Now, I'm one of John William's biggest fans but if he's behind the poaching of our best staff I'd feel a tad disappointed.

Why? You bring in people you know are good at their jobs. It's no different with managers buying players.

Relegation is now an absolute certainty.

The players will not be fit at the start of the new season.

What a ridiculous statement to make-fitness would be down to a number of people not just Dr.Batty.

You forgot to put IMO, otherwise Phillip it sounds like you are stating a fact (something you do often).

I might be being dumb here but are the club doctors the same as the physios?

If not there should be no impact on player fitness but potentially problems health-wise?

Lamb is going to be the main fitness coach at Villa. He was the assistant fitness coach rovers behind Mark Howard who is the main fitness coach at rovers. Kean and Howard was together at Coventry city coaching staff when Coleman was manager there.

At this moment in time imy9, Philipl is right.

The squad or first team is currently under strength from last season by FOUR players. They've no fitness coach for guidance, and no doctor.

Which asks, can the players refuse to carrying on playing for the club if it has no medical team in place for insurance and assurance purposes.

So far its a shambles at the club, with the possibility that others at the club will now begin to look seriously at their own futures, one would have thought.

Jal, Mark Howard is the main fitness coach at rovers. Lamb was bought him by Ince on the recommendation of Howard!!!

Kean will speak to Howard about who they should bring in as replacement for Lamb.

Lamb as gone to Villa for a promotion. He will be the main fitness coach at Villa

I know a couple of lads that have been "treated" privately by Dr Phil and they were not very happy with him, added to that song of the long list of injuries suffered by the likes of Grella, Reid and others he would have been responsible for, maybe it's not bad news.

Just because something happens under Venky's ownership doesn't make it a bad thing, and I am not their biggest fan by any stretch of the imagination.

The automatic know it all scare mongering is shameful at times on here.

Didn't realise Adrian Lamb was leaving too, very highly rated.

I didn't either. When researching the Phil Batty story I noticed not one but two people had been removed from the club's official backroom page (comparing it to the google cache version), so when I spotted who, a bit more googling led me to see that Villa's official twitter feed welcomed him on the 2nd July.

Shut up. Based on what exactly? I've never known anyone enjoy the role of Harbinger of Doom as much as you, and there are some serious rivals for the post on this board!

I have to admit that includes a close family member, but then he's (the family member, not Dr. Batty) an overweight retired guy who ran marathons despite a dodgy hip and beer gut (and should know better), not a premiership footballer, so it could be an area of expertise thing..

Maybe but somebody did forecast death by a thousand cuts way back in mid winter... I share their opinion.

Presumably we'll be getting Indian doctors in as replacements who in my experience are very good.

Am I allowed to say that ?

Bit dodgy ground there jim. If you'd come out and said 'English doctors are best' the pack would be tearing you to pieces now.

Nobody's saying philipl can't have an opinion, or say that he thinks something will happen, but to say something is an absolute certainty that we won't know for sure for under a year is frankly ludicrous.

Might be wrong here but didn't Batty bring Fevre with him from Manure (both instigated by Kidd).

Will Dave Fevre be the next to go ?

I understand both City and United use the sports' Medicine Consultants, including a Gen. Physician, at The Bridgewater Hospital who are supposedly 'top notch'. Not too sure where Batty will fit-in.

Feel free to mentioned your views of the medical profession, just don't let it turn into an episode of Mind Your Language*

*(for the kids & non-brits amongst you, it was a 70s TV show that highlights perfectly how what is socially acceptable has changed over 35 years, it's no longer acceptable to have prime time sitcoms who main gag is "laugh at the chap with the funny accent and other racial stereotypes - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mind_Your_Language http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JGv2AqiSOwQ)

I can't agree with that, not with Norwich, QPR, Swansea, West Brom, Wolves, Bolton, Wigan, Stoke, Fulham etc all involved. With the right manager our current squad alone finishes above or very close to all of these.

However the rollercoaster continues.

Staff may well be leaving for a new challenge, for increased pay, for a change of location, for a new career path, to rejoin old work colleagues, or for any number of personal or family reasons.

These reasons however may also include problems at their current place of work, which may not be enjoyable or fulfilling anymore, as career paths alter, little makes sense and valued colleagues leave.

Football is however a hugely transient work-place and people come and go at all levels frequently, especially in summer-time, so natural order and timing may also be playing a part.

Whatever the reasons, there have been way too many changes, executed way too quickly. It is not helpful when running any business. New staff take time to get up to speed and unit efficiency suffers. The complete opposite would have made perfect business and football sense as the new owners bedded in, had a look round and learnt the industry for 12 months or so. Amazingly they did not realise our fans would have shown patience and given them that lee-way, we just wanted to be proud of our new owners and be able to follow our team and understand longer term plans and strategy.

It has all become a bit of a joke, but there is little we can do. I am therefore reminding myself that I have a lot of confidence in our players at this level. With the right man guiding them we can be a match for anyone, especially at home and remaining in the PL is all that matters until things make sense again and settle down.

Losing one of your fitness coaches isn't great at this stage of the season when that's what it's all about. Can any of the other coaches slip in and take over, no not really as it's a hole different ball game to what they know, football coaching. Howards work load will have doubled and splitting the group now just became a nightmare for fitness work as it's a specialised area of knowledge. One can only hope they have someone lined up to walk straight in and alleviate Howards now very high work load. Can we assume that one of the academy fitness coaches will be taking over the role until another joins?

Will the players be as fit as they could be with two working on them? Doubtful as one most likely looked after one area IE strength and rehab, with the other focused on endurance. That's no reflection on Mark's ability as fitness is key in this league and his job just became very difficult.

Lets just hope they can be made fit enough to cover the losses of Jones & Jones, otherwise Samba's going to under pressure. Otherwise regardless of perceived strength of opposition, we will struggle as we currently are next season.

Think you're wrong there, Glenn.

He's been treating Dunn for years!
