[Archived] Rumour: Venky's To Sell?

Recommended Posts

Come on, thenodrog, I respect your views that the club may be heading for relegation, that you think Venkys and Kean aren't doing a good job, but there is no need to insult other people who do not share those views.

And people's opinions can change, depending on circumstances and what happens at the club. It could be that Nicko and Zacc used to think highly of Venkys because they were doing well at first, but this mess came up, they screwed up and they changed their opinions. Doesn't make them any less reliable on untrustworthy. We are human beings, not robots. We can change our stances and opinions according to what happens.

No need for all those snide remarks and criticisms. You are probably more matured and well-behaved than me, I'm sure you should know that.

'Trying to sell players'?.... Trying to get decent prices for our deadwood, or someone to flog Hoilett and Samba to the highest bidders...???????

If Hoilett leaves then that's that. We can replace good centre halves with average ones and get away with it but not good attacking players. We only have a couple as it is. At the moment, Hoilett is the only reason to have any optimism going into the new season.

The 'new' agent in - trying to sell players - is from India.

I know his name. I just need to know more about him before I commit to print...if at all.

It just gets better and better. A trusted advisor from the homelands is sent to the colonies to oversee the distribution of assets belonging to the Queen. Talk about history repeating itself.

Take cover friends. Kansas is about to go bye bye....

Just to clarify, when you say "at first" do you mean before they had even heard of Blackburn Rovers or do you just mean before they bought the club?

I think it's a combination of the rise of socials networks and the six degrees of separation. Once upon a time what snippets of info I got were infrequent hints from staff members and I never had anyone I trusted enough to pass them on to. Now, through social networking, I've a networks of dozens of people who talk to agents, staff, players, scouts, journalist and doris the cleaner and it doesn't take long to know who has reliable info, so whatever the story there is always somebody in my "circle" who knows what's going on.

I don't have anyone I class as an inside source and 5 years ago I knew nothing. Now I get to hear all sorts. The club leaking stuff hasn't changed, the way the world shares information has.

Absolutely bang on the money though I'd make one clarification, the signal to noise ratio has massively decreased at the same time. It's no longer adequate to rely on single sources of information, even if reliable. More one has to internally filter the wheat from the chaff and build a picture that resembles reality out of the maelstrom.

As for Mrs D becoming chairwoman, we're kidding ourselves. Much as I sound like a broken record this bears repeating; Venky's have shown no evidence they bought Rovers because they wanted to spend the majority of their time running a football club. Rather, they bought the club to further their aims for their company. The plan, I'm sure, was to proceed on the basis of mutually beneficial iniatives to achieve differing objectives for Rovers and their own Brand alike but when push comes to shove, Venkys are always going to come first.

The nearest thing we seem to have to someone just in it for the craic is ironically, Balaji by the sounds of it who seems equally as interested in boosting his celebrity street cred and on a severely short leesh from the good lady in Pune.

Just to clarify, is "Black Burn" Balaji or Venkatesh ? ;)

Cant believe anybody has assumed Venkys started this well.

Ste is that mischief making or do you need to ask?

i was prepared to give them time, bob. but i now question everything they say.

certainly after the last week of revelations... which i heard about ;) and subsequently posted!

whispers about the agent, have made me feel a little more optimistic..

that optimism will disappear if its not who im told it is! or someone of as high a calibre!

well this gets even better the good news is if the agent is from Venkys homeland we live in the hope that he'll be equally bad at his job as venkys have been with Rovers and won't be able to flog any of our players...cos as it stands our squad his threadbare enougth any more departures without any incoming players and at some stage next season perhaps the Tea-lady my have to get her boots on ...If Samba goes god forbid ( please dont any fool post that we have someone in reserve ie : hanley who can step into big Chris's shoes )

Is this the fellow who's trying to flog Kalinic for £12m?

That's probably him. Next week Mrs Desai wants him to create peace in the Middle East, first week in August Time Travel and the week after get £5m for Keith Andrews.

Great. Thanks for clearing that up.

so mrs desai want to be chairwoman and as brfc is not the main business, ill assume she will be doing so, from the other side of the globe. Sounds really really stupid and something that smells like failure. The good old line about having 8 or 9 decisions out 10 correct, seems like a distant memory.

If its the case, she would run a business, that she knows nothing about and from a distance. While she is planning for the main business to expand

and double checking everything the brothers do. She is gonna be busy.

perhaps she wants to learn the trade, so she can tutor barry whites 17 yeal old son, so he can take overin a few years.

Now they are bringing in an indian agent, is he a well respected agent, thats known for doing business the right way, or is he another rookie appointment, that really doesnt make sense.?

Now we´ll just have wait and see, which players are going to be sold. "exiciting" times.

Yes, but this goes back to what their plans were when they took over the club.

I was led to believe they were willing to "front-load" the club with some cash (remember how Nicko described their feelings toward the club as a "money-pit"?) and then put in a maintenance level of cash afterwards, making a loss on the club (but nothing unsustainable) in order to generate PR for Venky's by brand exposure in having their name associated with the club.

Now, 8 months later and endless contradictory BS behind us, I don't think anyone knows what they want from the club now. We know it's not a labour of love for them. Despite the complete hash (and I'm being polite here) they've made of things, if they put some money in there's still a chance of PR. Or maybe they were hoping to break even and still get PR (hint: you can't break even and stay in this league).

Or maybe they've just given it up as a bad job?

Think sadly you may be right Bryan a very good post...It doesn't look like they've ever put any of there own money in only from loans and now thats finished , what's their next move ?

Their only hope of salvaging any PR is by putting some money in or if we somehow manage to stay up for another season they'll get another 12 month free advertising on the back of BRFC - we only managed a last day survival last time.......

Sounds like a major sense of humour failure for Bob.

Well I guess now is about time to have a sense of humour failure Bryan. An Indian agent is in town to sell some players. We're already x5 down on last season. We are unable or unwilling to bring in any new players (draw your own conclusions). This'll be the Asset Stripping part then I'd imagine.

No. No. Stop. Silly me. It might look bad. It might seem all wrong. But hang on. Read the LT. It's all in hand. They just need more time, it's all coming together.

got to agree with you Bob

Just wondering have they moved the LT Rovers football section to be a Edition from Pune and printed in Blackburn...just a thought....

seems like SK is back on form ..I'd give the guy credit if he'd be a tiny bit more honest !

no not in fball. but vastly experienced in other things.. (if its who im told!)

unfortunately football is unlike any other business
