would you pay 13m and then 70k per week for cisse! ?? huge talent, but a huge risk, at those figures. maybe the owners are right to exercise caution, if that's what they are doing.

I can understand caution & I agree that we shouldnt pay over the odds but how much did Piatti go for, how are Benfica getting Witsel for?

These are players that, according to Nicko, would have come here!!

If Valencia & Benfica are willing to pay the money, why arent we??

yes.. i understand that,, :D but if people say SKean has only given anderson a chance cos he's jerome's son, then maybe the genius sam was doing the same thing!

hell.. we had julio santa cruz here.. for no other reason than he was roque's brother.. there wasnt an outcry about that!

football is rife with players who only got their chance cos their relative was a pro or had connections in the game.

anton ferdinand.. any1! alex bruce, bradley wright phillips.. i could go on!

therefore, IMO the signing of miles cannot be used as another way to bash SK and the owners.

Why can't it?

Myles Anderosn (who couldn't get a game at Aberdeen or Leyton Orient) and was sent packing after a trial last summer, has now been given a full time contract- a deal that was set up just as his DAD got his feet under the table at BRFC.

Julio was wrong as well- but it was to make Roque (our star player) happy, Myles is what, to make a football agent in cahoots with the manager and owners happy?

I know you are WUM-ing as per usual zac, but I've bitten anyway.

I'm not using it to bash Kean or Venkys.

But we sent him packing when Allardyce was in charge and we had no links to Jerome Andersen. He would have been sent packing for footballing reasons.

Now we have links and he's brought back on a permanent deal.

WASNT SAYING YOU WERE BASHING ANY1.. JUST A GENERAL COMMENT FOR THOSE THAT HAVE AND ARE DOING!

JSC was different, we brought him here to keep Rocky, who at the time was scoring goals for fun.

OR EXACTLY THE SAME.. IT WAS A FAVOUR.. AS IN THE WORST CASE SCENARIO.. ANDERSON LOOKS LIKE!

£10m for J Jones is insane, just like the wages cisse was asking for. At the moment i rather we sign less profile players, with the costs involved in these. We only just cover the costs now, so to add the stupid wages to that, it's heading for trouble.

Valencia and Benfica to Blackburn is a huge difference including Income, of course they can afford to get them compared to us.

I think my post made it clear.. football is rife with favours and old pals acts.. every club does it.. a favour is a favour.. the reasons for doing them makes little difference!

i wasnt trying to get any1 to bite, dont see how you could read that into my post.

i dont know what WHUMING is either.

Signing JSC at least gave us some benefit, trying to keep hold of Rocky.

What does signing JA's son do for us? Not much

It is sad how pathetically laughable this particular topic is whilst we are in the state that we are.

I'm desperately waiting for change to come. I just can't see it on the horizon.

chucking your pennys worth in again to stir everyone up and then go missing, if you dont have anything constructive to say with facts maybe its best you keep your mouth shut cause your boring me now

I've done some fishing and i can only find one article that links Nzonzi to those 2 clubs and it about 2 lines long. I think Paul Plunkett should take some stick for stirring the fans up if this turns out be rubbish... Which it probably is.

My point is we need a Witsel type player & though we may not need Piatti as much he looks like a good investment!!

Both players are touted at reasonable prices, reports today suggest Benfica offered E8million for Witsel & the same was suggested for Piatti though his fee was undisclosed

You may not believe Nicko but I do when he said both Players are achievable by Blackburn but we have been told that the purchases have failed due to the asking price??

I do not think £6 million each for two 22 year old with great potential is too much especially when the owners said we have money to spend!!

Im all for caution but I thought Venkys model was to invest in talented youth?

miles' signing has done nothing for us yet. i expect him to be useless (from what ive heard about him) so if he's any better than useless, its a bonus!

JSC looked like he'd never seen a football, whenever i saw him play for the reserves.

again.. a favour is a favour, makes little difference as to reasons.

Please go away. It is your sort who are ruining this forum for the established members.

Why the surprise about the price for J.Jones?

Do you not remember this?

Jones impresses boss on Blackburn Rovers debut

What an idiotic thing for Kean to say when you have a player on loan who you may want to purchase them at the end of the season. You only say stuff like that about players you own and want to scare off potential bidders.

Good find RVR.

Well, before you blast the Venkys, take the following into consideration:

Told by who that the purchases have failed due to the asking price? By the same source that linked us to them?

1: I stand by my claim that Alan Nixon is trustworthy and honest, but you must realize that he is not 100% right on everything he says. Just because he linked us to a player doesn't mean we are definitely going for that player, and there might be other issues that the club has other than asking price. I think it's fine if you believe Nicko, but do keep in mind he's not infallible and will make mistakes as all humans do.

2: Venkys have not officially come out and say we are going for them. The only thing linking us to them are media reports. It's fine if you think media reports are more trustworthy than Venkys, though.

Bear in mind I could be wrong, and I am not arguing that Venkys should let them go. I would be happier if they bought Piatti and Wistel but I'm not about to jump into conclusions here based solely on what I heard from Alan Nixon and the media. I am in no way saying that they are not to be trusted, but I think it's best to take everything we hear with a pinch of salt.

Yes, its a pointless favour, but signing JSC at least had a point.

I wouldn't even call signing JSC a favour, more like a desperation act to keep rocky.

So, time marches on and we still have not made any significant moves in the transfer market.

In the meantime from the squad that finished last season we have lost P Jones and are unlikely to sign J Jones.

Which means we have to have to make 2 very good signings and probably spend a large sum of money just to stand still.

We're all going to Burnley in a handcart (copyright R Littlejohn).

I hadn't thought of it like that. Quite scary when put into that context. We don't even have Santa Cruz and Mame Diouf as back up.
