Stuart Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 He did mention when Rovers went up for sale by the trust he managed to put together a consortium who were thinking seriously of putting in a bid. He got his fair share of stick for the post but he was deadly serious. Yeah, I remember that too. That's where I was coming from. I wonder if his consortium are looking to make a bid to Venkys or if he was joking. Eddie, if you are reading - the first thing you need to do post-takeover is arrange a BRFCS party in the Premier Suite! Who is Eddie? A guy who posts on here. He's based in France but I'm honestly not sure if he's French or English. Seems a good guy though - regardless!

keaney23 Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 Wouldn't that be the dream, A Blackburn fan taking Rovers back from the Venkys.
beerwins Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 Wouldn't that be the dream, A Blackburn fan taking Rovers back from the Venkys. I would settle for someone with an IQ score higher than the cookie monster.
Majiball Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 Rip seats out and throw them at venkys box! Frozen chickens will be my objectile of choice.
Stuart Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 I would settle for someone with an IQ score higher than the cookie monster. Cookie Monster says: "how dare you!" And... "COOOKKIEEEEEES"
Majiball Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 Jisty, why have you written about cookiemonster and then inserted a pic of Kean?
bob fleming Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 The answer? He's good on the phone, no need for anymore costly flights. It's a gamble but could he do any worse? I mean sod all that PR and "Marketing the product in Brazil nonsense", so long as he's got cookies there won't be an issue, he'll be happy. Kean would be pleased if he kept him on, then we'd have a muppet in charge of a puppet.
beerwins Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 Well he certainly is more famous and well known that Venky's, seems a little one track minded though. But I stand by my IQ remark.
Stuart Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 Jisty, why have you written about cookiemonster and then inserted a pic of Kean?
tonyoz Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 Well now you're changing the argument from "we can't protest", to "we shouldn't protest". I'm not going to lead any protests Gumboots, but if fans believe that the club is being damaged and they want to have their say, then good luck to them. As for it affecting the team, well Venky's are affecting the team now aren't they? Protest can be for the good. If the protests succeed in making Venkys see the error of their ways, what happens next? They were hoping that Premier League success would shine a bright light on Venkyworld but instead it is becoming an embarrassing liability. And they can't even bring their mates round to show off their shiny new team. They decide to get out maybe - but no one wants to buy a bag of crap. We enter a phase that we recognise. The owners have lost interest, refuse to invest and hope to survive on zero investment until rich new owners gallop to the rescue. Sigh! Here's an alternative scenario. Everybody gets the "New Season Fever" and turns up to Ewood bursting with hope and anticipation........and bugger me............the form of the last 4 games of last season continues....we cheer and chant until we are hoarse and stuff Wolves 5-0 again. Roberts scores a 1 on 1 and Kalinic gets a hat-trick. Everything is right with the world once again. Well it could happen!!!
Ripleys love child Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 I think nicko needs to hack into venkys voicemail to find out what the #### is going on
chaddyrovers Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 Nelsen did go to India with Kean. and our new Mr Fix-it is Steve Wood http://www.people.co.uk/sport/football/news/2011/07/24/blackburn-skipper-joins-boss-kean-in-crisis-talks-with-club-owners-102039-23292625/
pick32 Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 Venky's search for director of football Sorry if been posted before it can only be a positive sign.
keaney23 Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 Venky's search for director of football Sorry if been posted before it can only be a positive sign. I think this is the most positive news I've heard in a very long time. I hope its true and their acting fast in their search. Ive said before that we could sign Messi and Ronaldo and still be in a mess due to having no foundation behind the scenes at the club. As fans all we want to care about is buying our ticket and seeing exciting players entertain us on a Saturday afternoon hence why all our focus and frustrations are on Venkys and our shallow squad list. Heres a thought, maybe the set back in any movement this summer is due to Kentero and Venkys split. Evidently Kentero have been running our club since the take over despite the denial. Kentero's departure was sudden and very much unexpected. How much did that effect us? Is that what were are witnessing now? It kind of makes sense, as its left Venkys CLUELESS. Mrs D and the trotter brothers do not know football at all, or do they have any contacts in the game. We are certainty seeing that right now. The club as a whole is empty behind the scenes and building foundations of a football club will take a lot of time and a lot of smart appointments. If thats what this dark summer has been about then I could accept it as its in the best interest of Blackburn Rovers long term future.
broadsword Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 Venky's search for director of football Sorry if been posted before it can only be a positive sign. Bit late in the day to be recognising this. I've never been convinced about "director of football" positions. We certainly need a chief exec though. Despite this, they've given the job of finding one to an indian head-hunter who's a mate of their's! D'oh! God knows who we'll end up with. Shame about the one we got rid of.
Backroom trueblue Posted July 24, 2011 Backroom Posted July 24, 2011 Venky's search for director of football Sorry if been posted before it can only be a positive sign. What scares me about that article is that he's looking at League 2 club officials to fill the post!!! Bloody 'ell we'll soon be playing the new 'Director of Football's' old club if that happens!
philipl Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 This is Ali Merchant's busiiness home page As you gasp in awe at its amazing sophistication, remember this is a marketing company. League 2 is perhaps too sophisticated and big ticket for this guy's level.
Ripleys love child Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 Just seen an interview on ssn of venkys and kean and everything looks fine and dandy to me. I think everyone needs to chill a bit and not listen to the scaremongering mongrels on this M B
Black Burn Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 What's wrong with hiring League 2 officials? I'm pretty sure hiring League 2 officials have nothing to do with our status as a Premiership club - if they can do the job and run their posts well enough, isn't that good? It's not like we are buying League 2 players, they are running the club, not playing our football for us. That's like saying we have to change our director of football whenever we get promoted from one league to the next in order to stay competitive in the new league. I thought all clubs are run the same way in the management level, whether you're a league 2 club or premiership club. I can understand if you're talking about League 2 players, but officials? How would they cause the team to get relegated? Since I'm not clear about this, please enlighten me on the subject. Just seen an interview on ssn of venkys and kean and everything looks fine and dandy to me. We can't believe a word they say!"
bob fleming Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 Venkys and Kean can't be trusted, judging on the previous 8 months we clearly can't believe a word they say.
Black Burn Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 Venkys and Kean can't be trusted, judging on the previous 8 months we clearly can't believe a word they say. There you go. I told you so, Ripley.
jim mk2 Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 What's wrong with hiring League 2 officials? !" Nothing wrong. After all, the M & S chief executive's previous job was running a corner shop. I'm pretty sure hiring League 2 officials have nothing to do with our status as a Premiership club You're "pretty sure" so that's OK. I can breathe easily and not worry that Venky's are making yet another crass decision.
Ripleys love child Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 I really believe venkys are good people and want what's best for rovers but they just haven't got a clue how to go about it. Hopefully they are learning and realised the mistakes they've made . The time to judge will no doubt be on 1st of sept

Black Burn Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 Nothing wrong. After all, the M & S chief executive's previous job was running a corner shop. You're "pretty sure" so that's OK. I can breathe easily and not worry that Venky's are making yet another crass decision. And now M & S turned into an extremely successful franchise. So it's not as if a League 2 official can't do the job for a Premiership clib. Most people are "pretty sure" that Venkys are going to sell all our best players and not buy even a single player, even though the transfer window closes. Just because I'm pretty sure of something doesn't mean I'm right about it. I did say "since I'm not clear about this, please enlighten me" as well, but as always people read the parts of my stuff selectively to take me out of context and skim over the rest. Ripley, is your name a reference to Ellen Ripley from the Aliens series? Just curious. Well, if they are that good at their jobs then why haven't they been snapped up before now by Premier League clubs? Isn't it because they already have their own officials and don't need others? I thought officials are different from players. Unlike players who come and go and transfer to bigger clubs, officials stay for the long term? Or is the management structure different from what I've thought?
