So just to clarify, as predicted a few days ago by someone (sorry, not sure who) Kalinic would be sold to help fund a substantial move for a midfielder and striker? This is just getting more and more worrying by the day.

If we replace Raul on a free with the Kalinic money then that's sheer utter madness

Spot on with the burning house analogy. Too many people convincing themselves everything will be alright, did anyone see that "How to buy a football club" documentary the other night? Reeks of the Venkys takeover "release a statement to the fans and tell them were gonna invest X amount of money". Venkys are slowly but surely stripping us of our assets and then next thing you know a big For Sale sign outside Ewood with no buyers to be seen due to the shody running of our club and players not fit to play in the championship!!

I agree that some points in the documentary could point to Venkys.

However I think a key factor for it NOT being the case is

1. We all know who owns the club. They are VERY visible. They guys in C4 show was hidden behind a fund.

2. C4 wanted to find clubs in Championship, take them up, increasy value and then sell.

3. They identified clubs in big cities, who could attract bug crowds, then sell

4. They were aiming to earn money directly from the club. Venkys want to earn money, but from using Rovers as a marketing tool. For that to work, Rovers must be successful.

Anyway. This should have it's own thread, if it doesn't already.

True True but the frustrating thing is these lads aint even pretending to know about football, never in my wildest nightmare would i have thought the club would be in the hands of such jokes spinning lie after lie and dumping some spud in the managers seat who couldnt attract his own granny to the club nevermind a half decent player with a shred of ambition!

Anyway off the point i know, if Kean had any sense he would offload

Whats Givet done wrong other then win players player 2010 season and been decent cover at CB and LB for only 3.5 million.

This is basically an impossible situation for Venky's. If they don't spend money, they get criticised, if they do, they get 20 questions about where the money has come from.

People asked them to speak more to the fans, they did, and the statement about transfers was heavily scrutinised.

Who to believe eh?

Thing is, this isnt a new situation. Williams and the trust were constantly lambasted for selling players and no reinvesting.. We all remember vinjay don't we?

That's the thing about subjective discussions, nobody can be wrong or right. I just wish a few posters would be less extreme one way or another!

If I were advising venkys, I would suggest to them to forget talking to anybody, keep the fans and the press in the dark. The glazers are an example of how to work PR... Just stay away from the tossers with microphones!

Hes a liability for me, anytime he comes up against a bit of pace he looks scared to death! Would love to see stevie warnock back in the left back slot...again a move that makes alot of sense so defo wont happen! oh and call me controversial but wouldnt mind seeing the back of nelson either...

Yeah, maybe not.

Maybe KEEP Givet as he's a top option to have and will be our starting LB/CB next season. Keep Dunn as he's a local hero and all round top lad. Keep Roberts as he's been somewhat reinvigorated with Kean and I'm interested to see how he comes on this season. His efforts looked laboured under Big Sam, but he looked passionate at the end of the season... The saucy bar steward.

I honestly don't think we'll find buyers for Andrews, Goulon or Diouf. At all. Let's hope Andrews does get a move sharpish.

Oh, wow! You've done it twice! I'm pretty certain Nelsen is being groomed for a coaching/backroom role when he does hang up his boots. Getting rid of him is daft; nobody would pay anything worthwhile for him. Oh and he's an inspirational figure which, if we're planning on drafting up the youths this year, will go a very long way regarding their development.

You've made a cracking start to your posting on here, though. Very insightful.
