[Archived] Rumour: Venky's To Sell?

Recommended Posts

There is a potential route out of this problem.

More will emerge tomorrow.

Don't go ringing Samaritans just yet.

There is a big test of the owners and the staff they have set up going on here.

Things could turn if the right strokes are pulled in the next 24 hours.

Fingers, Toes and everything else crossed then, :brfc:

Are we now debt free though? (guessing PJ money and whatever was left in the club is given to the bank?)

I realise my post was on the emotional side. However, the whole thing has turned my stomach. Genuinely. To expect our squad to survive at its current standing is a huge ask. I'd love to know what this route out is. Seems simple to me;

1) The owners put in their own cash and make a fist of it. Likely to happen - Not very. With a personal fortune of low proportions in footballing circles, one good transfer window would cost a significant percentage of their wealth. They must have established by now even a £50m budget would not guarantee them European football anyway.

2)Find another way of borrowing money. Is that a good move - Not really. And i would have thought most banks would be working to the same rules Barclays are. Unless Venkey's are cosy with Kamal Khan and plan to get a slice of the Spectre action via an elaborate smuggling scam. But i'm pretty sure Roger Moore saw him off anyway.

3)They sell up. Long drawn out affair even if a buyer can be found.

Seems to me we'll be hoping to secure the services of some freebies. I hear Jason Euell is still looking for a club.

Just been told that Kean will be removed from his position before Friday and has been put on "gardening leave" until then. Jensen's rolling contract will not be renewed at the end of the month either. Seems that Mrs Desai is far from happy with Kean, Barry Mcintosh, coincidentally Pavone's agent (and formicas but hes looking for new representation so Ive been told) and Kentaro. Mcintosh also working for Kean which has seen Kentaro drop their support this has left him open to the bullet.

Huber recommended that he was removed but rovers have not only removed kean but broke off all ties with Kentaro, as Kentaro's stance on kean has made them look foolish and any deals in the pipeline are now cancelled until Mrs Desai's primary choice for replacement, Mark Hughes takes the reigns.

She is determined to get Mark Hughes back at Ewood after this disasterous agreement with Kentaro and are hoping to tie that up before Monday!

Why would Mark Hughes want to come to Rovers when we have even less money than we had the last time he was here?

Don't believe kean will be sacked, how would they pay off his contract, they have no money.can you reveal your source, also mark hughes left because he was very frustrated at the lack of money he was given, why would he come back to have even less, hughes is not a yes man,if kean is to be sacked i very much doubt there will be much interest in the hot seat at ewood.

Believe what you will but they have money, just not in the clubs accounts at present. They have just spent 15 million on upgrading their chicken operations in India. Mrs Desai is furious with Kentaro for leading her up the garden path so to speak with regards to Kean, his contract will be paid up as I understand it.

They wont be thowing millions at Hughes but there is money there for transfers and they are aware of his track record in the market and are willing to trust him more than Kean, who has cost us at least one transfer if what I have heard is correct, namely the player stating he would rather retire than play for him!

Whether Hughes will come, I dont know but they are making a push for him big!

As for sources, I could name him, but he would just deny it anyhow. He has sent me an email as he is aware of my sources and was happy for me to get it out on a site that WASNT BRFCS, believe it or not but seeing that this is the biggest Rovers fansite, this news needed outing to that place, besides, we all need a cheer up after the last few weeks!

Hughes will be promised full control of transfers and this was on Samba recommendation and he is happy to stay should this happen

Sorry they don't have money as has been proven again and again.

Their company profit is just over 100 million pounds, which is funnily enough roughly what liverpools owners have spent since they took over. So they don't have money.

We are in dire straights. What's worse, I'm not sure who truly is to blame. I suspect that the Raos/Venkys were taken advantage of, but the situation is so confused that its hard to be sure.

Just been told that Kean will be removed from his position before Friday and has been put on "gardening leave" until then. If the Raos/Venkys want to right the ship, then getting rid of Kean and bringing in Hughes would be a huge first step in the right direction. Hughes knows the game like few others, has an eye for talent, has an extensive staff that could plug many of the holes in the club, and appears to be an honorable man (at least by the standards of PL managers). I also think the comment that Samba would stay if Hughes came is a relief.

The trick is the budget available to him. He isn't going to get by with a few million. Too many holes need to be plugged.

I just hope the post is true, and not wild speculation. If it is true, it would indicate that the Raos/Venkys are well intentioned, were sold a bill of goods, have wised up and intend to get the Rovers out of the mess we find ourselves.

Thats the company profit, nothing to do with personal wealth and they are not short a few Rupees! They are treated like royalty in India because of their achievements.

Do they have 100M to throw around on transfers, not a chance but they want the club to grow sustainably and not just throw money at it. Jack never did that, he demanded value and quality, christ even Kenny had to validate some transfers to Jack. The new financial ruling due in from FIFA/UEFA somewhat levels the playing field for a lot of PL clubs and having 100M to spend with your annual turnover of 70m isnt going to be of any use.

Live within our means, grow slowly, steadily. They want to follow Jacks business plan of an experienced manager (of their choosing) and looking at players with abilities, not price tags and after a crash course in Rovers recent history, not the precied version given to them by Kentaro when they were first looking to buy!

Its already been mentioned that B. Rao ALREADY PUT 49 MIL in a bank for Rovers but put the cash on hold until their position was clarified, this is being finaced by the family as its their only chance otherwise they will be branded as indian givers (no pun intended) and to a large extent, liars. They have a global reputation to consider in all this, they wont want that damanged in any way, shape or form!

roversinsider Blackburn Rovers Spy

RAO DEPOSIT...£49m WAS deposited into the account and swiftly removed when it became apparent a marquee signing was unrealistic #Rovers

Where is the money now? If that money was still there why on earth would Barclays tell them to pay up a 18 million loan?

In Balaji's private account id imagine. That money is still there. The barclays thing, im led to believe, is a bit of a miscomunication gone bad. They didnt meet the repayment schedule and the bank has requested they pay it up in full now. They are already talking with 2-3 other financial institutions to solve this but Barclays, apparently anyhow, dont want the debt and want it paid. whether this is down to them being new customers as such and missing a payment or something bigger, I do not know!

Wow. That's some post!

Jesus, that'd be good. Get rid of that dork, bring in Hughes (which would suggest they are willing to back us) and give him some wonga to spend. He could also persuade Samba to stay?

Someone pinch me.

Your thoughts seconded. I"m not certain a pinch could possibily wake us up from this nightmare.

BomBom's post sounds entirely too good to be true.

By the way, it sounds like there's definitely been some sort of massive conflict between the owners and Kentaro. I have suspected for a while now that nicko had his contacts with Kentaro and their agents (including Steve Kean) since he has defended both JA and Steve in the past, but has been less complimentary to Venky's. The conflicting stories that are now coming out suggests to me that some people are getting Kentaro's side of the story, and others are getting Venky's side of the story. So it will be interesting to see what develops.

I could be wrong, but I have a feeling that's what's going on right now.

Desperately disappointing if we are genuinely in difficulties, and can't afford to bring in any new players of any note, thought and hoped that sad state of affairs hsd departed with the Walker Trust. It must be said that that the lack of incomings and being linked to people like Tony Warner and resigning rubbish like Benjani are consistent with the rumours about the Bank and totally inconsistent with a transfer kitty of c30m being available.

Key questions: Are the Bank suddenly demanding repayment of our longstanding c18m Bank overdraft or merely new borrowings taken out since January? Nicko seems to think it's the former and if so it's very odd and the question that has to be asked is why? Are the Bank simply uncomfortable that former key personnel have left the Club or is it the case as some have suggested that Venky's have missed or overlooked an interest repayment which has automatically triggered the demand for repayment? If the Bank are suddenly requesting repayment of the original overdraft for the former of those two reasons they are surely being completely unreasonable and the owners deserve a degree of sympathy. If however they've run up a mountain of debt since January with little tangible to show for it, or have overlooked a simple repayment deadline then both of those situations are completely avoidable.

Here's hoping the situation can be quickly resolved by the Rao's either injecting some of their own personal wealth or negotiating new credit facilities. If we are in a mess however responsibility lies fairly and squarely 100% with Rothschilds and the Walker Trust who were charged with passing the Club on into safe hands - in particular the Trustees who were of course responsible for the well being of Jack's businesses.

If this is true, and that bald-headed ###### is sent packing and Hughes will return, I will dance a merry jig.

I heard a rumour about Hughes being seen at Ewood a couple of weeks ago which I instantly dismissed at the time as wishful thinking. So the latest rumour is interesting but he certainly won't want to return unless there is plenty of money to spend and all this transfer/ Bank stuff is merely a case of a breakdown in communications.
