Guest Wen Y Hu Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 I suspect an Abbey rant would have more swearing in it than the outakes I have of myself and Wen Y Hu trying to do an introduction Now there is an idea. Next time we need cash, set a donation target and when we hit it, we'll release the out takes. Fair play to the guys, everything you hear after the "Hello's" is done off-the-cuff in a single take. It's was just the introduction where we forgot how to form sentences So now he tells us. You mean I could have had a break?! I now have a 2 min 40 gag reel of us trying to do the intro (including some questionable language, some questionable privacy and some very questionable geography ). Nothing to do wiv me, guv. Cracking listen, well done to all involved. How was the sushi Wen Y Hu? Friday neet? Sushi. Sat'day neet? Sushi. Last neet? Fried bloomin' chicken. Anyway, glad it seems to have gone down well - thanks to all for the good wishes. Big thanks to Kamy for making it extremely easy to get through a pretty packed programme so smoothly and to Glenn for giving up his time and breakfast, not to mention his very considerable technical expertise.

Amo Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 Agreed. I still think he would be good for Rovers though, in some capacity. Dating coach? Anyway, good listen. Couldn't pinpoint Kamy's accent, tho. where ya from, dude?
den Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 I haven't listened it through yet, but from the part I have heard it sounds like a very professional job. I know Glenn has been keen to do something like this for some time now, so well done to him - and well done to Kamy and Wen Y Hu as well. ....... and of course, well done to everyone who contributed.
mogster Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 Excellent podcast for a first attempt, and I'm a podcast veteran :-) The content is great and presentation was perfect and professional. Maybe in the future Rovers figures will be queuing up to be interviewed on there. Also, I love the idea of Mrs D doing head-banging excercises with the brothers!
roversnick Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 brilliant listen thanks for doing this, hope it carries on please can you feed the cat before starting the broadcast next time though edit just realised it might be a baby not a cat
Tim Southampton Rover Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 .....maybe it was a baby cat? Excellent podcast, thoroughly enjoyed it! What type of guests do you have planned for the future? It would be an amazing if you managed to get a member of Venky's to talk with the fans. Also the podcast could be a good way to get information across from the fans forum meetings too.
Glenn Posted July 4, 2011 Author Posted July 4, 2011 The baby/cat was my fault. I was listening for such things, as it was so hot I had the window open and thought the noise I could here was kids outside (my mic was off so it didn't matter), I didn't realise until we'd finished it was one of the other two I could here. By the way, we've just had a fantastic offer to help with the technical side of the recordings, but if we have any budding musicans out there that fancy doing an intro (and possibly a bed and some bumpers) then it would be hugely appreciated. However it has to be all your own work (or using creative commons licensed stuff), no commercial music can be involved anywhere.
Brfcrule1 Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 excellent job Kamy,Wen Y Hu & Glenn reallt informative and a cracking listen Kamy listening to your voice are you from India? you sound like you have a typical Indian accent & well done for building up such a great relationship so far with the Venkys PR People was wondering when is the next podcast due Glenn said something was going on if so Kamy could you ask venkys when we are likely to get a new sponsor& when the kits are likely to be released? Was hoping something would be sorted by now any news would be great also let them know from me would very much like either Kingfisher or Cobra they are great well renowned companies. Look forward as ever in anticipation your next podcast thanks.

Glenn Posted July 7, 2011 Author Posted July 7, 2011 Oooh, we've made it into iTunes! That means people can vote, review comment on it etc. Be nice now, after the week we've had, we've got fragile egos http://itunes.apple.com/gb/podcast/id448043795
roverwhelmed Posted July 7, 2011 Posted July 7, 2011 Really enjoyed it, actually listened twice Looking forward to future podcasts.
DannyKeg Posted July 8, 2011 Posted July 8, 2011 Excellent, really informative. Super perspective, by the fans, for the fans. Thank you !
DannyKeg Posted July 8, 2011 Posted July 8, 2011 Just a thought, would be possible to have Nico take part ? (if/when he calms down) Would be interesting to have journo's take on things ?
Tim Southampton Rover Posted July 8, 2011 Posted July 8, 2011 That's a great shout DannyKeg....or Roberto, Andy Cryer or any other journalist with 'inside' knowledge or good knowledge of the players we're after.

Hi, I'm a bit of a lurker and really only check the transfer rumours and preview threads. that being said, I'm about to go into my final year at a performing arts university where I specialize in songwriting. What type of music are you looking for? I may be able to throw something together.
donegalrover Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 hi lads just wondering is there going to be another podcast this week
Guest Wen Y Hu Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 Yes. Recording is finished and editing is underway. It should be ready for publishing in the next day or so. I was joined in the "studio" by Kamy and philipl, with Glenn beavering away behind the scenes looking after the recording. Kamy took a look at the past week's movements on the transfer front and then discussed transfer policy with philipl before we went through the ins and outs regarding the takeover bid that appears to be in progress.

Having just spent the last couple of hours editing it to make sure we don't say anything we can get in trouble for, can I change that to "the takeover bid that may or may not be in progress, although the club has now released a statement implying Venky's aren't for selling" Having now almost done the final edit, ignoring a minor technical issue (Philip is a little low after he relocated mid interview), it's a good one. "Something for everyone" I believe.

Glenn Posted July 10, 2011 Author Posted July 10, 2011 Well, it's being uploaded as I speak, but due to how/where it's stored, it'll probably be tomorrow before people can access it.

"Something for everyone" I believe. I'm relying on you editing me so that I sound as if I have joined up sentences from time to time. I'm still struggling a bit with heat exhaustion 3 hours later. There were quite a few stops this time for purely technical reasons, but from a technological point of view alone it is all pretty amazing that our studio stretched to four different locations with quite different environments. One point for our listeners and future participants to be aware of is the echo effect for the participants, which apparently doesn't manifest itself in the audio stream that you collect but can cause a delay in responses during an exchange. Anyway, as for "the takeover bid that may or may not be in progress", I think I covered myself with "appears to be", m' Lord. good to here lads keep up the good work. its much appreciated Glad of that, donegalrover. In volume presumably! Sorry I must have twiddled with the volume control which hangs down at twiddleable height from the head set. A wise decision given how sensitive your microphone appears to be!
Backroom Tom Posted July 10, 2011 Backroom Posted July 10, 2011 In volume presumably! Sorry I must have twiddled with the volume control which hangs down at twiddleable height from the head set. I had to read that twice I thought he meant you got a bit depressed halfway through.
PAFELL Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 Well, it's being uploaded as I speak, but due to how/where it's stored, it'll probably be tomorrow before people can access it. Searched but still nbo result. Hope you post a link on here when it is available.
Guest Wen Y Hu Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 It's now out. New topic for #2 here. Please feel free to continue discussion on #1 in this thread. Best wishes.
