[Archived] Rumour: Venky's To Sell?

Recommended Posts

You seem to be implying that I have an agenda of promoting Venkys by accusing me of being a Venkys employee or PR man or whatever.

That should answer your own question, even though such an accusation is false.

No, follow the thread, Chris used the word, phrase, as others have done of having an agenda. I answered his post. I also asked what agenda could people have. You are the one who implied I was refering to yourself. your name / post was not even mentioned.

To be fair to Philip, something positive has to happen before he can talk about it.

There has been very little positive news coming out of the club recently.

I have been a vehement critic of Phillip with, I think, some justification. He has a habit of passing down pronouncements from on high and expecting them to be given due credence simply because these pronouncements have come from him.

That having been said, he has started to put a bit more meat on the bones lately which has made him seem more humble and believable. For that he deserves a bit of credit. Also, I cant believe that his anti Venkys stance is still based purely on holding a torch for Ali Syed.

He still however, a long way from being a trusted sourse of information imo.

Just a thought. Have you considered that he - or others - have not been able for all sorts of reasons - to put meat on the bones.

You are entitled to your opinion, that I respect, I always will, for you and others. I may not always agree..

But your posts, if I did not know better, read like you are so in support of the owners, no matter what they do.

That is something I find boggling, with regards to you and others.

They have made so many 'mistakes' that I can only see them continuing to mistakes. Rovers are not as big a club as some others in the prem, therefore they cannot afford to take risks. Sorry if you found the sage and onion bit offensive. But some people post as though they are up a venkys chickens ar@@, blind and ready for the oven.

Simple fact your angry at the lack of activity and want blood.

I dislike Kean and not too fond of Venkys but only yesterday we were told we have money and be patience.

Let them prove themselves to be useless, but if the rumours get too aggressive they could be very damaging too.

Venky's also took out an extra £18 million loan.

This has been recalled and is now the reason we can't spend a penny of the Jones money.

Do you get it yet?

I find it hard to believe that these guys richer then probably Jack Walker was, do not have experts that can take care of this.

They could easily get another loan or whatever Barclays will know they are extemely rich and sort something out.

Mountain out of a mole hill.

Fair enough. But what agenda could anybody have. nobody has yet answered that.

I can only speak for myself - I haven't got any agenda.

Unless it involves supporting Blackburn Rovers.

I think it's the same for the others on here, and if people have information to share, they share it. I doubt they do it with malicious intent or with an agenda to spread unrest among fans, but I could just be naive.

They've proved themselves to be useless.

That's why they wasted most of an £18 million loan on magic beans and we can't now spend any of the Jones money.

They sacked a very good manager, brought in a novice and almost got us relegated.

They talked about Champions' League football and signing Ronaldinho and made us the laughing stock of English football.

Anyone who still supports them deserves to be marked out as a laughing stock themselves.

No No no. It is not just 'lack' of transfer activity that angers me. At the end of the day, if you are skint, you cannot spend.

It is the whole way venkys have gone about their ownership of the club. they have come in to a business, that they, admittedly accept they do not know much about, and allow, force, sack etc etc the very people who could help them.

I have no time for proud and arrogant people - no matter how much they may threaten or try to intimidate me (for example, I know your ip address etc etc). I spit such out - if anything it puts my back up and makes me more determined.

I have met many an idiot with money and yes taken it off some of them. Not all, because even I at times, few I admit, have to tell people they are being stupid with their money. Ironically I get more respect that way, but that is a different story.

We have money. patience, bid for this player, we are not a selling club etc etc. It is words only.

Ireland is bust so they won't have any money - very much the same as Venky's then.

What an idiotic statement! Our banks may be in the brown stuff along with our economy thanks to our equally idiotic government, but to say that as a result of this an Irish group won't have money to buy Venkys out is just plain stupid.

you are not a double glaze salemen are you, I heard about you tricking people into buying windows they don't need, mainly the elderly lol

your concerns are valid but your answers don't exist until a month from now.

I can;t say I was disappointed with the Jan window when they promised 5 million, and I am still expecting more this window three new player all of quality.

But we will see.

I do not need to be a salesman, especaially double glazing. Ironically, I won't even deal with the elderly, it is a 'market' I avoid by choice.

The club is being run by idiots that are based in India, in my most sincere opinion. I have no confidence in them whatsoever. The faster they sell the club and sod off the better - that is my agenda, no matter who knows my IP address.

I'm not taling about the loan I tink it will turn out to be tosh.

They sacked a geat mananger, but I tink it would have always happened, he's not very popular and his style of football was not the Venkys way they wanted.

I don't like Kean but I enjoyed the Wolves game and intoduction of the youngsters.

I'll give him 10 - 15 games to judge, if we are in the bottom 7 I thin he should go.

They are ambitious, they have to prove that with their funds and they have 5 weeks o provide that then we can judge. In 5 weeks they have no where to hide.

I would have bought the Ronaldinho shirt. Don't know if that was legit can't remember it much now.

Its only football no one will track you down over it.

Transfer activity is very important to me, three good signings and it would make up for some of the sh1t they have done.

We will see i'm 60/40 in favour of pulling off some signings, I'm more worried about Kean being able to pull then Venkys cash.

Sure, all those people are purely out there to make up a story about Blackburn Rovers.

His style of play was not what Venky's wanted. Is that the same Venky's who professed to have barely seen a football game in their lives?

You'll give him 10-15 games to judge. How about the 22 games last season?

I also didn't mention getting rid of John Williams.

Wake up and smell the coffee Chris.

TGM, I agree with you about all the points why they've shown themselves to be failures as owners, but you need to relax. I keep reading posts from you where you continually abuse and berate people just for having a different outlook on the matter. There's no need to get so worked up about it. All you're doing is stressing yourself out and everyone around you.

Venkys.

They mistook your goose for a chicken and fried it in salt, spices and everything nice.

Actually, that sounds kind of good.

But you shouldn't mis-characterize Reb like that, it's slanderous. He's not a goose. He's a turkey. :D

Mrs D sees the transfer budget as covering:

Transfer fee +

agent's fee +

transfer bonuses +

the full four years wages committed to in the contract

Make that over £20m for Honda

I don't mind that math, as long as the owners or the club cover the cost. Regardless of how the equation is done, buy the player but balance the books.

If he gives apologies to you for apologizing, I will probably feel the effect from here.

He's a very polite young man. Accept it and learn from it.

Sorry.

See? His good manners are rubbing off on you. I'm proud. :tu:

Today he claiming he knows how Mrs D plans her targets and finance is all inclusive.

Well how about they promised 5 million in Jan, was she including wages then hey:

Formica 3.5 million, 4 years at 35k = 7.2 miillion, bonus lets say 500k

Rochina 500k wages 30k 4 year contract = 6,2 million

J Jones at 60k 6months = 1.2 million

Santa Cruz at 90k 6months ish = 1.8 million

So infact Venkys spent according PhilipsL's rubbish over £20 million in Jan

Is that the around the amount of the second mortgage? If so, it lends credence to Philips's assertion.

The £17m overdraft transferred from Rovers to Venky's London secured against Rovers' assets is on a programme to be paid down over three years so if going down in a straight line will be £14m or so now.

The mortgage security of the new Rovers overdraft taken out by Venky's in December was in the order of £20m (half a season Sky money). I don't know how much of that they used but I understand the embarassment when the bank rang up last week was well over £10m.

There you go. Philip's number match yours under the "new" math regime. No need to quarrel.

The 54% sounds more like daddy not wanting to give up his company completely but still wanting BIG dollar ala walker steel as they are the chicken overlords, still. :):angry:

I read somewhere that considering the demographics and projected growth of India, and Venkys dominance in that market, they are very well positioned to see massive gains on their existing wealth over the next decade or two. It sounds like the Raos' father was very wise to hold on to 54%.

I'll give him 10 - 15 games to judge, if we are in the bottom 7 I thin he should go.

Kean has had 21 league games and a handful of others. He has not impressed. He personality grates. His inconsistency is destroying his credibility if it is not already gone. Time to move on.

Mark Hughes would be an outstanding replacement. Venkys' reputation would sky rocket that same instant.

Yes. A lot of the stuff they've reported HAS BEEN rubbish and IS rubbish. Not to mention that they're all getting the information from the one source. Other sources have reported different stories. The truth is somewhere in between, but it's not as sinister as some are claiming to be.

No one has any hard evidence about it, all they're passing on is gossip from sources who don't know the full picture.

I used to be critical of Phillip as well, but I think that was a classic example of shooting the messenger. I really wanted to believe that Venky's would turn out to be excellent owners, because I had been praying for new ownership for ages. Recently, Phillip has regularly broken news that has later on been confirmed by various other sources, and I hold my hand up and admit that I was wrong in my previous criticism of him and his views on Venky's/Kentaro/SEM.

Has anyone posted this monster of a post from glen9mullan on Vital Football?

http://www.blackburn...6188&start=1186

I know people will still be more keen to continue reading and believing nicko's sensationalist rubbish, but this is a very good read.

Quick update..........

Guys, unless you're the original author, please don't go and paste entire copyrighted articles from other forums, just link to them.

Anyway, it's a great read, so I encourage you to go and read it on Vital's site ...

On the Kean front.

The rumours of Kean going are strong enough, the Kentaro split so certain, and his general uselessness so apparent that he has got to be first favourite PL manager to lose his job.

However, the weight of inside talk points firmly to him being safe for the time being under Venky's ownership.

On the cash front.

I know this is utterly perverse but I am sticking to this:

Balaji has thrown money at Rovers (£49m of it) but it was for his agenda, not the football club's.

The family are sitting tight as far as they can on the (much smaller allocation of) family money and not releasing it to Rovers AT THE MOMENT.

I am as certain as I can be that the Mail and Mirror have got the story right about the overdraft being called in.

Apart from that, the internal fall outs within the Rao family and with Kentaro and, to some extent, Kean reported on by Vital do tally with what I have heard.
