leerovers1980
im in contact with a journalist from india and he has tweeted me @leebrown15 I suppose Venkys will not sell #rovers now. In fact they have started to enjoy the atmosphere, glory and publicity of EPL.

Mullionvagrant
I hope this clears a few things up and puts a few fans at rest!!! Please read and take note. "I am not into any name game. I want to concentrate on the proper game and get ahead. We are buying one or two strikers and a few midfielders," Rao said in a telephone interview. "We have to pump in money if we have to buy players. But I can't disclose the amount. The money that came out from Phil Jones' transfer is also there for the club and will be used in the transfers." Rao added that the owners planned a long-term involvement with the club from the Lancashire mill town. "This is a life-time association. My son is also very interested with it and will take over soon when he grows up," he said. "He is 17 and will be on the board when he becomes 17" "Within one-and-a-half years we are coming up with an academy and a stadium in Pune. It will be known as Blackburn Academy Pune." Speedie Dived
Actually, it wasn't about the credibility or their sources that Kamy and Glenn posted this topic. It was because there was already a rumor floating about that Venkys was going to sell, and some of these rumors had crept up on other threads, causing posters to go off topic, so they decided to create an entirely new thread about Venkys selling. They believe it would be discussed in other threads anyway, so why not make an entirely new one? Though they trusted and respected their sources, they knew it was only a rumor and they weren't going to create a topic solely because they thought their sources were credible. In the end, what drove them to create the thread was the fact that the rumors were already being discussed elsewhere. Zaccaius, would you be so kind as to enlighten us who your father is? You did demand names and sources from JAL when he mentioned something about the academy going downhill and coaches being sacked, so hopefully you can take your advice and provide a name as well. That's about as spot on as it get's. Good post (had to agree with you eventually) I hope this clears a few things up and puts a few fans at rest!!! Please read and take note. Sverre
"I am happy with how the club came out of relegation. The players fought very well," Rao said. "The boys are really trying hard and they are doing the best they can. We are also happy with coach Steve Kean. He has brought the team together." PAFELL
As predicted - Balaji does not want to sell. We are to be strengthened in the boardroom though when his son turns 21 so that's something to look forward to, I wonder what he'll be directing - probably to early to ask at this stage. I believe the rumours are correct but as I keep saying a willing buyer needs a willing seller or it doesn't happen. Balaji is not a willing seller clearly. Unless someone convinces him otherwise then things go no further. Isn't the article a rehash of what has been said elsewhere about not chasing marque / big name players etc. The getting Rovers interest in India and Indian players etc is also from the original plan. The part about the son is new, also playing 'tournament in India', where I thought it was just one match, before hong kong. Balaji is one of four owners. So it looks like divided owners. I want to concentrate on the proper game and get ahead. We are buying one or two strikers and a few midfielders," Rao said in a telephone interview. Sounds better but... Didn't Mrs Desai say on monday that we were looking to bring in a couple of strikers and defenders? They never seem to know what the other is on about! Prefer Balaji's version personally. Would be gutted if we didn't strengthen in the middle.
TimmyJimmy
Irrespective of the brothers' comments, Kamy and Glenn's decision to post this thread has been justified. Totally agree Philip. Those who are discomforted with this thread seem to be basing their comments on a very literal take on the thread title. If it had been phrased something like "Somebody is bidding to buy the Rovers" then they may not be quite so acerbic in their comments. Shame but some just seem to like complaining about anything that isn't banging the drum for the Venkys. I don't think they have been doing a good job and I'd like to see some else having a go. If they improve going forward then great, but based on their track record ...
Black Burn
... he is not joining the board when he becomes 17 Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! I didn't realize Mullionvagrant altered that statement and changed the age to 17!

Yep. to me the article is just a rehash of the earlier story. though it does look like somebody has had his wrist slapped by Mrs D. Which could be a good thing. But if they are staying, I hope they improve on their past few months record. I
cruz
Don't understand the stadium in Pune comment? Let's hope his son got his granddads brains I read it that he plans on building an academy AND a stadium in Pune for the academy team to play in. chaddyrovers
The brothers are negotiating the price up. yeah that's is a fair point. I would ask how likely is this to happen tho? are we likely to get a new owners in before the start of the season?

Balwer
I would like to echo philip's comments about this news needing to be posted. Plenty of rumours are posted on here all the time, tranfer speculation being the most obvious. If Glenn is going to censor what gets posted so that it's only positive for the club then this site loses it's independence and that would be a great shame. Black Burn
I'm amazed that people are reassured by anything that Mr Rao has to say The same way I'm amazed people get hysterical over any bad rumor that floats around this messageboard. On a more serious note, there were people crying out for Venkys to communicate with the fans and say something about this matter. Whether it was a direct or indirect response to the messageboard, they did. If we aren't reassured by what Mr Rao said, we wouldn't be asking Venkys to comment on the matter in the first place. Parsonblue
how ?? there was NOTHING in it! so been a complete waste of time! please illustrate how im wrong, phillip! i see it as shameful! It would have been shameful if those in the know had opted not to go with the rumour for fear of upsetting the owners. The rumour came from sources which were trusted and therefore it was reasonable to put it on the board in the way in which it was. It was never published as fact but as a rumour which had been in circulation for some time. The whole of the transfer thread is nothing more than idle speculation and yet people await, or did await, the lastest piece of gossip from Nicko with eager anticipation and then treated it as gospel. A messageboard is for people to air their opinions on subjects that supporters are talking about. If you don't wish to discuss a particular matter then don't open that thread. Stick to the things you are happy discussing and leave others to discuss what they wish to talk about.
DavidMailsTightPerm
I'm amazed that people are reassured by anything that Mr Rao has to say  I keep saying it - the only way they will get the fans back on board - is by actions rather than words. End of this transfer window is the time to make a judgement call. IMO people have been far too quick to call our new owners - they may be naive - but AS YET haven't been shown to be liars (as some people are claiming). I'm happy for Venkys to own us, providing they do it properly. When we make signings and have a sponsor, I'll start to believe they do not regret our purchase. Listening to Barry on this is pointless. Mrs D makes all of the decisions.
