So is there any more info on the "rumour" yet?

I thought that Venky's would have at least come out and denied it by now if nothing else.

They don't know which way to jump, so they probably don't want to show their hand by confirming or denying anything.

I think they've painted themselves into a right corner here. who knows, maybe they could start paying the players in chickens?

In my opinion they're in over their heads, they don't know whether to go sh1t or bust, so their solution is not doing anything at all, which isn't a solution. You can't gain anything with a closed hand, if they want to make a success of things (or just stop it being a catastrophe) they need to spend some dough.

I very much doubt it'd be Dave Whelan (if that is who you are referring to). He's looking at a way out of Wigan really, a club that he loves and has brought through the leagues, I doubt he'd just ditch them to buy another club, even Rovers.

I assume he is talking about the fat ginger bloke dan williams who tried for the club a few years ago. Got slagged off by most on here, but if the email address for him on here which was genuine, he seemed a very decent bloke.

Whether or not the rumour is true, it leads to speculation. We are allowed to speculate about our club and as a result, we discuss our clubs past, present and future.

No I meant Dave Whelan. Sorry if that is a ridiculous suggestion, but I was just hoping against hope. I know he's not spectacularly rich, and I think Wigan do have debts, but he does at least care for Rovers and he does know what he's doing. He can't be enjoying watching the Venky's debacle one little bit.

I just wondered IF the Phil Jones money had been used to pay off the debt whether we might be affordable to him in a way we were not nine months ago.

Also - to those who heard the rumour before it hit this forum - any chance of any clues who the supposed interested parties might be??

I think this topic should be locked, and only updated once some evidence or fact is established to back up this thread.

i.e when Kamy gets some more info, then post it on here, but lock the thread until then, i agree with some other posters, that the undertones of this are damaging, or have the potential to be.

The problem with locking threads is it doesn't stop people talking about it, it just means they talk about it in the wrong places. We've learnt this the hard way (and that trying to get people not to discuss things at all causes even worse problems).

Far too many people on here these days are taking this messageboard stuff too seriously. For the majority of people on here, Glenn and Kammy could be mischief making burnley fans just after a rise out of the posters on this site as could Nicko.
