Paul Mellelieu Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 The Roversinder stuff stacks up with what we can see from the outside. And if true, Venkys are not the only party to blame. Step forward the charlatans at Kentaro, and the Trust for selling the club to our new owners. And around 16,000 poor souls have paid up to cheer on the team they cherish. Poor souls. There needs to be a protest at the first game if no players are signed and the owners fail to get a grip on the situation.
roversmum Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 To be fair, most of that possible scenario was pointed out by Den some time ago...
John Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 CryerRovers Andrew Cryer Balaji Rao on sky saying no financial problems .... and perfect timing, he turns up to emphasise the point I made that he is the problem. Again, another lie - some of us are aware of the current panic behind the scenes and whilst not problems, it is certainly financial mismanagement. Really is a circus, I would love anyone to try and tell me otherwise. Only positive thing I can take is that Venkys are trying to sort it all out,,,,,I await with baited breath.

den Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 I really believe venkys are good people and want what's best for rovers but they just haven't got a clue how to go about it. Hopefully they are learning and realised the mistakes they've made . The time to judge will no doubt be on 1st of sept Why? Will a couple of signings convince you they know what they're doing? It will take a lot more for me Ripley.

Taggart Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 If to be believed, its quite a good article, but to be honest, they really need to start backing up their claims about money before the season starts. if the interview is true and honest, it explains alot about him directly addressing the rumour mill which is currently in overdrive and hostile towards Venkys. good for them for giving an interview, its a small step in the right direction, they just need to continue to traverse that path with some signings that actively improve the team, and not just supplement the existing team
John Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 I find Venkys quite ignorant and patronising personally - if they start making normal/decent decisions I might start showing them some respect.
BangkokRover Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 CryerRovers Andrew Cryer Balaji Rao on sky saying no financial problems .... and perfect timing, he turns up to emphasise the point I made that he is the problem. Cryer or Balaji?
G Somerset Rover Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 There needs to be a protest at the first game if no players are signed and the owners fail to get a grip on the situation. Agreed. Regardless of it being our first game a protest of some sort must take place against the way our club is being run (post match) if we're still to see stability and any signings. It isn't against the players and I'm sure they'll realise that. Heck I'd bet they'd join in if there wasn't a game to play.
booth Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 I am a stooge for thinking Ellen Ripley ahead of Stuart Ripley. I also happen to be a science-fiction horror fan, which is why the first Ripley that popped into my mind was Ellen Ripley instead. But since I'm a stooge who can't even supposedly remember the name of legendary football players, I don't deserve to be a Blackburn fan. I understand, I get the message.I have also proved that I am not a fan by supposedly defending Venkys. Oh dear... I read your question and instantly thought "rumbled!" ANY true Rovers fan would know it's a reference to Stuart Ripley and not a science fiction reference on a Rovers message board. If we were on a different board then I'd say you received a harsh reaction. Or perhaps even if it was a bit more obscure like "Richard Brown's Love Child"... Even "Roy Wegerley's Love Child" and you asked where that came from. But Ripley is pretty obvious so you can't blame people for thinking you're totally clueless. Even if you are a sci-fi fan. I like the Aliens films too but if I saw a reference to Ripley on a BR forum I wouldn't instantly think that they mean Sigourney Weaver! And you're leaving because you've been rumbled, not because you've taken offense. Perhaps not as a Venky's stooge, but you have certainly been found out as not being a Rovers fan.

If that's the case why the heck didn't they come out and explain, when the rumours started spreading? I don't know whether to give a sigh of relief, worry that these people are still in charge, or not believe anything at all that they say. Boy who cried wolf syndrome kicking in.
booth Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 This is Ali Merchant's busiiness home page As you gasp in awe at its amazing sophistication, remember this is a marketing company. League 2 is perhaps too sophisticated and big ticket for this guy's level. If there's any more proof needed that Venky's are trying to do things on the (very) cheap, then this is it.
