  1. 1. Are you happy with the new sponsors

    • Delighted!
    • I'd have prefered a commercial sponsor, but this is a great alternative
    • Simply don't care
    • Waste a valuable income
    • No objection to charity, do object to the Princes Trust
    • Other (Please Explain)

My only question is. If things are as bad as "the people in the know" why is Niko not writing about it, why are the LET not chasing this as its an excellent story.

I've made this point on numerous occasions over the last six months. IF there is a big story at Ewood then Alan Nixon, who is widely acknowledged as being very well connected at Rovers, will know precisely what that story is. If Nixon us not writing the story it tells us one of three things:

There is no scandalous story OR there are more papers to be sold and money to be made from random transfer gossip OR the writer is too close to the source and will not bite the hand that feeds him.

I'll leave people to make there own judgement on which may be correct. It is noticeable Mr Nixon never responds to this suggestion.

Years of headline transfers or a one week scandal story............. The other alternative is the journalist is not as well informed as we are lead to believe.

The owner of Man City does not own Etihad, so what are you saying?

Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan is the chairman of Etihad. Sheikh Mansour is Man City's owner. The men are half brothers.

100% correct so its not the same person running both, I am not saying they don't talk thou :P

It's not our fault as fans that our owners don't have deep pockets to match the rest of the EPL, we will just have to hope we(Rovers) get lucky and Venkys can up sell the club..

UPDATE ON THIS. everyone will be pleased to know.. club is deciding between 2 indian beer brands.. believed to be cobra and kingfisher. 1 of these will be on the shirt this coming season. this will probably come to light after the asia trophy.

cobra is favourite to land the deal at the moment.

no specific figures.. but there's a battle between the 2 brands,, cos they know whoever wins it will get massive exposure WORLDWIDE! but also the winner knows they can put 1 over the other, which i hear theyre more excited about!

I prefer the cobra one haha.

Although I would love one with no sponsor... I probably shouldn't be hoping for that though.

for me, the green on 'cobra' doesnt stand out enough.. wonder if theyd change the design or colours around it at all ? please not another box! :(

If correct and under normal circumstance I would take this as very exciting news - especially with both brands 'trying to out do one another'.

That can only benefit the club.

But with the way things are going for us at the moment the shirt deal probably amounts to, a case off Cobra/Kingfisher in the home dressing room after the first game!

Based on visual alone - Cobra for me.

I heard the failure to bring in a £5m a year sponsor was one of the reasons Mrs D fired Huber on 7 July.

If there is a choice of sponsors now, things have moved incredibly quickly from there being no sign of any sponsorship activity last week.
