The £17m overdraft transferred from Rovers to Venky's London secured against Rovers' assets is on a programme to be paid down over three years so if going down in a straight line will be £14m or so now.

The mortgage security of the new Rovers overdraft taken out by Venky's in December was in the order of £20m (half a season Sky money). I don't know how much of that they used but I understand the embarassment when the bank rang up last week was well over £10m.

Their stake in the only publicly-quoted part of their business is worth a bit under $300m but of curse they cannot easily turn that into cash as it is a 54% controlling stake. The price on Venky's shares is currently 618 rupees having had a low of 120 and a high of 990 within the last two years. That is not exactly solid.

A simple question really, how does one individual- Balaji manage to find 49 million to fund one player? How does he then manage to purchase cars worth over 10's of millions if they are worth about 200 million pounds?

with the amount of cars, bling and what not, it shouldnt be that hard to support a small club like ours. Not while pondering the the good pr they would recieve, should their project succeed.

Cars and bling cost tens, perhaps in some cases hundreds of thousands. And exotic cars and bling have atleast a decent re-sale value. Keeping our club afloat, ie. paying for the yearly losses even without any funds for transfers, costs millions of pounds - and you probably won't see a penny of that money again.

I told you what I read in the transfer thread. How would I know whether they have the money to buy it, or if it's a smokescreen, or what was the point of bidding it?

I saw Callumrovers and Makey posting that they heard Blackburn Rovers bidded 9 million -> I thought it probably meant we have cash to spend contrary to popular belief, brought it here as I thought it might be relevant. I have no insider knowledge and would not know anything of their motives for that bid.

And I have no idea how the weather is in Pune today. I can tell you it's raining in Yokohama though - seems that a typhoon has already hit Japan, and the Shikoku area bore most of its brunt, so I'm fine, thank you very much.

Think of the Roa's as the Walkers, they both had a late great father who made loads of dollar in their chosen industries. One group of inheritor's led a quiet life before cutting loose their fathers golden charm, the other bought loads of cars, tried film production and loved swimming with sharks. Two differing legacies from two great men and two differing ways to spend/invest your stupidly large inheritance.

Both men died around the same time, Dr V B Roa in 1996 and Jack RIP 2000, leaving behind such parallels story wise (its all on the web) between the two companies inherited and the consequent families histories. They just like the Walker family got their money through fate and their fathers endeavour.

One bought cars with daddy's dollar the other bought planes.

The 54% sounds more like daddy not wanting to give up his company completely but still wanting BIG dollar ala walker steel as they are the chicken overlords, still.

PS 30K people a day in India cost about £10.00 pp a month or 300K a month, most likely via whichever method makes it tax deductible.

You seem to be implying that I have an agenda of promoting Venkys by accusing me of being a Venkys employee or PR man or whatever.

But your posts, if I did not know better, read like you are so in support of the owners, no matter what they do.

That is something I find boggling, with regards to you and others.

They have made so many 'mistakes' that I can only see them continuing to mistakes. Rovers are not as big a club as some others in the prem, therefore they cannot afford to take risks. Mrs D, I really hope she will get rid of Kentario. Kean and anything related to them, once and for all. I actually believe that she does have the ability, but.

Although rumour, if she brought in Mark Hughes and his 'team' she would save her own investment, the club, her reputation. She would gain the support of the supporters. But she would have to say, this is the transfer fund, this is what is available, manage the club and the team. Build this club up.

People say Mark Hughes is ambitious, good and rightly so. But the way the club is at the moment, it would feed his ambition. I had my own issues with MH. But he the club as it is now if venkys let him get on with it, is ripe for somebody like him. Venkys need to have the guts to say "you know football, here is the money available, get on with it and we will back you".

Sadly it is not happening.

This has been recalled and is now the reason we can't spend a penny of the Jones money.
