Have been told that the topic of selling Rovers is now closed. Venky's are going to push forward with their plans for the club.

There is now a recognition that decision making is taking far to long and that is an area that is going to be looked at ASAP, they also realise that the vision that they had about Kentaro helping to run the club has not worked.

The meeting between Kean and the owners from what I hear was a very Frank exchange of views, no idea what this means re Kean's future, but don't think he will be sacked.

Maybe the recognition that there are problems will now mean that these issues will be addressed, and Kean being very frank with the owners will result in some clarity re transfer funds.

I can't reveal all that I have been told bur for the first time in a long time I feel more positive and there is some light at the end of the tunnel.

What role do you feel yourself coming back from holiday has had on the club?

Well, they are approx. 4 to 5 hours ahead of us in India.

Anyone seen any white smoke or heard the jungle drums yet ?

I hate these clueless bast*rds with a deep deep passion for their nonchalant destruction of the club and it's structure.

But what can we do? In my estimation we are nearly powerless. One thing I can do is regretably boycott all things Indian.

Too bad, because I'll miss the odd adventure w/ an Indian lady or lamb vindaloo. :(

But that does it, the decision has been made. I'm standing on principal for my beloved Rovers!

Kamy, are you in direct personal contact with Venky's or know people who are?,can I ask, have you tried to relay the fans feelings of frustration and utter bewilderment with their tenure to date?

Are they actually aware of the level of anger being aimed at them because of their ineptitude?

It just seems to be an ever widening gap of 'them and us' <_<

They'd better not actually say that is what they were doing because:

1) They put in writing to the PL in their fit and proper review they would not involve any agents in the running of the club.

2) They will have systematically been breaking PL rules if Kentaro have been helping to run the club.

To be fair Phil, it has been an unwritten accepted practise that Kentaro were the "preferred partner" in transfer dealings. Right or wrong, we all knew that. Running the club is probably too strong a word but heavily influenced the running of the club probably would not be too far from the actual truth.

I for one am relieved tha tthey have been "demoted" to the same status as every other agency in dealings in the transfer market.

this also acknowledges that Kentaro have not done what was expected of them by Venkys!

Sorry if I am several months behind, but who actually owns rovers? Before you laugh at such a crazy question, from what I recall a company (Venky's London) was set up. Is this a subsiduary of the main Venky's group or is it seperately owned directly by the family?

I have told them on many many many occasions how fans feel, even wrote them a report before United game with a large number of quotes from this website which illustrated how fans were feeling. The big problem is that they are very removed from fans being in Pune and surrounded by yes people who don't tell them about negative perceptions of fans.

Hopefully soon we will do podcast on this issue and hopefully get a large number of fans opinions on there, that like the previous 2 podcasts will be delivered to the owners.

Is it wrong for me to want to like the owners?? I feel they have trusted Kentaro to advise them with the experience that they lack. Clearly they have advised badly and now all can see. Hopefully they will be more hands on now and 'make things happen'.

Don't hold your breath

I also want to like the owners. From what I can read, they seem to want to do well by the Rovers. The problem is a large disconnect between the intent and the end result.

They need a trusted chairman who is involved day in and day out. They need an experienced, strong manager. In my opinion, the club won't advance, despite the owners intent, until they get those two persons in place and then trust them to do their job.

If they're worried about being taken advantage of, place an experienced businessman/cousin in the role of chairman, and then make Paul Hunt his assistant for his footballing knowledge.

Thanks Kamy.

I have never known a new owner of a business seemingly want to cut off/isolate itself from its customers. They have had time to rectify these PR problems but nothing has moved forward, infact it appears to have worsened!

It really is bizarre to say the least.

Thanks Kamy - so as predicted, many giant storms in a teacup. Balaji was never going to sell, Kean was never going to get fired and we were never going to get 50M for transfers. Slow even dull transfer window for us then. Let's hope that we end up with more than a very expensive 34 year old. I'll forgive them almost everything if they sign Junior and keep Samba. Hopefully we may even drag a few frees in to bulk up the numbers.

Hopefully by the next transfer window they will be considered football hardened by passing through this school of hard knocks and they'll make a better fist of it in time for the season run-in.

What plans for the club? They haven't got any ###### plans for the club. From day 1, they've blundered in and completely screwed up this football club because the idiot half-wit ###### morons don't know what they're bloody doing and have eliminated anyone with any expertise from the club.

The only plans they've put on record they've contradicted the very next day, BECAUSE THEY DON'T BLOODY KNOW WHAT THE BLOODY HELL THEY'RE DOING!

Please don't say they're pushing on with their plans because it makes it sound like they know what they're doing and it makes it sound like the last 8 months have in some way been by their design rather than a complete and utter trucking bloody TRUCK-UP!

Kean may have given them a few pointers, but it will take a step change in attitude for transfer monies to be made available, and even then it will be the unconvincing Kean deciding who to get.

Unless it's the fat-fingered pony-tailed fat lad who starts buying up glamour signings and telling the over-promoted coach who to play.

First and foremost thanks for the post Kamy. Interesting stuff to say the least.

Why do you feel more positive though? You mention that they are surrounded by 'yes men', that they are isolated in Pune and that despite getting rid of Kentaro it sounds like they are sticking with their Kentaro man, Kean.

If it takes a BRFCS Podcast to get the fans point of view across then God help us. It's taken them 8 months to realise that they're listening to the wrong people. Most of us could have told them that within 5 minutes.

Who are they going to listen to now? Which football people are they going to put in place at Ewood Park who will run the show on their behalf* - or are they to carry on in the farcical manner we are now with the manager flying out to Pune every 4 weeks when a decision needs to be made?

(*Don't get me wrong they sign the cheques but at the end of the day they admit to knowing nothing about football and that will remain to be the case when they are surrounded by 'yes men' and they are getting the majority of your info from a man who believes we should be knocking on the door of the Champions League and Myles Anderson is a Premier League footballer).

Did they mention / discuss transfers? Many more to leave Kamy? Any incoming? I don't want names - there's a seperate area for that in the Fantasy Island area, I'd just like to know if they realise that we are horribly under strength at this moment in time for the new season.

So business as usual then for Rovers. Cannot understand your reason to be positive. Kean and owners shared their views - but nothing about what was decided, if anything. Knowing communication / decision making isn't good, is ok. But how are they going to address those areas. Do they not realise they still need a chairman? A doctor? and players to build up the depleted squad.

This is not a dig at you, I just wish I could be as positive as you are!!!!!!!

By positive I meant that this is the first time that they have acknowledged these kind of problems, hopefully the next step is to solve these problems. This is not to say that things are fine, because they are not. Venky's have created a mountain of problems that they need to solve quickly because the club is in a state of limbo/meltdown. However the situation can still be retrieved if they act fast.
