Kean, who has cost us at least one transfer if what I have heard is correct, namely the player stating he would rather retire than play for him!

Can you tell who the said players was,he who´d reather retire then play for kean and perhaps tell why he felt so strongly about it.?

Not yet, as that player may still come if Kean does go/is gone.

Having a hard time finding anyone to corroborate the Hughes part of this, if im honest and im starting to think that this may have been wrong, the timeframe for Kean's departure hasnt been confirmed by anyobody else ive spoken with yet either but the feeling is, that its a matter of time if it hasnt happened already

Otherwise, the Kentaro being gone and Pavone deal pulled seem to be accurate.

Chins up guys, I'm hoping, whatever happens, this is dealt with sharply so we can get back to the football itself and not all the ###### behind the scenes!

If any of this changes, ill pop it on here

Have to say that what you posted sounds very plausible, save for the Kean leaving and Hughes coming in part of it. That part sounds more like fantasy!

Of all the unconfirmed bullshit rumours this summer the "Kean out, Hughes in, player would rather retire than play for Kean" rumour is the best so far

Guys, I dont mind if its believed or not, ive said it before and ill probably say it again, Im a fan first and foremost. I'm lucky enough to get to hear bits and pieces, the odd tale here and there and last night, this landed in my lap. Not just my lap but a couple of people i talk to.

Our immediate reaction was Bullshit too, thats why its called a rumour. We didnt want to put it out but thought that if its even halfway true then it needs putting out, to me it was good news as i am not a Kean fan to be honest. Now, I cant help it if some of this doesnt add up. I personally cant see Hughes coming with the financial issues Venkys currently have but thats what I was told, from a person, who has been on the money over the last few days.

Kentaro are out, Pavone deal has been pulled and Mrs Desai is not a happy chicken at this present time. I have had the player retiring comment confirmed, to be honest, i laughed myself silly when I heard it but apparently its dead true. I wasnt told the reason why he felt like that, so i couldnt speculate, only told the story and who it was.

Believe, dont believe, whatever, not concerned one iota ;)

Wonder who the prem player is, Adebayor?

I agree. Whoever made up the story is surely capable of plucking a name out of thin air to accompany it?!!

If Kean is having a press conference then my guess is that he aint leaving.

Mark Hughes wouldn't return to Rovers because the club is in a worse condition than it was when he left us, both on and off the pitch. Makes no sense that he'd return.

Samba wants to leave to win trophies. Why would he stay at a club that won't be challenging for honours.

I'd love to be wrong but I think most of the news leaking from the club has caused us to go a bit loopy.

So why is he being linked to Arsenal and Spurs then???

Unless he's not good enough to be linked with teams that challenge for honours.....likely

Were has this original rumor come from because Fife is saying Cryer wrote it were as cryer is saying dont read into it as he is meant to be meeting with Kean later.

Hard to say pick but so many people have heard the rumour.

It does seem that there was a heated discussion between Kean and Pune on 6 July and that Kentaro and Mrs D completely fell out on 7 July.

I do not know to what extent the rumours are stemming from those events or from other specific sources.

Robbie Keane apparently.

That would be my bet as well Andy - unless you are confirmign that /

It would fit the bill, and to be honest, who woudl blame him.

A fall out was always going to be on the cards with the way things were going. So I wouldn't be surprised if that was true.

Whether it's led to his sacking, I doubt.

Arsenal CHALLENGED for 4 trophies last year.

I think you're confusing 'challenged' with 'winning'.

Just traced the rumor back to Vital football with Glen and BomBom doing the rumors with regular updates very convincing stuff. I didn't think there was a chance this was correct but after reading that I wouldn't be surprised if its on the money.

Look at the posts on the Mortgage thread. It is all there and has been since January.

I am beginning to feel optimistic for the first time in ages. Either a sale or Mrs D finally opening her eyes and ears would be better news than anything we have had for the last four weeks.

Not sure on the optimism front.. I seem to remember numerous bouts of optimism on these boards and numerous occasions where Mrs D was to step in and take control.. what have we seen from these moments.. nothing but the opposite, so far when she steps in its quickly followed by a massive reduction in transfer budget and further issues.

Venkys take over plus pledges and assurances left many optimistic.. constant promises of funds in the summer.. then the whole Venkys to pump in £50m to make us a competitive force yet more optimism.. each time they have battered us down bit by tiny bit. "One of the best budgets Rovers have had for years", "2 strikers and 2 defenders" then "1 striker and 1 midfielder".... now we are sending freebies home (even though no one wanted him the way he was treated was awful).

Mrs D stepping in has now happened on at least two occasions, Kamy posted on here "Mrs D to step in and play a more active role" next thing the A list is gone and the B list in play.. then we get "Mrs D to step in and bang some heads together" followed by even the B list getting thrown out.

Would love Venkys to sell but realistically I won't hold out much hope (due dil at this stage would at least mean new owners not arriving before end of transfer window), it took 4 years for us to find the oh so wonderful Venkys.. there is no way in my mind that they will of found a new owner of any substance.

Saying that.. the only way I could see Hughes returning is as part of a package with new owners/investors.

Not even going to consider any rumours I hear for a while.. will watch the forums but it's all getting way to silly atm while they are in charge every comment made and rumour released needs to be taken with more than a standard pinch of salt.

The fact Kean has been so quiet recently suggests something is not right in my view - interested to see what he says in his Sky interview today (wonder if we will hear the words exciting times at the club, hopefully I get a chance to speak with the player to outline the plans at the club, Champions League etc)
