Pretty much bang on that article, well written and I agree with most of it as our situation stands - no doubt someone will reply saying what complete rubbish, exciting times, champions league means we are showing ambition etc etc etc.....

Of course we should den, everyone deserves a chance.

Giving them a chance however is not our remit.

They own the club, they are the pay masters, there is nothing that we can do.

If they want to asset strip and recoupe their initial expenditure and let the club become a music hall joke, its their perogative.

Alternatively they may appoint a professional to run the club and be a public mouth piece. However in view of their crudibility to date I wouldnt hold out much hope that they are capable of appointing the right person or are prepared to take the back seat on running the club.

Yeah, but don't you think we should give them a chance?

They had their chance and blew it. Too many cooks and too much ignorance of the business they came into. Also sheer arrogance in getting rid of the people - and failure to replace - experienced people at the club who could have helped them as well as the club.

Yeah, but don't you think we should give them a chance?

No protest after the Blackpool game and Venkys knew Rovers fans would roll over and die. I know people don't like me saying that but I am sorry it's true.

I expect we (Rovers Fans) are in for a very long season. While I don't think Kean is up to the job you seriously have to ask would anyone work with Venkys when the manager have no control over the transfers.(As pointed out on the podcast)

Currently we have Indian owners and that is where our new market and fans should be. But Venkys who are Indian have no clue how to achieve this. This is just laughable, funny how they get popstars and world famous boxers to open their stores but no signings for Rovers. How can you not know your own market??

Rovers are not the biggest club in the world and Rovers fans know this but we still love our club. There are clubs out there so much bigger than Rovers why can't we team up with them? I am sure we can all think of foreign clubs that have more players than they know what do with. Yes there are limits on the number of loan players you can have at the club but a group of players who have been told by their parent club this is there chance to show them what they can do, should be very motivated to train and play hard. OK they maybe playing to go back to their parent club but they will be doing that while at Rovers and this will be help Rovers.

Seriously what have Venkys done to show us that they care about our club? When Jones was sold to Man U Rovers should have bought a young exciting player straight away and said to the fans OK we have sold one player but here is another talent for you to watch. The list produced by Niko could well of real but it's just a list. People we excited by the list so why were NONE of the players bought, due to infighting we we are told.

I would love to know how many season tickets have been sold, I would bet the numbers are way down.

So now we are talking about bringing in a partner or Venkys are going to sell up. WHY WHY WHY would anyone want to partner with Venkys??? It's not as if the only reason Venkys are failing is due to a lack of money.

In less than 12 months they have proved themselves to be completely incapable of running our football club.

They have made several catastrophic decisions that have resulted in the loss of the manager, the chairman, the club secretary, other significant board members, the club doctor, fitness coach, Dave Fevre next ? etc etc

Our club is now a mere shell with a lack of direction and has become the Premierships laughing stock.

Not only do the Venkys have a problem with running the club, they also have a problem with parting with their money.

We apparently paid 3.5 million for Formica, I believe it was much less.

No money has found its way from the Venkys bank accounts as yet this summer as the squad prepare to be paraded around Pune.

After you have had your thrill of showing off your latest plaything in your home country, for Gods sake Venkys, do the decent thing and give it us back.

Either bring in a Business partner who has half an idea as to what they are doing or get out.

You still have chance to save face, even Thaksin Shinawatra is now revered at Man City for introducung Sheik Mansoor to the club.

We will be here long after you have gone, just do not put us back ten years and into the Championship.

The next time this happens could prove fatal.

I just want Venkys to (Please don't use that word again) off, I didn't personally know John Williams or Tom Finn, but if we had no money, I can safely say that I would have been more comfortable with them in charge.

I totally agree den. Ignoring all other decisions they have made, the subsidised ticket and free mars bars / crisps at Wolves along with only a small rise in the price of season tickets suggests that they are more than capable of making another good decision, probably around October.

I wonder how many games they'll go to at Ewood next season?

From Majiballs link....

"Blackburn are in the unusual situation of being financially better-off, but a less attractive club for the same reason the owners, nobody trusts them. Theyre wealthy enough to buy a football club, but not publicity-savvy enough to make the outside world understand why theyve done it or rich enough to stop people asking. Nobody understands the vision that Venkys have for the club, suspicion still clouds around the decision to sack Sam Allardyce, and there are no clear signs from within the club about which way its headed.

If Im a player that Blackburn want to sign, I need either reassurances about what kind of club im joining, a level of trust and belief in the incumbent manager, or an awful lot of money to make-up for the absence of the other two. Thats why Blackburn arent bringing anyone in, they lack credibility as a club at the moment. The owners have no profile, the manager has no reputation, theres not a huge glut of money, and the club has no definitive direction.

Not the most enticing destination is it?"

In a nutshell why I haven't renewed my ST yet. I've been around too long for blind faith and optimism to rule my brain and take my money.

Yeah, but don't you think we should give them a chance?

'Give them a chance'? C'mon now Den, I've given em two chances..... slim and fat! ^_^

Not sure about how much down. I've spoken to quite a few people who were not going to renew but when it came to the crunch actually bought one again.... None of whom are eagerly looking forward to the new season with any optimism mind. 'It's sh1t but what else can I do Saturday afternoons' accompanied by a hunch of the shoulders and a glum expression being the usual banal reply.

Just as an aside with all this Venkey originated negativity around is anybody as suprised as I am that our Dingle friends are not having a field day at our expense. It's mighty odd.

I think Den's "Yeah, but don't you think we should give them a chance?" post was supposed to be sarcastic guys.

Really? If only den had been more citical of The Clowns on here in his previous posts I'd have been able to work him out.

It seems the whole messageboard is suffused with an overwhelming sense of depression and doom.

It would be interesting to see how ST sales are going.

I can't remember the last time I looked forward to a season (2006?), but my God, I am dreading this coming season. There's still time to pull something out of the fire, but on our present trajectory, it's going to get ugly this coming season.

Recruitment (and not just of players) is a major concern.

I remember last season when we bought no one. It was disheartening at the time but on the other hand we were owned by the trust and they were looking for a buyer. It was obvious they weren't going to put money in. Even though the squad seemed half decent I still felt we would end up in a relegation scrap without strengthening, as usually happens with teams in the top flight that stand still. And that was with Allardyce, a manager good at getting blood out of a stone, and an arguably better squad. I didn't think it could get any worse than last years transfer window, especially as now we have so-called billionaire owners who are keen to make an impression. But this year we're on course to top that with some of the people who have been here recently. I can't comprehend why we are even considering these types of players. Were some of the names on the "lists" just a dangling carrot so that people would renew their season tickets?

And if I feared for a relegation scrap last year, I can't even imagine how badly we will suffer this coming season if things carry on. It seems we're arse-upwards on the pitch and in the boardroom.

Wenger has already said that he would be conducting most of his transfer activity at the end of the window because players are less expensive then. It will be a huge loss if we lose Samba very close to the end of the transfer window. Givet and Nelson as a partnership at the back do not fill me with confidence.

It would be interesting to see how ST sales are going.

I was told by someone at Ewood a couple of days ago that they are significantly down on last year. When you consider how cheap they are, that says it all. People are beginning to vote with their feet.
