Wen/Glenn have started a thread about 'Venkys could be selling', yet Nicko has been castigated for scaremongering- go figure

still think santa cruz will be a with rovers next season, he on international duty in the copa america right now so that's why its gone quiet on that front, and watching him he has looked rather sharp and free of injuries for once lol

Would be really pleased if the rumour if the Forest lad materialised, he looks a talent, scores some cracking goals as well.

I agree that is the type of signing we should be looking at along with the Congolese (is that right) lad.

I would sign him along as we sign somebody with pace up front like Long, Cisse, Erdinc, etc

he has look very good in the Copa America.

Can't believe we didn't approach John Arne Riise, former left back of Liverpool, who has been a regular at Roma. He is now heading to Fulham for around £2-3 million.

Riise's a good player, but he's 30 years old, probably on daft wages, and is a left back. I wouldn't mind paying huge wages to someone who can regularly put the ball in the back of the net, but Riise is the type of player we should probably avoid. You can afford a few players like him on a team like ours, but we already have too many of them.

The article from the link a few pages back is interesting... our policies have changed???

I think they needed to, there's no point chasing pipe dreams, we need to be realistic about the players we pursue & spend the right money.

The lad from Copenhagen is interesting, they are a good side, with a good team ethic they also play good football & have a good manager. He seems to be scoring for fun over there and he's at the right age.

Same goes for the lad from Forest, I've only seen bits of him on telly, but again I think he's the right kind of player to be looking at.

I'm most excited about Cedric Mongongu though... I believe that he will develop into a top player, and at £2.5m, it's a steal!!!

There's time yet... this window is far from over, in fact it's only just begun!!!

Anyway I've tried trawling through the last million pages, but I can't seem to find out what's happened to Nicko, will someone reply to this or PM me coz I'm nosey like that, and I have enjoyed his posts over recent years!!!???

Cheers in advance, Dan!!!

Why is it even unproven only half decent players are commanding ££50k a week it's just silly. Rather spend the money on the Forest lad as he wouldn't demand much.

Happy to see Niko go as long as the money is used.

Getting RSC in at Rovers on a cheap deal (remember JW is working at City for 6mths to shift 'deadwood') and a full pre-season could be a good shout (yes, granted he is at the Copa America at present). Agree with other posters who said that if RSC is signed then he would have to be backed with another striker signing who has pace

Who knows who we will end-up with though...... JR and Benjani our star strikers for next season?

Totally agree with everything you say.

£50K + £8.5m transfer fee for N'Doye just shows how crazy the market has become. We should be all over the U17 World Cup signing up and coming youngsters, as well as the U20 World Cup later this summer.

Kean has been trying to convince our key players to stay and be part of the 'project'. I wonder what Samba thinks now, if he's even noticing that we've gone from A or B calibre players to list C.

Stopp selling before bringing in some much needed reinforcements, how many strikers do we have left if Kalinic leaves?

it seams to me kean knows who he wants now and his making his moves, next week on his return from Austria is when I think more will happen, looks to me they are going out agreeing fee's with the player's they want and then signing them when kean returns from austria, things are slowly looking brighter, i prefer these kind of players than the money grabbing players who just want to come for the big pay day

at 8.5 million pounds is way TOO much to buy him for that.

Long and Erdinc would only cost 7 million to 8 million pounds and are younger and play in a better leagues.

I reckon the Championship is a better standard than the Danish League. (no offence to any people from Denmark)

why have we not made a bid for Reo-Coker yet. would be the ideal replacement for JJ and wouldn't cost a transfer fee.
