[Archived] Rumour: Venky's To Sell?

Recommended Posts

You have to give credit to Venkys on this.

We fans wanted to know:

UPDATE ON SPONSOR - Club statement released that this should hopefully be concluded within the next few weeks.

UPDATE ON TRANSFERS -Club statement released that we are actively looking for a striker and midfielder. However, will not pay over the odds. Also looking at long term plans, which points to the owners wanting to stay at the club.

UPDATE ON SALE OF THE CLUB - Statement released through the LET that they are not looking to sell.

We wanted answers and we seem to have got them. They are communicating with the fans slowly, but surely.

Patience.

I can understand you wanting be positive, but the fact Venky`s are posting this through the club says to me they read this board and are saying things they think fans want to hear.

Never has the saying:"actions speak louder than words" been more appropiate.

You cant really call that an update the fans want to no if they are going to invest some money and buy quality first team players and the current situation in terms of budget and the truth about the bank loan. But instead Venky's give us cryptic bull crap to cover their back whilst they prey a HUGE sponsorship deals comes through and exploring if they can appeal against this one or borrow of another bank or get some rich sheikh to bail them out and buy the club. Anyone that reads into these "Updates" as a positive sign is idiotic for believing there dribble.

Didn't the owners appoint new accountants when they took over the club. Noticed somebody mentioned this earlier.

This story which impugns the reputation of JW amongst others is not linked to the change in accountants from what I understand.

we will only enter into negotiations with other clubs and agents on terms which are commercially viable and are within the market norms accepted by every other club, as we are sure our supporters would demand and expect.

Has there been a bigger indicator that we are going to spend next to nothing yet???

Looks to me they have already prepared their excuses for when the windows closes, and all we have signed is a freebie and a loan. They know they have been rumbled and it appears they are trying to paper over the cracks.

Compare this statement to what they were spouting 3-6 months ago. Something has gone horribly horribly wrong.

Amount spent on RSC wages while at Rovers last season, 1,620,000 so I would say something went wrong, the pay off to BFS etc etc

Soon the old excuse of well the players need time to settle down so lets wait to Christmas.

Which you are quite entitled to do. Out of interest, what do you BELIEVE will be the outcome on the 1st Spetember?

Send me your email address and I will send you the mortgage document so you can see for yourself the thing expired on 30 June 2011.

If there is a date by which you are due to pay the bank, there is not a lot of choice in the matter.

It wont let me send you a message Phil!

Could you send the mortgage documents to PLEASE DONT POST YOUR PERSONAL EMAIL ADDRESSES ON THE MESSAGEBOARD please?

Thanks

This is the same newspaper that was never up to date with who was interested in buying Rovers! Then when they read the rest of the newspapers in the UK they just cut and pastes their version together. So the local paper knows zero of what is going on at the club. Of course they are happy to show pictures of players eating chicken and wonder why fans are angry at them.

LET is nothing but a mouthpiece for Venkys OK not as bad as the Radio Lancashire interview with Kean were no questions were asked but they are not relevant any more when it comes to breaking Rovers news.

That is complete and utter rubbish! You sound like one of the brainless twits that bombard the LT letters pages every single day with the most insane and childish drivel regarding anything and everything Rovers related. Note I said you sound LIKE them , not saying you ARE one of them.

Personally, I believe we will bring in a striker and a midfielder, as stated by our Owners on the Official Website. As things stand, Rovers will be a debt free club if the P Jones money is used to clear off the debt. I also believe we will have a new sponsor in place by then.

Even if we don't bring in quality players, the owners should get as much stick as the Trustees, because in essence they are doing the same thing.

Gav (whatever your snippet is), I'm with you and always have been of the opinion (have belief) that relegation would not jeopardise us - and we would acclimatise accordingly.

In fact I feel it may be the best thing we can do under the circumstances(imo) - and take a step back from the 'rat race' until it settles down and the bubble bursts ( ie see posts re other affected clubs)

Strengthen - being the operative word - can we do that without funds though? - possible but unlikely even though we have done it before (but as I have said before -again - that was when we have had people aboard who could man the ship)

Sorry CAPT, the snippet I heard was common knowledge after Nickos piece in the mirror, about loans being called in by the bank, I hadn't been on the site for a few days, in that time the story had broke.

I’ve been told that several other clubs are in the same boat, Spurs and Everton to name but two.

You are still taking them at face value?

On the debt issue, once again they are only paying off the EXTRA morgatge THEY took out early this year. The initial debt is untouched.

Really??

I am 100% certain they(LET) had to post in their own comments board that they were investigating the take over when the story was broken broken by a morning daily newspaper?

The Trustees never took £16.5 million from a transfer sale to pay for their mistakes. They did service some debt every time we received a large fee, but nothing like this.

I think you're going to agitate and annoy a lot of people by constantly writing that sort of thing. It's blindingly obvious that things have gone horribly wrong with the owners. If you want to wait until September 1st before agreeing then you do that, but don't insult people by up until that point with stuff like that.

dont come here now saying you had misgivings about the owners financial capital.. and astuteness!

cos i wont believe you!

People that know what they're doing, don't need to lie Zacc.

Yes, I certainly had misgivings about the owners financial awareness. Why do you think JW got the hell out of here?

The amount of stories that are coming out from "insider" knowledge, press reports etc is just ridiculous. I do take them at face value, and if you follow the events from the Official Website, then I have no reason to doubt.

Why was this initial mortgage taken out in the first place? Makes no sense if it is an extra mortgage.

Matty, I am not sure if you were one of the many that called for Venky's to communicate with the fans? They seemed to have addressed 3 key issues that fans were worried about.

It is now time for action, so relax.

THANKS AGAIN, DEN. i was meaning 47ers misgivings! AS I HAVE ALREADY SAID!

that is a very good point. the trust are sainted on here.. for what ???

A huge difference was the trust and rovers, thanks to JW had a fine relationship with barclays.

Thank you for that post.

So, from your perspective, this isn't quite the tsunami breaching a meteorite-damaged dam that will engulf the Titanic, or whatever the metaphors used on here recently were? Disappointing but not potentially terminal?

Your position on these matters is at best, highly inconsistent.

You say that under the Trust, we were headed for certain relegation (eventually) which would have led to a catastrophe for our club. This is despite:

Four top ten finishes in five years and no final day relegation battle antics

A reputation in football circles for being one of the most well run clubs in the country

A clutch of exciting young players who could command big transfer fees

A manager in charge who, despite the style of his football, greatly reduced the chances of us having anything remotely to do with relegation.

However you seem to feel that under Venky's we are headed for something merely "disappointing". This is despite

The likelihood that wages to turnover will not get any better under their stewardship (and will likely get worse as fewer renew STs

A reputation in football circles for being the Premier League's laughing stock

Another huge loan being taken out in December

Said huge loan has now swallowed up the cash from our most prized saleable young asset

And under less than a year under Venky's we came closer to the drop than at any time under the Trust

We're looking more and more likely to start the season with a squad considerably weaker than the one which showed relegation form during Kean's time in charge

Please, feel free to tell me if there's something vital I'm missing here. Or if there's anything inaccurate in what I'm saying.

I am not insulting nor trying to wind up anyone in this process LeChuck. I am as concerned during this whole situation as you are.

Looking at it through an accounting perspective.

Dr....??? £18.m

Cr Mortgage Loan Account £18m

If it was an EXTRA mortgage as Matty suggested, then does anyone know where that £18m went?

To fund RSC wages, to fund numerous pay offs etc. They haven't put in diddly squat of their own cash.

No, not particulary, I would like a JW type figurehead talking sense, not a stream of tripe from the chuckle brothers.

Spurs and Everton have managers who know what they're doing, have football administrators at the club who know what they're doing, take in much more through gate receipts and don't have teams which narrowly avoided relegation. And haven't sold one of their best players.

So no, not in the same boat at all.

on the pitch, everton will struggle this season, tony.

i saw them at gigg lane on friday.. they had yakubu and beckford upfront and beckford got injured!

spurs will do ok on the pitch.. but off it they are really screwed. failure to get the new stadium and theyd banked on champs lge qualification.
