[Archived] Rumour: Venky's To Sell?

Recommended Posts

Some of the old guard at the club have had their noses put of joint by Venkys ripping the carpet from under their feet. We had a number of people working behind the scenes who thought life couldnt get any better, cushy little number down at Ewood, how wrong they were. This doesnt mean everyone was a cushy number, and some people have left that will be sorely missed.

Yes Gav, that same 'old guard' who cared for this proud old club and had its's best interests at heart...look at us now

If our worse fears do come to fruition and this lot bugger off the damage they will have done to our club will be unforgiveable in my view.

Asked a couple of people in the circle of people who buy football clubs if there could be a buyer for Rovers and was greeted with laughter today.

Thanks for burying the club and fans who support the club who pay for your lifestyle Alan.

Maybe you should take a step back and have a think about things Alan, like the fans who give a ###### about your news story's in the papers atm.

Blackburn will still be here, after venky's, after you and after all of us.

The amount of people in the know at BRFCS is mind-boggling. I lost count of posters telling to known this for god knows how long, but hadn't just written anything or at best, vague innuendos. I can't imagine Venky's succeeding in any business: their competitors must know Venky's plans inside out if dozens of BRFCS posters do. Hopefully they'll find us a new owner. I just hope they don't fooled by a certain Mr. Syed and his billion dollar check.

You have to remember to pull off something a big as buying a football club, it's not a case of 3 people from each side have an idea, meet in a private room and it's done. It involves lawyers, solicitors, accountants, financiers, brokers, backers, translators, advisers, even secretaries and minute takers. All these people wouldn't risk their own jobs by posting what they know on the internet, but they do all have a circle of friends they trust to tell, who they know won't be the first to leak it online ..... but once it's out there, these people (many under the misapprehension of some form of anonymity) are willing to go "I knew that" once it does get out in the open. Interestingly as well, these people unwitting add other small pieces to the puzzle.

black burn time is something that rovers dont have at the moment. We need to do something drastic now like actually buy a couple of quality players otherwise 'in time' rovers are only going one way and it begins in with 'champ' and its not mixing it with europe's elite.

I am not disagreeing with you, but I think my friend was referring to the grand vision Venkys had for Blackburn - something to do with the future. He wasn't referring to the transfers taking place now, though I think I mentioned in another thread he told me he expected some to be happening this week. Said that it would appease the fans or something.

Doubt he is right, though. But I will be a horrible friend if I dismiss his statements completely.

I am with you on this. I do hope signings get completed early, and quality signings at that. However, we can't be expecting champions league players like Adebayor or Vuvinic who wouldn't touch us with a pole. I am frustrated that they missed out on Piatti and lost him to Valencia, though. Now that was a realistic target we could have gotten at a reasonable price.

I am not pro-Venkys. I am pro-Blackburn. If by September 1 there is no progress I will be joining you guys with stakes and torches to burn the Venkys to the ground (not literally, of course). Hell, I'll even call in napalm for added bonus.

But to judge them on rumors and hearsay might be premature - certainly there is no smoke without fire, but you can mistake steam for smoke.

Venkys bought the club from the Trust. Money spent. Gone. I think it was about £25 million.

Venkys took on the debt, which explains where the Barclays 'mortgage' comes in. I think that was/is about £18 million.

If - and I should stress 'if' - they were selling it would be up to them to get what they could.

Asked a couple of people in the circle of people who buy football clubs if there could be a buyer for Rovers and was greeted with laughter today.

The Trust did well to get rid from their point of view. It took over three years to find somebody clean.

It would be a miracle if somebody else was out there who would pay what Venkys did, including the debt.

Could it be possible that Venkys could give the club away for free and simply walk away? What if they have lined up a 'buyer' who they know will pass the PL fit and proper test (having recently done that themselves) and just say "here you go, its yours, good luck"

Could that happen?

Would Venky's actually care about getting their stake money back?

Could they not use the Phil Jones money (50% now, 50% later) to at least greatly reduce the mortgage, and then just sell the club for a quid?

They would lose about £25 m, but sometimes it's better to cut your losses up front. It's either that, or a death by a thousand cuts.

joe blue white, why are you having a go at alan? he is as sick about this situation as we are. He is only reporting other people's reaction, it doesnt mean he is laughing with them.

I dont thing he is 'sick about it' at all, why would he be? Puzzled, confused maybe.

Burying?

Get a grip.

The bottom line is that there won't be a queue of buyers.

Get realistic.

If you think the new owners can snap their fingers and find a buyer you need a reality check.

This is the WRONG time to be selling a football club - not just yours.

They are being judged on facts and their own words. I have not lost complete faith in them, but i don't see one sprout of optimism to cling to right now. The one plus they gained from many people was digging their heals in over Jones, but looking at it now were they trying to get the most money for Rovers or them?

well matty i think nicko is hurt by what has gone on because he has gotten to know us all on here and in that he knows what it is doing to us so he must feel some pain about what has happened otherwise he wouldnt go into such detail about why everything hs gone so bad behind the scenes.

43 million purchase of club

jones 16 million

samba potential 12 million

kailinic potential 4 million

ped potential 1 million +

(+ others )

33 million

club sold reduced rate of 30 million = 20 million profit. Not bad for 12 months doing nothing!!!!

I don't believe they are trying to sell, If that was the case they would have sold Samba already and pocketed the money, I also don't think they have come to the conclusion to sell the club only a month after trying to break the bank to keep Phil Jones. This is only based on my logic and obviously not on any insider information.

black burn you are right but it seems your freind is as naive as the venkys.

What do you expect? He works for the Venkys.

This is just my imagination, but I believe they talk about grandiose stuff in the workplace - and especially if you work for them you tend to be slanted toward their side.

Sure, there is no hope for optimism now, but the window isn't closed yet. For all we know, Venkys could do a hundred and eighty degree and splash out all 26 on two strikers and one midfielder on 28th July. Should we give them that chance?

Fact is, if they don't take their chance, then we roast them with our flamethrowers, and enjoy the finger-licking good meal after that.

But if they do come through for us in the next two months, I think fans will be won over. Their fate is entirely in their hands now.

Do you think we are definitely going to sell ?

If they answer is no. Maybe telling us you and your drinking buddies are having a good laugh about buying our small club is so funny to you all is maybe not such a great thing.

So basically, if the people looking for buyers to different clubs are laughing when they get asked about Rovers, then there is no bidder lined up. End of story then..?

I'm guessing that Kamy and others have got the information from people who are interested in buying the club.

Three possible scenarios

Logical:

1) Venkys have realised they cannot fund their intentioned assault on the top 6 and have been trying to secure a 'partner' who will add extra funding to the project. This would possibly explain both the shift in transfer kitty and people being approached to invest (as opposed to buy out) which triggers the 'for sale' rumours.

Culture:

2) IF the Venkys were selling - which would result in a HUGE loss of face and credibility both personally and globally to their core business. Is it possible that another wealthy Asian family might take a punt on the club, just to damage the Rao's pride even further?

Pie in the sky:

3) In the next 14 days our overlords pull off the signings of Witsel, Fabiano, Onuha and Bentley and everything in the Venky garden is rosy once more...
