[Archived] Rumour: Venky's To Sell?

Recommended Posts

Venkys made a clumsy mistake, losing (parts of) our transermoney, the A-list we had with Cisse and Witsel was then dismissed and we went to a new C-list Inc Pavone and Ribeiro. A potential buyer came in play but Venkys love the free PR the club is giving them; just look at the Honda story for example so they don't want/need to sell.

In a nutshell that's it.

(this is me tieing the various loose ends together, i am in no way "in the know")

Totally unforgivable - if true. If we actually had some serious cash to spend on quality players and Venky's managed to "clumsily" lose huge parts of it, I don't know what to say.

How can they have lost it? I just don't see how that would be possible...

I know Rovers fans aren't the type to protest especially on mass but if the owners think a bunch of C-list freebies is going to cut it with the fans they can think again.

Should fans not be making representations to the Premier League - they dacided that Venkys passed their fit and proper owners test. Also contact should be made with the Walker Trust because they sold to Venkys and were obliged to act in accordance with Uncle Jack's wishes.

You should contact the media, look at that guy who wrote to everyone and got Wales dumped in the lowest level of Wales. He contacted everyone till one person from the media took up the fight with him.

Meet the Faroese student who made Wales officially worse at football

So THAT's why England are 4th in the FIFA rankings!

There is a strong 'RUMOUR' that the Phil Jones money has gone to pay back a loan.

We may,at present,just have a transfer Kitty of just 5 Million..if that.

This is only speculation that is doing the rounds.

So what's the rest of the rumour? It's got to be more than that to the story...

Would that really be the 'Armegedeon' that Philip has been alluding to? That's what happened every year with the Trust. The difference being that at least they managed expectations.

This is only speculation that is doing the rounds.

There is information to suggest the only thing stopping Venkys from selling is the upcoming tournament in Asia, they want to still be involved for marketing purposes (Hence the Honda link too).

All being well, when that is done and over with, we may see some movement.

I've had it from two separate sources that the club is currently failing to meet some financial obligations, although I do not know how much of that is based in rumour.

Even Venkys will understand that their investment will be worthless if we go down, if they block the takeover (God only knows why) then they might just put enough (Free transfers) in to try and keep us up.

Poor Steve Kean cannot be a happy man right now.

that would be quite easy.

New contracts and pay raises for several players. That would mean some sign on and agent fees.

sam´s and mcdonalds compensation for being sacked.

those are facts.

This is speculation:

Perhaps they thought we would finish higher, ergo more prize money. They certainly talked about finishing higher.

perhaps the transfers in january, were paid with money from a loan. Rumours were that both roque and j. jones were paid about 150.000 combined, those wages could have crippled them a bit. Their salary would be close to 4 mill alone.

Perhaps they been taken for a ride by Sem/Kentaro.

You see RVR, losing the phil jones transfer money, would be quite easy. I know its mostly speculation on my part, but it does seem somewhat plausible.

we will just have to wait, hope for the best and see what happens.

Zacc, seriously, instead of saying "10%", put the record "straight", and get it over with.

It can't be the Phil Jones money surely? I mean that would make sense after all...

You buy two players at £4.5m who don't play.

Their wages for 6 months? £1 - 2m.

You get a couple of loanees in on daft money - that's another £4-5million gone on wages.

Extended contracts for several players - £?m

Then you've got your "trusted advisor" fees to pay for sorting out these deals - let's say £3m gone.

Then Steve's flights to Pune - there's another £1m.

Steve's Taxi's home and to Ewood / Brockhall - £500k.

Steve's legal fees £500k.

Flying "everyone" to Ewood to thrash out a list of players we won't be bidding on £500k (including sandwiches).

Flights and hotels for the first team to play The Kings Head Pub, Pune £1m.

The filming of the Venky's advert with the first team squad - another tenner.

Anyway back to your point Hawkiiz, it's a tricky one.

First and foremost I haven't a clue what Zac and Philip are referring to. I would though, of course, like to know.

The site posted "A Rumour" the other day - the title of this very thread. Maybe Phil and Zac could share what they know with Glenn, Ste, Wen and the guys and a decision is made over whether it get's posted or not?

There can be many reasons for not posting - that you'll be breaching confidentiality, or "dropping people in the sh1t" I think the technical term is. No one wants to do that, particularly with The Clowns "making changes and bringing their own people in". Then again it might just be the legal thing.

However if there is a way to do it, a will to do it and it's in the best interests of Blackburn Rovers and it's fans then it should be explored.

Either way though we must respect the BRFCS decision. Just a thought like! I know you're busy enough anyway guys, I don't want to create (more) work for you!

This thread is headed rumour Venky's to sell.

It was posted seven days ago and the Venky's denial in the LT was no such thing and everyone has ignored it.

Why should we drag Venky's name through the mud when it looks quite possible they will be gone before long.

For those saying, tell us the story, just read the negative pieces posted on this thread, the transfer thread, the doctors thread and the Kean thread and accept they are in all probability not only true, but quite possibly just the tip of the iceburg the good ship Rovers is headed towards at full steam.

There are three distinct very real legal problems with posting what many people now know quite apart from protecting sources.

I just desperately hope Venky's exit Rovers before all this breaks as it surely will. Their remaining reputation critically depends on the rumoured sale negotiations succeeding.

so your saying were in talks with someone to buy us already and if so how long have these negotiations been going on ,do you think its in the best interests of the club to sell to who ever is wanting to buy us ?

Northern_Rover Northern Rover

The speculation that Rovers have 'lost' £16 million from Jones transfer. Not true. Owners didn't realise it would be paid in stages.

I saw that too, and just how weird isn't that statement?

Either the transfer clause must have said "Phil Jones can leave for £16m, being paid in stages over 10 years". Then of course the owners would know about it, or the owners must have agreed to it being paid in stages.

There is no way of them "not knowing".

Also, even if it is paid in stages, it is pretty normal for transfers to be done that way, and should not be a problem for Rovers since we can also buy players and pay it off in stages.

Is someone on an agenda to tarnish the good name of Blackburn Rovers (and Venkys) here?

But if we sign someone it can also be done in stages so it doesn't make any difference really. We can still buy a player of the same value.

It does make you laugh if that is the case though. That's where someone like JW would have got us the best deal and we would probably have got the money up front. Granted venkys held firm for a good fee but they seem to have taken their eye off the ball with the way the fee was paid.

Amatuer at best.

It doesn't make any sense whatsoever. Robert Coar is still at the club, he would be good help.

Also, have you ever sold anything, and after the deal was struck, the buyer tells you "oh, and I will pay in stages over x years. Ta!"

Can't take a rumour like that seriously,

Oh Venkys, do you know it's heartbreaking to read information like this, from not knowing that teams could be relegated, to not knowing a transfer is being paid in installments, not understanding how the TV money is paid and letting John Williams go.

I feel as if my(our)club is slowly and very publicly dieing.

Why are you assuming that this is anyone but Venky's fault?? If they didn't understand that the money was paid in stages then they're to blame. I know its a rumour but its ridiculous enough to be true. Considering the likes of Nicko and Kamy have been saying that the worst of the news regarding Venky's hadn't come out I can't say im surprised about this.

1. There is no way of them "not knowing".

2. Is someone on an agenda to tarnish the good name of Blackburn Rovers (and Venkys) here?

Depends who negotiates the contracts really doesn't it. Mrs Desai? The pony tailed one or the other one? Maye Kentaro? Maybethe new 27 year old secretary? Who knows. Do they speak to each other?

Do Venky's actually give a damn?

2. Why have you lumped BRFC together with Venky's? And since when have Venky's had a good name?

Oh and if you think Rob Coar is actually involved in any decision making, or anything at all for that matter, then I'd be very surprised.

Just read through the thread.

Bob Fleming. The mods are in the picture and I have gone as far as I can- further in fact with my post deletions at one point yesterday.

Hwkiiz, I believe the Rovers Board minute book is gathering dust. You cannot blame Bob Coar in this matter.

Roversmum, we have nobody at the club with any experience of doing transfers. Kentaro were engaged mob handed to do the work for us then a star struck bangle man apparently made a phone call when he saw a Brazilian mirage. Of course Kentaro are a charitable organisation who work for free and don't mind talking to over 20 other agents about prospective bids then have to unravel what they had previously been contracted to do. Spotted the sink, hole, no plug and no transfer money left?

Do you think whoever did the negotiations did not report to the correct people? Do you think Venkys let Kentaro do negotiations without giving any instructions, or demanding a report on what the deal consists of?

We might not like Venkys, but to assume they are that dumb is a tiny bit embarrassing.

2. Venkys owns Rovers. The link is pretty strong.

I don't know what R Coar's job description is, but I'm sure he is not just a guy to fill a chair and keep quiet. Do you want to enlighten me of his role?
