[Archived] Rumour: Venky's To Sell?

Recommended Posts

Times jorno on TalkSport

Venkys don't have the cash.

They are a PLC company so can they get money in to the club?

Venkys profit only 23 million last year not enough for the EPL.

He is very worried about Rovers and he has heard the stories.

Kean is a new manager and no control over the club so no control over transfer.

Rovers at best can stay in the EPL.

Why is Kean talking about a large investment, when everyone knows there is no money?

Football Authorities have looked at Venkys and are happy there is money in the company.

The Times jouno contradicts himself- don't blame him because the Rovers "direction" is utterly self-contradictory, confused and made up as the Venky's go along as each revelation (which is blindingly obvious to Rovers fans) slowly dawns on the detached bungalows of Pune.

Yes there is/has been money in Rovers but can we use it?

The bank clearly don't think so.

Incidentally, if Mrs D genuinely has taken 100% control it is far more likely Rovers will be sold.

No I didn't- I was going off your bullet points:

Alan Brazil asked him a question which I can't 100% remember and that was his reply.

Probably enough money to satisfy the authorities, but nowhere near enough money to make significant improvements on a threadbare squad headed for the Championship..

would be my guess.

The annoying thing is in the old day someone would email John Williams or there would be an interview and he would answer all the questions as honestly has he could and everyone would relax. Now this snowball is large than Kean and Roberts telling us how wonderful everything is at Ewood.

Really? When did the clubs communicate and answer the supporters about rumours?

Who is going to buy a club when there is no money to be made ?

If there are bigger and better owners out there then why didn't they take over last year when it was the perfect time to do this ?

Didn't Kamy say that Venkys are not planning to sell ?

Argghhh this is driving me mad !!

I have been a vehement critic of Phillip with, I think, some justification. He has a habit of passing down pronouncements from on high and expecting them to be given due credence simply because these pronouncements have come from him.

That having been said, he has started to put a bit more meat on the bones lately which has made him seem more humble and believable. For that he deserves a bit of credit. Also, I cant believe that his anti Venkys stance is still based purely on holding a torch for Ali Syed.

He still however, a long way from being a trusted sourse of information imo.

The problem with Philips information is he simply posts little snippets and that winds everyone up, only the privileged few on PM actually get the low down on whats going on. Then once a story breaks he says “I told you so” which to most on the site he never did tell.

But more recently he’s had to up his game, due to other posters, that are clearly privy to information he is and beyond, giving out good information, and I make no apologies for naming Zac here, his info has mostly been bang on, although he’s an annoying ******! :D

As for the Hughes, Kean sacking etc that set the hares running on Tuesday, just goes to show you can’t believe everyone, that stuff was complete and utter bunkum for me, others may think different, but that’s my opinion.

This is as deluded and wide of the mark as Gav has been on Venky's.

I simply post what can be safely put on here.

Talksh!te radio.....enough said!! <_<

Problem we have in this country is that nobody knows anything about Venkys, their personal wealth or any of their private companies. Therefore the media speculate as they cannot be arsed to dig for real news on little old Blackburn.

The bank have called in the over-draft....big deal - go and get another from one of the other banks in the world.

I can easily believe one but definitely not the other.

On the Kean front.

The rumours of Kean going are strong enough, the Kentaro split so certain, and his general uselessness so apparent that he has got to be first favourite PL manager to lose his job.

However, the weight of inside talk points firmly to him being safe for the time being under Venky's ownership.

On the cash front.

I know this is utterly perverse but I am sticking to this:

Balaji has thrown money at Rovers (£49m of it) but it was for his agenda, not the football club's.

The family are sitting tight as far as they can on the (much smaller allocation of) family money and not releasing it to Rovers AT THE MOMENT.

I am as certain as I can be that the Mail and Mirror have got the story right about the overdraft being called in.

Apart from that, the internal fall outs within the Rao family and with Kentaro and, to some extent, Kean reported on by Vital do tally with what I have heard.

What do you think is the purpose of Keans and Jensen trip to India today is?

Why do people keep saying that, their main company is listed on the Mumbai Stock Exchange. These are real people not ghosts.

its about time this was said, and the people who say "there in the know" should get of there backs and start trying for once to get behind the club and stop trying to look into everything as if there experts when really they dont know the whole picture

Daily Mail: Rovers have money problems

Daily Mirror: Rovers have money problems

LET: Jason Roberts scored a hattrick against Oldham

Spot on.

Generally, I can't believe that Venky's have had such a relatively easy ride from the press.

The LT, IMO, has been so benign in its investigations and reporting that its time they got off their arse and started asking the right questions. If they wont be answered then they start writing poignant headlines and articles based on their 'understanding'. Not sure whether Andrew Cryer is up to this or not or it's his superiors that are reigning him in. Whatever, it's a feckin disgrace when the local paper is meant to be the heartbeat of its community. Does anyone remember David Allin (LET reporter) when Iley was manager - my goodness, Allin didn't half stir the pot in the corridors of power at Ewood.

Because Barry White Venky is in love with the idea of us beating Barcelona next May in the Champion's League, with a team fed on GM chicken bits?
