Why do you care if people are takin the ###### out of us? Fans always take the ###### when something doesn't go to plan. IMO you're being a little precious regarding what people think.

Well it just shows you're wrong about quite a few things then. I'm being a LOT precious about the WHOLE situation. The reason being that we're all being taken for a ride, and our club is going down the pan, fast.

Who cares if columnists stick the boot in? It is a great thing to be linked to good players, but at some point we actually have to SIGN good players. If we can bring in one or two of the exciting young players we have been linked with then rival supporters and journalists can say whatever they like. Honda seems one of the least likely of all of the players we have been 'interested' in, but you never know. If we put in a bid there is a chance that he may want to leave Russia and may jump at the chance to come to the Premier League. It's worth a shot. Very good player, obvious marketing advantages and is somewhat realistic.

The problem is that we won't bid, probably have no real interest and will end up signing someone on a free instead.

That's actually what I was saying.

But we aren't actually going to sign any good players.

To be repeatedly linked to them, and for the owners to talk it up, and then not deliver, is taking the ****.

Blackburn to beat off Man City and Liverpool for CSKA playmaker

Reports suggest Blackburn Rovers have tabled a £7m bid for Keisuke Honda

Blackburn to beat off Man City and Liverpool for CSKA playmaker

Kenny Dalglish’s plan to turn Liverpool into a British force is coming along nicely, but the Scot still has eyes on foreign talents.

Liverpool, Manchester City and Blackburn Rovers are all in the chase for CSKA Moscow attacker Keisuke Honda, although it seems Blackburn are leading the chase with reports suggesting a bid has been tabled.

It would be a major coup for Blackburn and their new owners if they are to beat Liverpool and Manchester City to the signing of Honda, and while CSKA have been fending off offers for the player for months, Honda has asked that they listen to Blackburn’s.

Honda has had a troubled start to the Russian season despite his club sitting four points clear at the top of the league, and the Japanese international has told the Russian media that he wants to move on.

The 25-year-old was influential in helping Japan reach the last 16 of the 2010 World Cup and his creativity plus his ability to chip in with the odd goal would be a huge asset to Blackburn.

Back in January Honda suggested that if he were to leave CSKA, he would rather it were for Spain.

Atletico Madrid have constantly been linked with a move for Honda and it is reports in Spain that suggest Blackburn have tabled a bid worth around £7m.

That seems unlikely to be enough for CSKA to depart with their midfielder but Blackburn have played their hand and they are willing to negotiate.

Figures of £12m have been bandied about in the press but it is believed CSKA are looking for a figure in the region of £8m to land Honda, and Ewood Park could well be the stage for Honda next season.

Henry Winter is the best of a bad bunch for Rovers - everyone else does stick the boot in at some point.

Interesting stats on talksport today; since 2006 the highest spends per club have been:

1 - Manchester City £476m

2 - Spurs £285m

3 - Chelsea £199m

Shows how the gulf in spending power doesn't it.

Honda is probably linked due to the fact we play in the Asia cup next week.

The article sort of contradicts everything we have heard by the ITK and Nicko somewhat over the last couple of weeks.

Time will tell who is being fed the BS.

I think they are trying to find out who the mole is. Telling one person one thing and someone else another and then seeing what story comes out

Honda will not come 13% income tax in Russia. I will leave you do the maths

Do you seriously think with all the legal loopholes that players in this country pay the massive tax/ NI rates??

They put money direct into EFRBS accounts to get around the NI 12.8% or whatever it is to start with.

They then usually earn more here anyway to compensate for the difference. Honda in the prem would get MASSIVE increases in sponsorship deals for himself from Asia too.

You do know philipl was joking when he said you could be a financial adviser?

Clampdown on high earners' EFRBS and EBTs

Finally some positive news for #Rovers fans, £8m offer for Honda accepted by #CSKA, owners are finally trusting the manager with transfers.
Honda will fly out next week to discuss personal terms with his agent, and if that goes well a medical will soon follow.

From InTheKnowAgent on Twitter. I am going to stick my neck out here and say, he must be in the know if he has it in his username :tu:
