rebelmswar Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 I am not a company employee. I take it you didn't even read my response to that post. I already said "doing well" was just a manner of speaking and was referring to the time where nicko believed we had a 50 million budget, drawing lists of players, identifying talented players and aiming for them. I didn't even make any statement defending Venkys and I still get labeled as a Venkys employee. FFS... People do need to lay off you on the Venkeys plant issue. No plant is this obvious people. I believe you are in fact Hughesy or a relation of his.

The odd thing for me Black Burn is this, even using slang words, your Command of the English Language and spellings (give or take the american version) is remarkable, you tell us you are at College, if this is the case, please give me the name of the College, my Doctor has been in this Country for 12 years and I still cant understand him I bear you no grudge but I feel that you are not exactly who you say you are, sorry for that, you have a right to anonymity but I think you maybe could be a little more open on your background!
Fife Rover Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 Seen much worse Fife? Well we've been down in the depths of the third division - if that's what you mean. However, at this moment in time, this isn't the Blackburn Rovers that I fell in love with all those years ago. Eeeehhhh! Ah Doant Knoww Den. You seem to enjoy reading things into my posts that I was not actually referring to. Must be my bad English. So to clarify (see what you can find wrong with this ). Yes times were indeed bad when we wre down in the 3rd division and almost out at the other end of it on more than one occasion. But that alone is not what I was meaning in my answer to Al. I was referring in far more general terms to the MANY years of ups and downs that BRFC suffered both on and off the pitch. For instance the several occasions when the club was so very near to going to the wall for lackof finance that tradesmen were being paid not from club funds but out of the pockets of the chairman and directors. I also was alluding to the fact that throughout all these tribulations there was always a hard core of fans like Al and myself and a FEW thousand others that NEVER gave up on them and never will. That's all Den! Edit: There are two mistakes that I have deliberately left in there. See if you can find them Den; somethingto get your teeth into.

Speedie Dived Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 To all the people yesterday insisting to me Venkys don't have any money or are not "that" well off. wikipedia claim they are worth 650 million but I thought it was more, here is where I originally got my impression they were billionaires (asset value at least). "Describing Venky’s owners as chicken farmers is like saying Walker had a scrap metal yard. Walker, a steel magnate, was one of Britain’s richest 30 men when he died in 2000, with a fortune estimated at £600m. The Rao family are worth three times more and their business is riding the crest of the Indian economic boom. The VH Group consists of 28 companies in India with a collective turnover in 2010 of close to £1bn and group profits of about £100m. Growth is forecast at 15 per cent per year. There are no external partners and no debt. Acquisitions, including Blackburn Rovers and a new £130m vaccine plant in Switzerland, are made in cash. The company are not listed but could fetch about £1.5bn if sold, although that is not on the cards. With an extensive property portfolio, the family are probably worth £2bn, perhaps more. Demonstrably they have money to invest where they see fit." All the best defences in court start with "Wikipedia says".

Fife Rover Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 Sounds like a major sense of humour failure for Bob. You are joking ...right? I have just nearly wet myself laughing at both his little "straight faced" jokes there. Both show a sense of sarcastic wit at it's highest and purest form. And I normally abhor sarcasm!
rebelmswar Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 that made me fall off my chair laughing! When you pull yourself off of the floor can you post some of your stories? Its always nice to share in the success of our fellow board members, rather than beat them down with an accompaniment of quasi-electrical blepharospasm don't you think?
Fife Rover Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 so mrs desai want to be chairwoman and as brfc is not the main business, ill assume she will be doing so, from the other side of the globe. Sounds really really stupid and something that smells like failure. The good old line about having 8 or 9 decisions out 10 correct, seems like a distant memory. If its the case, she would run a business, that she knows nothing about and from a distance. While she is planning for the main business to expand and double checking everything the brothers do. She is gonna be busy. perhaps she wants to learn the trade, so she can tutor barry whites 17 yeal old son, so he can take overin a few years. Now they are bringing in an indian agent, is he a well respected agent, thats known for doing business the right way, or is he another rookie appointment, that really doesnt make sense.? Now we´ll just have wait and see, which players are going to be sold. "exiciting" times. Oh I don't know.....Shifting Samba, Hoilett and Ollson shouldn't be too difficult....Then maybe Robbo and N'Zonzi.....After that it gets a little bit more difficult...But...
Black Burn Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 So you dont like him then? We are best of pals. Though we have never met in real life. Oh, and from the transfer thread, Blackburn Rovers apparently made a 9 million pound bid for Honda. So there is cash to spare, after all. Typical Doctor just like the one who posts on here. I have no clue what he goes on about half the time Ah...sorry, I am unable to speak Thai.
Fife Rover Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 no not in fball. but vastly experienced in other things.. (if its who im told!) Oh I see....he can be vastly experienced in any other activity in the World except football. Well that certainly narrows it down a bit. And also makes him the ideal candidate errrr.....doesn't it?

Or is that Balaji's stash being pulled out again as opposed to the family money?
broadsword Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 Oh, and from the transfer thread, Blackburn Rovers apparently made a 9 million pound bid for Honda. So there is cash to spare, after all. Very funny.
philipl Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 The more is posted on this thread, the less is actually said. Anyone got something interesting to share? Some MB members only get upset if we do! The last few days have seen more reverse somersaults than an Olympic diving competition. Rovers/Venky's are impossible to write about short of quoting these folks' latest gems.
Black Burn Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 Or is that Balaji's stash being pulled out again as opposed to the family money? Probably not. The "debt" or mortgage is supposed to be paid separately - the funds for that is in a different account from the funds used for transfer. According to Vital Football, the funds had always been available, as opposed to popular belief, but thanks to internal bickering and a certain Steve Kean, the owners didn't let him use them. Very funny. It's in the transfer thread if you don't believe me. In fact, you don't have to believe me but I assure you I didn't mean that to be a joke.

I wasn't trying to find fault with your post either, just trying hard to remember when the club had as many fans as irate against the way the club was heading, as it has now. As for...... "I also was alluding to the fact that throughout all these tribulations there was always a hard core of fans like Al and myself and a FEW thousand others that NEVER gave up on them and never will. Sorry black burn but that is a very partial answer about what has gone on. If Honda is to be financed out of "ordinary" transfer funds, we would certainly have to sell to fund him given Mrs D's way of accounting for player costs. However, you do acknowledge there is an issue over the debt/mortgage.

That's fantastic news, cant wait to see him playing in front ofJones, P Jones, Dunn, Grella, Zonzi and Andrews, Now, can I interest you in this fine goose that lays golden eggs? Quite a steal at 24.95. I will throw in this fine leather jacket, only worn once... by a mod... who likes grog.
