philipl Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 MarpleLeaf Michael Taylor If Rovers fans want to believe all is well and the press are making up negative stories, fine. But it's not fine. Far from it.

Hughesy Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 From Steve Kean "It is a budget that we will try to stretch and get as many quality players in as we can" of course the article started with "STEVE Kean has assured Blackburn Rovers fans he does have a ‘sizeable’ budget to spend this summer as he moved quickly to calm growing frustrations among the Ewood Park faithful." So which one is it? Yes or you could also quote other parts eh..... "We want to strengthen with a defender, midfielder and striker. We have got two active bids out there and we will see if they are accepted, if not other bids will go in. They are sizeable bids aswell. They are not small deals they are sizeable bids" Also - has nobody ever thought that the twitter poster with all the so called info sounds like a poster on here??

If we have a "sizable" transfer budget why are they trying to stretch over three players? At least they have finally admitted the PJ money is in installments.
pick32 Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 This is like a jigsaw with round pieces it just doesn't fit. On one hand i think Kean will be sacked because he is crap and they haven't backed him and cancelled the Pavone deal but then there is rumours that we are offering players out. Why would they do that if they want a new manager surely he would decide who goes and who comes in. Think the club are throwing out a few red herrings and "People in the know" are lapping them up.
Hughesy Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 If we have a "sizable" transfer budget why are they trying to stretch over three players? BangkokRover Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 Surely you get the best deal for your money?? No matter how rich/ poor you are....even Man City are learning!! Sure we all hope that is the case. But if we have 30 million to spend that 10 million a player or are they including the wages as well? Which means these players are not going to be the player that appease the fans.
LeChuck Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 But if we have 30 million to spend that 10 million a player or are they including the wages as well? Which means these players are not going to be the player that appease the fans. It better hadn't include wages, that's a separate matter. If we have a wage issue that is preventing us from buying players then stop telling players like Keith Andrews that they have a future at the club.
broadsword Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 Also - has nobody ever thought that the twitter poster with all the so called info sounds like a poster on here?? I think it's the guy who has the green Mr. Man as his avatar.

This is the same bloke that was talking about the Champions League and massive budgets a month ago. That interview was just a stream of complete waffle and I just don't believe him for a second.
A cup of beans Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 Surely you get the best deal for your money?? No matter how rich/ poor you are....even Man City are learning!! correct. that's why theyve got williams in to deal with transfer negotiations, cos they were sick of paying over the odds.
BangkokRover Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 That interview was just a stream of complete waffle and I just don't believe him for a second. This for me is THE problem at the moment. There is no definitive answer to any question that is given to Rovers.
CrazyIvan Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 I'm not being rude to anyone on here when I say this but it feels like there is somebody/bodies out there who are mischief making. Certainly, the rumour mill is, and has been, in over-drive for months. I've lost count of how many times we've heard Steve Kean is being sacked in the morning. We've had a couple of Venkys selling rumours. We've had numerous players being sold rumours and, up to now, there is only Phil Jones who has gone. There seems to be a lot of 'Rovers in big trouble' rumours. I'm not saying that they are all untrue but the mass of them, and the fact very few have been close to the mark up to now, makes me wonder a lot about all of it. I can't, genuinely, see Venkys spreading negative rumours around to weed out the leakee. I can see someone leaking things just to cause some pain to Venkys and to raise the ire of the fans. Why, I have no idea unless there is some long-term game being played here, one which has Venkys out. Certainly, Venkys have done and continue to do themselves no favours with the fans or with the club in general. They need to get that sorted out as soon as is possible and the only way I can see them doing that is to appoint a very good and a very strong chairman, one who has autonomy, and plough some decent cash into the club.

The problem is Hughesy we have heard it all before. What was it Kean said when he returned from India, the largest transfer budget in the club's history - a bit like Chamberlain with his "peace in our time" statement just before World War Two kicked off. I don't believe a word that Kean or Venky's say anymore. I honestly don't know who is more deluded the owners or the manager. I think both have been living in a fantasy world for long enough. Having read his remarks about the performances of Anderson and Blackman at the weekend, I really do wonder if he is watching the same matches as the rest of us. At the end of the day only time will tell but I suspect that sales will far outweigh the signings in terms of money spent and money received. Unfortunately, I suspect the Rao family and the club are going to be stuck with each other for some time to come. The big fear must be that Mrs. Desai begins to realise that propping up a Premier League club is going to drain resources from their main business. At that point, and I suspect we are getting near it, I dread to think what actions they might take to cut costs.
Fife Rover Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 I have made a few investments in my life, some excellent and some bad but in view of what is going on at Rovers at the moment by far the worst is my investment for a season ticket for the coming season. Thank god it is only £170! This will probably be deleted but I needed to get it off my chest. I was just thinking very similar thoughts Al. But then both you and I have been around Ewood for many years and it's safe to say we have seen much worse and not given up the support. So I guess we can both grit our teeth and just get on with suporting them through this latest crisis eh?
Black Burn Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 Someone told me Mrs. Desai will be assuming the chairman - or chairwoman role herself. Effectively she herself is John Williams's replacement.
BangkokRover Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 Someone told me Mrs. Desai will be assuming the chairman - or chairwoman role herself. Effectively she herself is John Williams's replacement. If she is not going to base herself in the UK and do the job full time, it will be a complete disaster.
den Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 I was just thinking very similar thoughts Al. So I guess we can both grit our teeth and just get on with suporting them through this latest crisis eh? Seen much worse Fife? Well we've been down in the depths of the third division - if that's what you mean. However, at this moment in time, this isn't the Blackburn Rovers that I fell in love with all those years ago.
Wiggy Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 Someone told me Mrs. Desai will be assuming the chairman - or chairwoman role herself. Effectively she herself is John Williams's replacement. Well she does know a lot about football....she watched all the games in the world cup and if she needs advice she can always ask her brother, he's a football expert. Then there's her track record since she entered the football world last November...???.......Oh dear!
thenodrog Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 ok! for those who havent worked it out.. i hear they are bringing someone in to help sell players.. an indian guy. he wont help much.. its the fact that our prized assets will be sold off! 1. Why do you expect anybody to trust you when you've been one of venkeys staunchest supporters since they trapped up in Nov? You have supported them to the hilt. Obviously you're judgement is seriously no dangerously flawed. Put it another way your info may be accurate but your opinion is utterly worthless. 2. You still have a picture of the Brothers Grimm as your avatar. 3. You are now assuming the smugness and air of some all seeing oracle and talking down to us all in stupid riddles like that black woman in The Matrix. I rem I wanted to hold her head underwater until she spoke coherently but nowhere near as much as I do with you. Pisses me off it really does. All this 'read back through my posts and you'll see clues' is just ######! With 20 odd pages every day who the hell can be bothered / has time to play amateur sleuth to someone who knows the square root of sweet FA whilst pretending to be in the know.... The boards very own 'Special One'. If he continues like this will somebody up there just ban him please..... and anybody else who tips up with that smug 'I know something that you don't' junior school playground attitude. 4. Just read on and it turns out that you are either Gavs love child or his Gay Lover..... or maybe even Deb's lover. Whichever it is the above still applies.

Black Burn Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 I'd shoot her if she came within range. The police will arrest you if you did that.

Kelbo Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 Someone told me Mrs. Desai will be assuming the chairman - or chairwoman role herself. Effectively she herself is John Williams's replacement. Unfortunately, she is incapable of such a role, John Williams was by far the best Chairman in the league with a wealth of knowledge and ability and respected by all, (refer you to Michael Laudrups comments that he was the best Chairman of a football club he had ever met) thats why he is at Man City, they could have got who they wanted for the role, they chose JW and they chose him for a reason, he was the best they could buy!! Now with all due respect, Mrs D does not know the animal which is proffessional football, what next, one of the brothers assuming the role of Physio??
bob fleming Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 Someone told me Mrs. Desai will be assuming the chairman - or chairwoman role herself. Effectively she herself is John Williams's replacement. 'Kin smashing news. Made up for her. Instead of making herself Chairwoman I suggest she concentates on selling the club before she and her half wit brothers do any more damage. They are totally and utterly clueless.
