Summed up pretty well Yeti, people like Black burn are accused of being Venky employees for being positive- I am still in the same position as I was when the season ended:

1. Lets see the investment in the team.

2. Lets see who our sponsors are.

Both of those will be used to judge Venkys IMO.

Second that.

If we spend the 21-26 million pounds we have got for the transfer budget then I will say very good to the owners because they have reinvest the Jones money and the owners transfer window money. With this money we need to sign 4-6 very good players with this.

I don't not want Venky's as the shirt sponsor at all! I would be happy with somebody like Cobra lager or Kingfisher.

But I would like to know when this will be announce and when the new shirts will be available so I can buy one before the first game.

Very welcome statement from Mr Rao. The family should talk to the media more and making themselves accessible to local media in particular would go a long way to winning over the hearts and minds of supporters.

Also good to see the owners have discarded their Rothmans Football Yearbooks and rejected fanciful notions of "marquee" signings.

Now please can we have some action and make some sensible signings that will improve the squad ?

He's managing the news, it was him and Kamy that brought it to me as they couldn't decide whether to run it as news or not. I took the decision to post it (as a rumour on the forum, not news), so I'll take that one on the shoulders, but you're not giving Wen the credit he deserves in all this. What if we have an injury crisis in January and need to buy a player and there is no money in the pot?

What if we can't land all our targets in this window, still spend on other players who possibly might not be good enough?

Sensible spending please.

I saying we need 4-6 quality players. If we went for Roe-Coker on a free then I would say a good signing and this would let us spend money on other targets.

Jisty I don't think for one second Kammy or Glenn have an agenda to hurt the club or forums. Or that what they did was not a very hard decision for them to make. I just think they made the wrong decision.

I stand by my comments that starting this thread, with the post they did, was a huge mistake. It DOES hurt the link between brfcs and the owners which they were trying to build. Unless they were 100% sure that the story was true and could be confirmed they should not have started this thread. This is much more serious that the transfer rumour threads, I don't think they can be compared.

I can assure you that this thread has not harmed the relationship that we have with Venky's.

I have talked Venky's PR this afternoon and they are aware of the thread and fully understand the reasons why we posted this thread, they also have no problem with us posting this rumour, mainly because we did not say it was fact and are keen to continue to build a relationship with us because of the independence that we have.

However at the moment they are neither confirming nor denying what we have posted, so until that happens this stays as a rumour.

Absolutely delighted with this news! They're not selling! Phew! I thought for a minute there we could fall into the hands of people who haven't a clue what they are doing! Aye, it wasn't aimed at you specifically, it was just I seemed to be getting lots of credit (when I'll I read did is say "got for it, but just on the forums") and Wen was getting none (and he works his ass off on the news and podcast and stuff).

It would have been shameful if those in the know had opted not to go with the rumour for fear of upsetting the owners. The rumour came from sources which were trusted and therefore it was reasonable to put it on the board in the way in which it was. It was never published as fact but as a rumour which had been in circulation for some time. The whole of the transfer thread is nothing more than idle speculation and yet people await, or did await, the lastest piece of gossip from Nicko with eager anticipation and then treated it as gospel.

When "those in the know" on the board launch a thread like this it hints at a credibility that just wasn't warranted. If the rumour came from the same "trusted" sources as all the other negative stuff then the whole issue casts doubt on the reliability of it all. I have to ask myself if these sources have some mischievous agenda of their own.

I have to ask the question did you ask Venkys PR, the direct question, "Is the rumour true or false"? I ask as if whilst discussing the thread with you, they neither denied or confirmed the rumour, actually adds fuel to the fire. You would have thought that if it was false, they would have come out and said so to you. But not saying!!!!!!!!!!
