T J Hooker Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 I think it will gradually improve further and become a hit, at which point Chris evens ego will as ever get the better of him and he'll become impossible to work with so he'll be sacked/pushed out/quit Quote

T J Hooker Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 Thought Evans was terrible and Le Blanc brilliant. Opinions eh. I think that's the general opinion, I just think theres enough other good aspects to the show to ignore him(for now) Quote
Backroom Tom Posted May 30, 2016 Backroom Posted May 30, 2016 (edited) Matt LeBlanc's natural coolness and likeability shone through but not enough to negate the awfulness of Evans Edited May 30, 2016 by Tom 1 Quote
Stuart Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 I just thought it felt like Joey does cars. We'll see. I've got an open mind about it. Quote

T J Hooker Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 Just ctrying to wondering who else could do the job of being the main presenter? They'd need to have a big personality, really know there motors and be funny. Nobody springs to my mind(maybe they could get chandler in) Quote
Backroom Tom Posted May 30, 2016 Backroom Posted May 30, 2016 Rowan Atkinson all the way or maybe Chris Harris will get a shot down the line Quote
T J Hooker Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 Rowan Atkinson, really? As mr. Bean or himself? If it's as mr. Bean then id watch, but ive always found himself at be pretty dour(maybe bowyer should apply if the job becomes available) Ill have to google Chris Harris, ive never heard of him. Quote

Nobody springs to my mind(maybe they could get chandler in) Steve Coogan, Jay Kay, Jodie Kidd, Rowan Atkinson - all massive car fanatics that could host Top Gear easily. Evans is old news and was trying too hard. His "woo"'s where a blatant attempt to have a catchphrase like Clarkson did. Who that German woman was i'll never know, I have no idea what she was saying. matt83 Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 Just watched the new top gear. Or flop gear as it was dubbed in the papers. Chris Evans is irritating. He's a unique combo of both boring and shouty. In spite of Matt le blanc's criticism I thought he was decent. I'm sure the novelty factor of oh it's joey off friends, look joey, factor will carry him a certain way anyway. He looked totally bewildered at that Blackburn American football team rocking up for the tug of war. Quote

T J Hooker Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 One things for sure, i wont be signing up to amazon prime just to watch topgear#2 regardless of how topgear#1 goes. Quote

T J Hooker Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 you're such a charmer I personally Wouldn't be interested enough to see it that id be trawling online for it, they've had their day(and that day ended about 5 years ago imo) Quote
matt83 Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 If anyone likes Alan Partridge his latest mockumentary Scissored Isle is funny. It was on Sky Atlantic. "I'm going to one of the most deprived areas in Britain, the spiritual home of the needy, Manchester. You only have to hear the locals speak to realise this is an area severely handicapped by poverty. Once an industrial hub, today better known for its teeming gay and lesbian scene and coincidently the arrival of the BBC in Salford." 1 Quote

RibbleValleyRover Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 Gomorrah on Sky Atlantic is bloody (pun intended) good. A series about the bloody struggle in Naples between the various factions in the Camorra. Almost at the end of Season 2 but worth catching up on if you don't mind subtitles and are interested in mafia type programmes. Quote

I saw the film covering the same issues a few years ago, that was really good, not seen the tv show though, is it Italian made, with subs? Quote
