[Archived] Rumour: Venky's To Sell?

Care to expand on that statement, I think I know what you're getting at

Simple- he has said on numerous occasions that he knew they were 'wrong uns' when he saw them. As I said I judge them on their actions not on their appearance/look.

That quite frankly is a load of rubbish. We could have FAR worse owners than Venky's. Would you rather have Hick and Gillett buy us? I certainly would not!

How can we know how Venkys compare with Hicks & Gillett? They may be worse. They've 4-5 positions to fill from last season, have sold one of last seasons stars, and, as of yest, have done nothing to reinforce the team other than talk.

Staff are leaving in great numbers.

Neither Samba nor Hoillett have committed to the club.

Rather than buy quality we are allegedly discussing leasing mediocrity.

We've been, allegedly, schizophrenic in our transfer dealings, if I'm understanding Nicko's articles correctly.

To date, I see the Rovers being dismantled. Whether this is intentional or a temporary bump on the road to renewed competitiveness, I haven't a clue. But it may well be Hicks & Gillett aren't the worse that can happen.

It isn't a piece of cake for everyone Cruz. And not everyone can catch the train as easily.

But I do agree with you about the souless Reebok. I even think the so-called "Theatre of Dreams" is a bit soulless. Then again, their fans take the mick out of us for our lot leaving ten minutes before the end.

For business people it's not just about easy access as well, it's also about pulling in fans from other areas. Like someone else noted, even Jack Walker flirted with the idea of moving Ewood so that there was easier access to the motorway.

I can get to the M6 by car by 1 hour after the final whistle on ANY matchday and that's seeing the final whistle, clapping the players, strolling to the car, and driving from Mill Hill through Cherry Tree to the M65. Easy. Cannot be simpler if they tried.

To true, do it myself every game.

You could spit on the M65 from Ewood.

I cant talk for anyone else but am still giving them a chance and nothing is irreversible, however a lot of people have been waiting to see what they do in this window and it's not over yet!!

I would put myself in a similar bracket, with the occasional drop into the depths of despair.

As a regular reader and occasional contributor to this board I'm always amazed by the lather so many on here work themselves into.

There's still time to get players in before the start of the season.

If this doesn't happen, THEN it's time to get upset.

Time to grow a sense of perspective - perhaps taking up knitting or yoga during the close season might help.

I wonder come Sept 1st though will say: "we are where we are, let's see how we do for the first 10 games and, if we need to, strengthen in January. Better to keep our powder dry."

There have already been several such moments, I just want to see some action.

There is time, but players need a full pre-season or they don't hit the ground running.

An experienced board, manager and chairman signed Shearer in late July. The past has zero bearing on what's happening now.

You don't say Sherlock. That's why it was in relation to 'players need a full pre-season to hit the ground running' rollocks <_<

Accessing Ewood is a piece of cake and would be destroyed by moving to a souless Reebok style ground with no local pubs that only caters for fat arse drivers who would then moan about it taking 40 minutes to get off the car parks whislt dribbling hot dog sauce onto their fat guts.

Get train (usually free travel on 17 of 19 home games as it's busy and the ticket man can't be arsed) at 1.30.

Enter Navigation at 1.50

Sink 2/3 pints

Stroll to Ewood at 2.30

Sit in seat after a whizz at 2.55

Get train back at 17.38

Plonk arse on couch at home at 18.00

whats a whizz?

Write off mrs D at your peril

Why is it that people that have recently joined the site are positive towards Venkys?

And what exactly happens after "judgement deadline" anyway that will make a jot of difference?

Nowt!

But I have read 'I am not judging them till after January'... 'I am not making judgement till we are safe'... 'I am not judging till they have had chance to bring players in'... 'i'm not judging them till September 1st'.

No Drog I simply don't judge people by their look/appearance- unlike your good self.

You should do then. I admit that I have been wrong in the past but on very few occasions.

Never heard the term 'First impressions last longest' have you? How about 'You never get a second chance to make a first impression'. Wise words. Those two looked more like taxi drivers than taxi drivers when they tipped up at Ewood that day cheap suited and all greasy lank hair and goosepimples. Their incredibly stupid subsequent actions, one following quickly behind another didn't do anything to prove me wrong did they?
