gumboots Posted April 27, 2020 Posted April 27, 2020 Review I read said it wasnt very good. Well probably give it a go anyway. In the end it's all down to what you enjoy, not what reviewers enjoy. 1 Quote

Tiger king was great, first episode didnt grip me straight away mind. What baffled me about the whole thing is how much money simple rednecks seem to have. 1 Quote

They're all available through Sky Catch up (at least they are on mine anyway) & I believe you can get them on Now TV. Watched the first one last night. Yes, it's extremely violent, so I'd advise anyone to avoid if that's not your thing. 1 Quote

Claytons Left Boot Posted April 28, 2020 Posted April 28, 2020 Twin was mentioned recently as a good watch. Eight episode series set on Lofoten in Norway. Crime thriller with a difference as they actually get away with it. In Norwegian with English subtitles. Couldn’t stop watching it. It was left fairly open at the end and it would be great if there was to be a follow up. I have Googled for information on a second series but can’t come up with anything, unfortunately. Quote
only2garners Posted April 28, 2020 Posted April 28, 2020 Got away with it for now Clayton! InKristofer Hivoj’s interview in Saturday’s Times magazine he was asked whether there might be a second series and he effectively said maya be so I guess it’s still up in the air. Quote

Tyrone Shoelaces Posted April 29, 2020 Posted April 29, 2020 Mrs Shoelaces thought " Twins " was really good. I haven't seen it yet. Quote

For Sopranos fans who are looking for new content: https://talkingsopranos.simplecast.com/ Michael Imperioli (Christopher) and Steve Schirripa (Bobby) talk all things Sopranos, 5 episodes in. 1 Quote

We loved the tiger king as well, such an exceptional collection of characters. Couldn’t get into the jinx at all and gave up on it. Subsequently a friend told me about the twist and I wish I’d stayed with it! Loved the sopranos as well but I think the wire is the greatest tv ever made, it’s just wonderful and it’s well worth a watch if you haven’t seen it yet. 1 Quote
windymiller7 Posted May 3, 2020 Posted May 3, 2020 Finished Gangs of London last night. I thought it was really good. It was one where I had to stop myself from staying up til stupid o'clock with the old "just one more". As I've said previously, it's extremely violent & very graphic, but if you don't mind this then I'd recommend giving it a go. 1 Quote
Backroom Mike E Posted May 3, 2020 Backroom Posted May 3, 2020 Loving 'Save Me' on Sky atmo. Up to episode 5. Quote
windymiller7 Posted May 3, 2020 Posted May 3, 2020 Bit of a crossover on threads, but I'm also enjoying 'The English Game' on Netflix. I'd say it's a must watch for any football fan, especially any Rovers fan. IMHO of course. For anyone who's not aware of this or hasn't read the opinions of others on here, check out this thread in the Football forum: https://www.brfcs.com/mb/index.php?/forums/topic/34084-rovers-in-netflix-football-series/ 1 Quote
Backroom Mike E Posted May 8, 2020 Backroom Posted May 8, 2020 Watched AfterLife on Netflix. I'm not remotely a fan of Gervais' comedy, but AfterLife is a brilliant and brutally honest portrait of grieving imo. Quote

Gav Posted May 8, 2020 Posted May 8, 2020 After much debate we've gone back to a couple of old favourites: The Royal Family and The Wire - you couldn't get much more of a contrast. 1 Quote
Inglorious basturk Posted May 8, 2020 Posted May 8, 2020 The wire is bloody sublime .... oh sorry i mean , I like the wire Quote
Inglorious basturk Posted May 8, 2020 Posted May 8, 2020 Can’t watch Ricky Tomlinson in it though . Chills me to the bone Quote
