5 part true crime documentary on Sky Crime - Murder at the cottage - starts off slow, but ends up being very good.

On the same channel, if anyone hasn’t  seen The Jinx, it’s a must for true crime fans, just unbelievable, with the murderer playing a staring role throughout the documentary and that’s not a spoiler.

Recorded both purely by your recommendation :)

Going back to 'Time', the scene of dad's funeral/Sean Bean in prison Chapel with chaplain had my husband and I both in tears. The whole series was awful, and yet so compelling and understated that it was magical TV. Someone the other day suggested it should be shown in all schools.

Just finished watching The Staircase, went on a bit, but compelling.

In 13 episodes I never saw Michael get angry once, but 2 staircases and 2 murders…….

Great Tv, but not as good as The Jinx.

Thanks for the recommendation.

Watched ‘The Widower’ recently,  another bonkers US crime must!

Anyone got recommendations for good stand ups? I feel like there's not much good out there at the moment. I keep defaulting back to the old favourites, the new blood coming through just doesn't seem to be doing it for me when I see clips of them on panel shows etc.

Dave Chappelle. Absolutely class, in the vein of Chris Rock. I’d recommend Chappelle’s Show first like. All on Netflix too!

Watched Unhinged last night on someone's recommendation.....not sure if it was really good or really shit.🤷‍♂️

Anyone seen it? Russel Crowe.

I saw it at the Cinema last  year and don't remember much about it so maybe that shows how good it is.

I'm surprised that Chappelle made it to Britain.

He is a funny one though. Chappelle's Show is brilliant. I can watch his Charlie Murphy (Eddie's brother) skits over and over.

It’s a bit of a niche one, but as I love hip hop and lots of the things he references, I definitely get it more than most would!

Has anyone here watched Succession? We got into it a couple of weeks ago and found it amazing. Very funny, a mix of sharp, black humour and stupid jokes and wonderfully produced and acted by all concerned.

it depicts a dysfunctional family where the patriarch owns a massive global media company, and all the family members are pretty much despicable in their own way. I gather that it is loosely based on the murdoch family so there is a lot of skewering of right wing opinion and media bias. Despite all the major players being so vile I normally find myself feeling sympathy and rooting for some of them, testament to the stellar writing and acting. It’s created by Jesse Armstrong, previously famous for his work on peep show and I think he also worked with Chris Morris on four lions.

It’s now my top recommendation to everyone I talk to about box sets. You can get it on sky Atlantic in the UK. Third season starts in October as well 😀

Anybody who likes a really good drama should download Help which was on 4seven. It is set in a Liverpool care home during the at the start of the pandemic. Another reason to watch it is because of Stephen Graham and Jodie Comer. It's Graham at his brilliant best.

Sky are bringing out a 4K TV that doesn’t need a satellite dish, a set top box or any cables other than the power cable. You can pay for it interest free over 48 months. I reckon it will appeal to a lot of people.
