Back on topic what I can reveal is that IF the club is being sold then the buyers are not the Walker family or Saurin Shah.

Whilst unsubstantiated rumour, you clearly have an idea of who the party involved (in said rumour) may be. Whilst I appreciate you can't divulge identities etc Can you put any kind of timescale on any proposed takeover - based on the rumour from said source?

This transfer window is the most important for years, fail to strenghthen and we'll be fighting relegation for sure. The main 'news' priority for me is knowing whether the reported £26 million is available regardless of any external bidding.

Kamy, Glenn.

What's wrong with posting rumours - nothing. Rumours are posted all the time - and you don't delete them do you? No, neither should you.

Getting very fed up with people who don't want any criticism of the club posting on here. The argument is that these rumours could harm the club. How exactly? Giving this rumour exposure on here gives Venky's the chance of knocking it stone dead. That might do them a favour at the end of the day.

Keep up the good work guys.

Its not an argument at all, just a matter of opinion - I just think that these sorts of rumours carry more harm, and set off more alrm bells ringign than your usual type of rumour, hence I think its the last thing needed at the moment, given the reaction of fans to a lack of signings etc, shows what little tit bits people get and how the world is comign to an end, this just enhances all the negativity and there is no evidence to back it up as yet.

Who's grinding who down ? Am I not allowed to have an opinion ?

Of course you are entitled to your opinion. I only replied to your post as it was the last one on the thread, at the time on the subject.

But if you read the thread as a whole people have differing opinions - so be it.

I was not being critical of yourself - so please do not take it that way.

I don't think any decisions that Venky's have made, is as a result of anything posted on here Taggart. They have one simple way out here - flatly deny the rumour. Two minutes of a job.

Some of you really need to take off those blue and white tinted specs. Rovers really aren't a club that you can make serious money from and whoever bought it would have to put money in knowing that. Those who took offense from comments which tell the honest and perhaps painful truth need to get real.

Disagree to some extent there RVR. Rovers are probably one of the few clubs with the potential to make some money on, due to the low purchase price of the club and assets. You only need to look at the transfer fees knocking around to see that. Aa a premier league club we are in a position to take on young players with potential and give them a shop window. One or two successes each year would equate to huge transfer fees.

That clearly won't happen overnight; it requires a large initial investment in the playing side, excellent scouting networks, a management structure in place capable of developing this business model and a HUGE amount of luck.

What is becoming increasingly clear is that Venkys are neither astute enough, or lucky enough to pull it off.

Yep, okay, think we are looking at this from two different angles, I agree with both you statements above BTW

Exactly RVR.

However, this board has been like this ever since the takeover. Anybody who has questioned some of the brainless decisons have been shouted down.

Sam gone-

'GOOD, they want a manager in to play proper football. get over it'

Kentaro/SEM in a pivotal role and leeching out millions in 'fees'-

'WHAT'S WRONG WITH THAT? They hace contacts, stop being so negative'.

Kean appointed-

'IT's ONLY TEMPORARY, wait till Jol takes over.'

Kean appointed full time-

'GIVE HIM A CHANCE, least we are playing football the right way'.

We don't win for 3 months-

'Whoa we didn't want Sam sacked, we said at the end of the season or when we had a PROPER replacement lined up, honest that's what I said at the time.

Kean wants Champions League (with a 5million a window budget)-

'Yeah, it's called ambition, who says we can't? Not like the Trust.

JW and TF depart-

'About time, ALL takeovers get rid of the existing senior management'.

And so on and so on, it has been a complete mess from day one and I have hated being 'negative' as up until this year I was one of THE most positive Roverites you could wish to meet. But sometimes, you just have to look at what is unfolding in front of you.

Hope yes, blind faith in people that obviously do not have a clue- NO.

excellent post matty.

might i add, that almost an entire transfer window and almost every article about it, is nothing but rumours. Why arent the same people gunning nicko down, when he throws them a bone, regarding a transfer rumour.

they vague excuse or reasoning is, that it hurts the club, but imo thats what the last 7-8 months have felt like under venky "leadership".

venky´s have repeatedly messed up, but changing owners at this moment in time, might not be the best thing to do. If they decided to sell, i would hope they realise, that its easier to sell a product which is debt-free and rather succesfull = a squad ready to compete in the epl

I wanted Sam gone, it was ###### football. I would've preferred it not to be mid-season and to be replaced by a manager. I think we got unlucky with results but the football was better. The sacking of Williams et al could've been viewed as the owners wanting to be more involved with the club.

That's how many people saw it. What's wrong with that? Not everyone knows what's going on behind the scenes and sometimes it's only natural to see/hope for the best in people and hope that the learning curve was what was leading to mistakes.

There's a distinct difference now though if their blind ignorance has turned into ignorant selfishness. Whilst still unsubstantiated though, I will continue hoping that they can rectify this because there's nothing else to do. Hope or blind faith, it's up to you. Doesn't matter to me, not because the situation doesn't matter, just because the situation is out of my hands.

Sorry Kamy I have no idea why you are defending yourself. Everyone knows this is a rumor if they want proof that is their own problem.

Yet you criticise for Nicko for doing the same thing!

It is bordering on farcical. So many people RAGING who aren't actually reading. I actually find the fact we're being accused of peddling a lie to intentionally damage the club very very insulting.

explain how you are not, glenn ?

at the very least its throwing more fuel on the venkys bonfire!

can you not see the damage it has already caused.. with more to come ?

So, if this is true, does that mean we got lied to when Kean said they offered Jones that silly wage to keep him? I assume Venky's wouldn't make that sort of offer and would of preferred to sell anyway?

Also, what is the hold up with Samba, they might as well just sell him for a decent amount of money while they can. Before we get relegated.

the same person who told me we had a bid of 50m turned down for the club also told me Jones had NOT Been offered silly money to stay...I know who told him this and who/ when he was out in clitheroe ..I've no way of proving this its hearsay but I'd say very credible hearsay.

Giving this rumour exposure on here gives Venky's the chance of knocking it stone dead. That might do them a favour at the end of the day.

Venky’s could knock these “rumours” stone dead if that is the case and perhaps communicate properly/honestly with the fans for once – is that too much to ask for?

So it could be DW or Syed then ???

I very much doubt it'd be Dave Whelan (if that is who you are referring to). He's looking at a way out of Wigan really, a club that he loves and has brought through the leagues, I doubt he'd just ditch them to buy another club, even Rovers.

Arguing that people are claiming that "the world is coming to an end" is as daft as arguing that their opponents are arguing that "everything in the garden is wonderful".

There are a few at each end of the spectrum but 99% of us believe something between those two extremes. Right now I think things are going badly wrong but hope its not too late for us to recover.

would you rather stick ya head in the sand and sing lalalsla

He would.
