  1. 1. Are you happy with the new sponsors

    • Delighted!
    • I'd have prefered a commercial sponsor, but this is a great alternative
    • Simply don't care
    • Waste a valuable income
    • No objection to charity, do object to the Princes Trust

I imagine many will chastise Venkys for missing out on cash, the same people who had we signed a huge deal would be complaining that the money would be going into Venkys pockets.

Yeah but if you look at his Twitter.. an hour ago he tweeted to someone saying Rovers still haven't found a sponsor.

So unless he suddenly got new info I'd suggest it's not sponsor related that tweet.

If you mean his "No" response to Johnny_Clayton, that was in reply to his Bentley question, Johnny_Clayton John Clayton

@CryerRovers I have heard rumours they are going to make a £7m move for Bentley. Is this true?

I saw it earlier when it was in minutes rather than hours

It wasn't Radio Lancs fault. They couldn't afford the royalty that Rovers demanded from them to broadcast their matches.

Despite the fact that the price was the same that they'd been willing to pay previous seasons (there was no increase).

Now, whether Radio Lancashire's hands were tied further up the chain or took a chance that Rovers would accept significantly less rather than have no coverage, is anyone's guess.

I'm currently trying to find out (legitimately, legally and I'll name my source) what they paid, but it may take some time (God Bless the BBC and the FOA ;) ).

My speculation was that it was part of the BBC's cut backs-Radio 5 seemed to cover fewer matches last season.

Charities don't usually sponsor any Company.

If it is correct then Venkys will most likely be supporting the Prince's Trust, and if that is the case then the

folk who have vilified Venkys will have the smug smirks wiped off their faces. ;)

I have vilified Venkys. On the other hand, if they have chosen to support an English charity my respect for them would increase significantly.

Conditioned upon them getting a top drawer striker and defender. :)

I don't know whether or not this is correct, so don't shoot the messenger!

But I have just heard off a mate that we haven't got a sponsor for this season and we are giving it away to a charity!

It seems that my mate may have been correct after all, thats a first for him.

Does this mean that I now have a "source"?!:P
