You make a very good point in your last paragraph. If you want to bash venkys then the evidence is pretty much right in front of you. They have not made a good start to their ownership of rovers. That argument is only weakened by rumours and hearsay though IMHO. I thought it was a mistake posting this rumour not in any way because I thought it would upset venkys. I thought it was a mistake because it had the potential to further destabilise the club we all support and drive further wedges between people who, when all is said and done, have the same good intentions at heart for the club

Interesting point. But what if it had been a national paper coming out with the rumour - we might then have responded about why we did not here about it on here first. At least people on here care about the club. Whereas the national media do not. At least people now know there is a rumour going around. So if it does come out in the national media, people have been 'gentle prepared for it' (looking for a better description). The dilema is the admin were right if they did and wrong if they didn't - with people with differing opinions. It is a hard one to call. But now that it is out in the open on here - it can be discussed. Kamy has confirmed that there has been no offence taken or damage done with relations with Venkys PR. Therefore that should be sufficient for us all. So if the owners are not unhappy about it being on here - I suggest we should have the same indifference.

I think Glenn, Kamy, Wen Y Hu, etc... were entirely right to poster the rumor of Venkys' sale. The rumor was already out and about locally and informing the broader base of Rovers fans, including those in dusty Arizona towns, was considerate.

And I don't think it hurt things with Venkys. The site is independent. I'm of the opinion that good relations with Venkys involves knuckling under and painting everything in a falsely positive light, though I would be happy to be proven wrong. If I'm right, I'd rather have frosty relations.

as an example, some posters want venky to come out and SAY we are not selling. They would then be satisfied. I wouldnt be, as im not convinced by their words, so far the only thing they have proven correct, is that talk is cheap.

probably the first time i have agreed with you on this site. This was in regards to your post, where you wanted venky to do something and show their intentions. Its something i completely agree with. They need to buy a couple of class player imo. That would definelty stop rumours regarding them selling and imo give them a piece of their credebility back. Something they really do need.

Yeah i think you are wrong. Sam had his haters based on his bolton past and style of football. The rao´s are unfamiliar territory and therefore brings uncertainty. There is a major differnce between feeling insecure about something unfamiiiar and hating.

The majority of us fans, couldnt give a ###### about, who the owners are, but we do give a ######, when we are promised gold and are yet to see any of it. There has to be a correlation between their words and actions.! Especially when they are an unknown quantity. They are being judged, by what they´ve promised, but have not delivered. Its not agenda, its a justifiable reason for concern imy, concern about our club and its about time you spotted the difference.

this window is critical, we are not only lacking quality, but also quantity. If the raos´s are serious about project rovers and world chicken domination, they need to step up.

As to the main point, we need to keep an open mind. So far the "sell" rumor is just that, a rumor. It may be that Venkys will do exactly what they've said (at least one of several things, anyway) and improve the squad. There is time left before we condemn them on this issue (though Venkys deserves condemnation on other issues, in my opinion).

And if the rumor is true, it may be a good thing, dependent upon the buyer.

People are confusing having an agenda with not admitting they are wrong. Just because you firmly nail you colours to a particular mast and when others disagree you find attack is the best form of defence doesn't mean you have an agenda, it's just means you're a bit of a stubborn tool.
