I'm actually starting to quite like Balaji. His transfer targets just seem mental.

I'm thinking of getting myself a marquee girlfriend. Might as well try for Cheryl Cole and Kelly Brook before settling for fat Brenda from the chippy.

Just out of interest, what papers does he write for?

In the interests of privacy, I won't disclose that. I did loads of leg work trying to work out how to get him him PA accredited and when I mentioned it pointed out he already had a press pass :D

Raul and Milito - wow if that happens, I mean wow !

That would be ridiculous and beyond our dreams at the end of last season if we had those two in our team !

does anyone know if Petrovics WP has been appealed and when we expect to hear back ? (nicko mentioned he hadn`t played enough international gamnes so an appeal was likely)

petrovic permit hearing is next week, the official reporter from the rovers website told me this last night

Whilst you're having a good run at the moment, it's a bit harsh to say to say these are your links (certainly Raul and Podolski Kamy told me about a couple of days before they were mentioned on here). I think the difference is you admit you have one source (and given some pretty big hints as to who it is, which I'm sure will come back to haunt you) and are posting everything here as soon as you get it.

Not going to get involved in the pissing competition, but can I just add that Zac certainly doesn’t post his news as soon as he gets it, in fact he knew about Raul and Podolski almost a week before they came out on here, he also told me about Milito last weekend.

He winds people up the wrong way with some of his posts, me included, but that shouldn’t detract from the stuff he knows, some of which has been claimed by others, some of which is poked fun at by fellow posters.

To the posters who don't have contacts, its good to have the likes of Kamy, Zac, Nicko etc on the site for sure.

i like having people like kamy, zac and nicko on here and totally respect there inside knowledge but if it affects us signing the player by posting the players name I rather not know untill the player is holding up the famous blue and white half's

fully agree with you, better we sign quality without anyone knowing who until its confirmed so we don't lose out, I think thats was the case on Piatti and Witsel.

I also think the likes of Roversinsider will provide a lot of false/fake names like he did in the Goodwillie situation when he listed 30 transfer targets and two hours later we bid for Goodwillie who was not even on his list of A,B,C,D and E lists  .

Keep up the good work Roversinsider.

Based on the system it appears we are going to be playing next season, we're only a few signings away from having a solid squad, i.e. 2 players for each position, supplemented with some youth players.

I know some people are arguing that 6/7 have left the club and that we need to bring in as many signings but our squad was over-inflated last season, albeit with a lot of average players.

(Robinson/Bunn)

(Salgado/Emerton) (Nelsen/Hanley) (Samba/*1) (Givet/Olsson)

(Petrovic/Grella) (N'Zonzi/Pedersen)

(Hoilett/*2) (Formica/Dunn) (Rochina/*3)

(Roberts/Goodwillie/*4)

Youngsters: Lowe, Henley, Aley, Morris, Blackman, Cotton, etc.

To Go: Andrews, Diouf, Linganzi, Goulon(?).

1) Defender - Mongongu? or Full-Back to allow Givet to revert to the centre.

2 & 3) Vierinha? and Park Chu-Young?

4) Striker - anybody capable of 15+ goals a season!

Kamy on the other hand, being a pro journalist, has dozens of sources, trusts none of the explicitly and has to check out each and every lead. He seems to spend half his life on the phone to agents, PR agents, former players, other journos etc checking the stories. Which is why he's sometime beaten to the punch.

That said, we're always looking for fresh ideas on the podcast, so if you think you've got enough to talk about for an hour, drop me a PM.

that has to be the most condescending thing i have ever read!

so i only have 1 source.. ??? you seem to know a lot about me, glenn. :P

my point to kamy wasnt a criticism.. and im sure he didnt need you to defend him! ;)

That squad isn't that good at all really. Central midfield especially when you only have N'Zonzi that can play there, Pedersen can't, Grella is a crock and Petrovic might not even get his permit/sign. Roberts won't score more than 5 goals a season so a lot of pressure on Goodwillie, can he play as a lone striker? I have my doubts.

It means theres nothing in it.. So far we've heard piatti, podolski, honda etc.. All denied by cryer, all turned out we didnt bid for..Cryer said there were legs in mongongu, petrovic n goodwillie stories and what do you know there was.

The likes of zac n nicko feed us 5 to 6 names a week and as of yet hit percentage iz ZERO.

Even when goodwillies medical didnt happen alk the insiders reasons were well off the mark.

Agree with this. That team looks very lightweight especially if we lose Samba. A lot of work still needed to be done. Such a shame we started so late. Still need at least one centre-back and a proven goal-scorer. Ideally a left-back.Thats assuming the Petrovic deal goes through.

A Guardian review a few days ago has us finishing 19th and that's from a neutral.Things have not become bright just because we've signed 2 players we hope will be OK.

Agreed without Andrews bolstering midfield it does look a little short of creativity.

maybe we can get 'the axe' back, to spray balls around like pirlo ??:P

we have inquired about a highly rated midfielder.. but his club want too much for him.

maybe kamy knows who that is! :P

i have nothing against kamy. i like the guy. he's good at what he does and i value his input.

I like your analysis. :tu:

I also agree with those who believe the above is a bit light weight. Whether it is significantly strengthened depends on who is purchased to fill in for your players 1-4.

And Grella, MGP and Dunn cannot be relied upon. In my opinion, Grella is prone to injury, Dunn struggles with fitness, and MGP is inconsistent.

And if Samba goes we need a 5 more players, not 4.

I am very uncomfortable with our current squad composition and manager, especially considering how close we are to game day. If we are to break into the top 10 this season, we still need significant improvement.

As it stands, the only real positives we have going into the new season are Formica and Rochina, two players who the neutrals will know nothing about. Assuming Hoilett can get fit, then those three will play a massive role for the first half of the season at least.

At the back end of last season we only had one real goal threat in Hoilett so if Formica and Rochina can step up then you'd assume that we will create more than we did last season.

Goodwillie is promising but we still need a first choice striker who we can rely on to score goals. If we add that plus Petrovic, Veirinha and a solid centre back (2 if Samba leaves) then I reckon we stand a decent chance of having a reasonable season.

My concern is that we may have left our transfer dealings too late into the window. The desire to bring decent players in is clearly there, and if one of the proposed moves for a big name player (Raul, Milito etc) can be pulled off then I would genuinely feel that the top 10 isn't too far away.

Their heart is in the right place as far as Venky's is concerned, but whether they can get all this business done before 1st September is now the question.

Why all the cryptic messages all the time lads? why not say nothing until you can divulge the info rather than post messages about "highly rated midfielders" and "established goalscorers" yada yada yada but i cant tell you until you jump through a few more hoops and in the end we may or may not have bid? Not looking for grief but wearing a bit old and there is lots of guilty parties...

There seems to be a lot of point scoring on this page as to who knows more than whom. We are all Rovers fans, so if you know a potential target, is it not possible to share it with us all? It's not like we can scupper potential moves, as I can't imagine Diego Milito reads this thinking "certain members of the BRFCS messageboard don't want me there so I'm not going".
