Backroom DE. Posted July 11, 2011 Backroom Posted July 11, 2011 Wave was a fantastic idea, ruined by the fact they threw together a rough, buggy user interface and then let everyone try it. Not surprisingly it was then decried as horrible and people left as quick as they joined. The underlying principal is Wave was awesome (pump all your comms through a single protocol, allowing you to have a single unified interface for email, twitter, facebook, forums, chat etc) I agree that Wave as a concept was an amazing idea... the execution absolutely ruined it, though. It seemed like they tried to rush it out before it was ready to be released, and once a product is tainted as being poor from release it's very difficult to do anything about it. Strangely amateur from a company as experienced as Google. Looks like they've learnt their lessons in regards to Google+ though.
