I am not a company employee. I take it you didn't even read my response to that post. I already said "doing well" was just a manner of speaking and was referring to the time where nicko believed we had a 50 million budget, drawing lists of players, identifying talented players and aiming for them.

I didn't even make any statement defending Venkys and I still get labeled as a Venkys employee.

Well we've been down in the depths of the third division - if that's what you mean. However, at this moment in time, this isn't the Blackburn Rovers that I fell in love with all those years ago.

So to clarify (see what you can find wrong with this ). Yes times were indeed bad when we wre down in the 3rd division and almost out at the other end of it on more than one occasion. But that alone is not what I was meaning in my answer to Al. I was referring in far more general terms to the MANY years of ups and downs that BRFC suffered both on and off the pitch. For instance the several occasions when the club was so very near to going to the wall for lackof finance that tradesmen were being paid not from club funds but out of the pockets of the chairman and directors. I also was alluding to the fact that throughout all these tribulations there was always a hard core of fans like Al and myself and a FEW thousand others that NEVER gave up on them and never will. That's all Den!

To all the people yesterday insisting to me Venkys don't have any money or are not "that" well off. wikipedia claim they are worth 650 million but I thought it was more, here is where I originally got my impression they were billionaires (asset value at least).

Probably not. The "debt" or mortgage is supposed to be paid separately - the funds for that is in a different account from the funds used for transfer. According to Vital Football, the funds had always been available, as opposed to popular belief, but thanks to internal bickering and a certain Steve Kean, the owners didn't let him use them.

If Honda is to be financed out of "ordinary" transfer funds, we would certainly have to sell to fund him given Mrs D's way of accounting for player costs.
