id have REAL respect for her if she did that, moved over here, and communicated with the fans like JW.

Yeah, like THAT is really going to happen...

Given the big noises (mostly wind so far) that have come out of Pune so far since November, I'd wager that the most anyone is likely to see of Queen Rover of India and her feckless siblings, is a trail of McDonalds (market research) debris from the ex-Neville pad in Bolton to the side gates at Ewood. And then that will be once in a blue moon, so as the inbred egotistical arrogance of these folk won't permit any greater exposure to the noises from the great unwashed of East Lancashire.

We are witnessing a re-run of Marie Antoinette and Versailles here people - I can't wait for Mme Guillotine to slam down and the revolution to begin.

Certainly, Venkys have done and continue to do themselves no favours with the fans or with the club in general. They need to get that sorted out as soon as is possible and the only way I can see them doing that is to appoint a very good and a very strong chairman, one who has autonomy, and plough some decent cash into the club.

Yes, but this goes back to what their plans were when they took over the club.

I was led to believe they were willing to "front-load" the club with some cash (remember how Nicko described their feelings toward the club as a "money-pit"?) and then put in a maintenance level of cash afterwards, making a loss on the club (but nothing unsustainable) in order to generate PR for Venky's by brand exposure in having their name associated with the club.

Now, 8 months later and endless contradictory BS behind us, I don't think anyone knows what they want from the club now. We know it's not a labour of love for them. Despite the complete hash (and I'm being polite here) they've made of things, if they put some money in there's still a chance of PR. Or maybe they were hoping to break even and still get PR (hint: you can't break even and stay in this league).

Or maybe they've just given it up as a bad job?

Unfortunately, she is incapable of such a role, John Williams was by far the best Chairman in the league with a wealth of knowledge and ability and respected by all, (refer you to Michael Laudrups comments that he was the best Chairman of a football club he had ever met) thats why he is at Man City, they could have got who they wanted for the role, they chose JW and they chose him for a reason, he was the best they could buy!!

i take your points and agree with em kelbo.. but

city havent appointed williams as chairman. they have hired him to negotiate on transfer deals and other marketing strategys.

theyve taken note of the brilliant stuff he did for us and are utilising it. they have there own people on the board.. much like our owners.

If we lose all our best players i think we could expect a chant against Venky's and a few banners that's it. Rovers fans are crap at venting there frustrations. The younger ones not so much they will try and organize something via a social network were as the older heads will say the team need the fans behind them and we should stick together which is a load of old codswallop, as this will never achieve anything as we would still have them running the club like a circus the club is nothing without fans. :rover:

Do I need to remind you of the events of 1960 when after the Cup Final tickets fiasco Rovers lost somehere around 10,000 supporters permanently. Just look at the average attendance figures for the 10 years from 1950 to 1960 and the same again from then on. EVEN IN THE JACK WALKER DAYS. OK I know that the ground capacity was reduced drastically by Jack's re-building, but even so it stil does not alter the fact that all but a tiny fraction that swore they would NEVER go back after that 1960 incident stuck to their guns and never did. I know quite a few of them personally so can vouch for that.

#rovers fans, whats happening at club? hearing nasty rumours.

Perhaps the drips over the dam are beginning and the national media is beginning to take note.

MarpleLeaf Michael Taylor

If Rovers fans want to believe all is well and the press are making up negative stories, fine. But it's not fine. Far from it.

Wow. You really do revel in this, don't you?

Was sold a bum steer early in Venkeys rule that Brockhall was only included in the deal on a 20 year lease. Supposedly came from directly from a senior club source. <_< Now told recently that that was a bum steer and that Venkeys actually own Brockhall lock stock and barrel along with Ewood Park. Seems the individuals within the trust who actually inherited BRFC had neither interest nor desire to own BRFC and wanted a line drawn under the lot. I must say this makes the entire deal look like a real giveaway. We should have all had a whip around.

So Plan B

Might be best all around if we accept relegation as a probability. Clear the books and cash in as best we can of ALL high earners and replace them with good solid Championship players on manageable salaries. Offer a bonus on staying up and just preparing for the inevitable. We'll go back to the lower leagues but at least with sensible finances we'd have a reasonable chance of avoiding bankruptcy and closure. If we go down as we are with this lot it'll be like jumoing into deep water wearing lead boots.

Alternatively it can only be Lancashire Utd. Unfortunately we'd now be negotiating from a position of weakness after 20 years of opportunity to go down that road from a position of massive advantage. :(

thanks, theno! this post cheered me up! almost crying laughing!

you seem to have missed the bit about me being right ??? hmmm :D

If venkeys and kean running the show are 'right' as opposed to Williams and Allardyce in charge then I'm happy to be wrong.

Come on gord, it will NEVER EVER happen, if it was, don't you think Oldham, Bury and Rochdale would have merged by now? Or Bolton and Wigan? Or the Bristol clubs?

They are still trading. When this all pans out we might not be.

Yet more attempted attempted blame deflection. Why don't you just hold your hand up as a terminal idiot?

As for mark hughes...Lets hear your version.

4. Just read on and it turns out that you are either Gavs love child or his Gay Lover..... or maybe even Deb's lover. Whichever it is the above still applies.

You're out of order posting stuff about debs when shes not here to defend herself, joking or otherwise.

You can say all you like about me gordon, I couldn't care less, but next time you have a little foot stamp, leave debs out of it.

Awww, can't you play nice, Gordy? Always resorting to angry digs. Have you got a complex?

Just because I don't buy into the pitchfork mob mentality on here, doesn't mean I'm a Venky/Kean lover. Buuuuuut... if that helps you sleep at night, believe what you will.

As for mark hughes...Lets hear your version.

Why? Is your memory playing tricks on you?

I'd assumed it was Debs posting all along Gav.

The 'new' agent in - trying to sell players - is from India.

I know his name. I just need to know more about him before I commit to print...if at all.

Nicko,

I see that the Mirror has duplicated the article form the LT site but have MISSED OUT the part where it states that there are no financial restrictions contrary to national reports. perhaps its just a simple mistake but then again it would be the Mirror contradicting itself to what was published yesterday or the day before
