"However, Rovers' owners Venky's - who are fuming about financial restrictions put on them by the clubs bank pulled the plug."

For some reason I have just been able to stop laughing because of the above sentence.

Love the use of the hyphens Mr. Nixon, hits with more force than those pussy commas, and was well used there.

Still nothing about any other clubs loans being recalled?

As said before, all Premiership clubs run at a debt to a bank or owner, I assume should the owners repay the money through whatever means (own money/player sales) and get back to neutral, they will open up another mortgage and release money once again.

If the coffers are empty, get a sponsor and start selling some merchandise (e.g. new kits)!

If we can not even afford a free transfer, then we are looking at relegation. I really wish Venky's would sell, but can't see it happening.

And then some, because you would expect us to at least be able to afford a couple of Championship players. We managed to sign players when we were totally skint in the lower leagues. They've set the club back years.

Come on man, if your going to paint such a dire picture as that you really need to flesh it out a bit. As it stands the current developments will not see us cease to exist, so if you hear different please tell.

couldn`t agree more, enough of all the cryptic messages just tell us what is going on.

I think the situation is even worst than that and relegation would be the tip of the iceberg. Just think, it took 4 years as an established prem club to find a buyer, what chance do we have as a championship side?

Come back Dan Williams! Wonder what happened to that guy who was part of the dan williams takeover bid, who was posting on the website a few years ago?!

The Pavone thing really is totally bizarre.

Whether you think he is any good or not is irrelevant.

The player turns up, with his family and his agent last week and is expecting to sign. It is NOT a trial. He is NOT training.

In the space of a few days he gets passed from pillar to post and has now been told that the club want him out of the hotel he is in...

I realise the bank has pulled a sh1t's trick here on the money, but surely there HAS to be a better line between the owners and management regarding signings.

There is some sympathy for the fact that the club has been shafted on the 'credit line' but it is tempered by the fact that the place is being run like a circus right now.

Five men short of last season's small survival squad.

No additions.

Good night.

Have had some communication with Venky's. No sale of the club imminent, not actively looking to sell the club, will do a story for this site hopefully Wednesday which will give background to what is happening.

I will say that even sat here in Spain I have managed to glean that the club is in a state of confusion at the moment. I am led to believe that Kean is fuming at promises not been kept and just as crucially senior players who told that there would be massive investment in playing squad to push for a top 8 finish have also started to ask Kean for answers.

While we are not in danger of becoming another Portsmouth this situation cannot continue for much longer. The statement today addressed very little.

Amazing, wonder how Rovers are going to be viewed in the footballing world with these sort of actions taking place in the name of Blackburn Rovers football club.

Looks like Venky's could be inflicting untold damage to the once good name of Blackburn Rovers football club.

Thanks. Although it is not good news, I guess this is slightly better than the scare we have been reading over the weekend? Kind of.

Shows what kind of owners they are does'nt it, the bank pulls the plug so do they push on with their own money and strengthen the club........Hell no they stamp feet and do bugger all.

Someone asked earlier why the national press has'nt been all over this and the answer was on talksport tonight, listening to them snigger after Keans "not in the top four yet" interview to the well who cares what Blackburn do because the owners dont know their arse from their elbow and nobody cares.

Talksport are tossers but for me they were 100% right, they have already wrote us off next year and it would'nt surprise me to see Rovers go into the new season favourites to go down.

Always been so proud to be a Rovers fan all my life but at the moment I feel embarrassed, how much of an idiot must Kean feel talking about top four and champions league when we cant even afford a freebie.

Three lines nicko in which you have perfectly captured the state of Blackburn Rovers - Venkys style. Are we going to name the forthcoming season as the "Blackburn Rovers farewell to the Premier League Tour"? I have never been so depressed at the start of a new season as I am now. Even in the early seventies when we had no money and languished in the Third Division, there was always hope. Our inability to find the cash to bring in a free transfer signing like Pavone suggests that even hope has now abandoned ship.

Kamy,

Could Venkys still sell the club, or are they willing to put their money in to save us, cos at the moment the situation can not be viable to keep doing as it is at the moment.

If someone was to approach them about a purchase of the club would they sell ?

Appalling way to treat anyone, let alone a prospective employee. I don't suppose he received an apology either.
