  1. 1. Are you happy with the new sponsors

    • Delighted!
    • I'd have prefered a commercial sponsor, but this is a great alternative
    • Simply don't care
    • Waste a valuable income
    • No objection to charity, do object to the Princes Trust
    • Other (Please Explain)

Highly doubtful, not only do we have a very low amount of Muslim fans, but also it's not as if someone buying the kit endorces beer. Anybody buying the kit supports Blackburn Rovers, there's no direct link between cobra/kingfisher and the general fan.

Also I doubt any sponsor would be happy knowing that fans would practically get the choice of whether they want the sponsor on the kit or not when they buy it.

Is there going to be a Muslim version, without the sponsor. This is not a joke and was asked before I think in this thread.

You'd imagine that owing to the heritage of the owners, a decent sized population of Blackburn folk and where they are trying to market Rovers (Asia), that they'd be daft not to do. I don't know how a sponsor company would feel about that though.

both shirts look great.

Hopefully the sponsor logo, when the official shirts comes out, will be a bit further down. That way our beatifull club badge doesnt get strangled by the bigger sponsor logo.

Its apparently a cold day in hell, as i agree with zaccalus  , regarding the green cobra colour. Wouldnt mind if the green colour was brighter.

excellent news if we have a sponsor line up, hopefully a small sign of venky´s getting their act togheter.

The ignorance of some people is shocking. Really no excuse. Just because they are brown does not mean they are Muslim. Hinduism is by far the largest religion in India and they have no cultural rejection of alcohol.

Interestingly, I've several times dismissed Cobra as a sponsor as it isn't a recognised brand in India, but I just stumbled across a press release from only a few days ago saying Molson Coors (who own the brand) are about to starting brewing / marketing Cobra (predominantly a British brand) in India.

Could someone mock-up those onto our new strip? its got more red trim than last years, so possibly Kingfisher would look better. Cobra makes more sense because they are bigger in the UK and it sounds like they want to expand into India.

Is this not a classic case of us being blinded by the fact that Rovers have Indian owners? Rovers are on PayTV in India and are of course way down the food chain compared to the big teams. Until we have an Indian player or two(hopefully not soon as they are terrible) that will not change.

Venkys in the past have sponsored Indian teams in their domestic T20 cricket matches which have been huge over there. If I remember correctly a team which was run by Bollywood legend Salman Khan aka an Indian Brad Pitt had Venkys as their sponsor. Some of the players for this Venkys sponsored team play for the Indian cricket team. The Indian cricket team are in England for a few months. Time to get the likes of Sachin and co donning Rovers kits!

The penny has finally dropped for me - now I get your user name!!!

Very smart - it's not a geographical description but what you chose to do in your leisure time

Now off you go and bang kok...

My answer is factually correct it may not be the answer you were looking for but never mind thanks for your polite response

Sorry if someone has already spotted this but it seems a sponsor free version of the new kit is being offered for sale via a Hong Kong website

My link (it takes a while for the link to load)

My rough calculations get the price to about £36 or £49 including delivery

Since the shirt is not out yet this bound to be fake.

Home kit looks good. Sorry J*B if Cobra is to be our new sponsor, then the white outline will stay I would imagine!

As for the yellow away kit, you could put a full frontal of Rosie Huntington-Whiteley on there and it will still look pants!

Cobra isn't even an Indian beer (at least I didn't think it was)

Mr Kingfisher is the Indian Richard Branson. He has his own Airline (funnily enough Kingfisher Airlines), and owns one of the biggest IPL teams as well. Fingers in many pies, and if he wanted to sponsor a Prem team it probably wouldn't be us. (Although using the Airline could get around any 'no alochol' sponsor issues I suppose).
