The thing about people saying things like:-

He is good but isn't worth that

We shouldn't be paying him that much

He is too old

To be honest I couldn't care less on a Saturday afternoon at 15:20 when old man Raul has just banged in a hatrick. The last thing I am thinking is "he should have scored a hatrick on 80k a week" or "Why did he have to do that - now we have to give him an extra goal bonus"

We need more numbers in the door and quality at that - as long as Venkys are keeping the payments up and what not I am not bothered what people are on.

Bring on next week and rain or shine Kiss the Rose and stand by the guys that we do have.

(oh and why do people have to bang on about Avatars in a transfer thread? )

Topman and Iceman's avatars are actually the only reasons I come on this board anymore...

Really like the Goodwillie move he should have an easier transition to english football than say Kalinic, and I'd like to see him and Rochina paired upfront in the future.

You must be desperate.

If we're signing a big player they're going to cost big money. Simple as. It's not our money...it's Venky's money. If they don't spend it on a 'marquee' then it ain't getting spent on other players.

Besides, they'll hopefully perform to their worth, will help younger players no end, may make the club more attractive to other players, stop us being a laughing stock regarding the marquee signing if we do get someone and give Venkys their much loved publicity.

Stop moaning.

No way should we pay Milito those wages. He already has a recent injury history which is a worry. He is 32 years old, never played in the PL. Too much of a risk. Next!

why ? if he bangs the ball in the back of the net every weekend, then he is worth it surely ? maybe he is part of the plans for the Rovers brand and development that Venkys have in mind for us.

If we are trying to move up the table and attract higher calibre players to our team - having the like sof Raul an dMilito are surely greta pulling factors.

Personally, I am not bothered what wages we pay to players as long as they do the business, its not like we are paying their wages is it ? these ones are coming from Balj so why people get strung up on it !

We don`t run the club, we support it with passion

Indeed. If the "lads" want to look at plastic breasts on young women why not type go elsewhere to get their sad thrills.

Why dont you go elsewhere instead of ###### up the transfer thread with your off topic ranting?

Back on topic, Really hope we can get Vieirinha in he looks class, Still very worried about defence and strikers though.

We have a really vulnerable economy. We have to have some kind of wage cap and paying 115 pw to a 32 year old is not the way forward no matter how you see it.

I see your point of view buddy, just don`t share it - if they bang the goals in, the benefits outweight the wages, the flip side to that is if they don`t bang the goals in, then its a massive balls up on our vulnerable economy. In my simple mind, only time will tell on that one, IF we sign anyone of that calibre on those wages

No problem with a high wage player if that's what it takes, but under our model surely we would opt for someone who hasn't quite hit their peak rather than someone who has just passed theirs, purely for resale purposes. Like a Goodwillie but on a bigger scale. We will always struggle to get quality 25-30 year olds in their prime at Blackburn. There are downsides to a too young player but there is always resale value, look at Kalinic.

Well I've been here for over a decade and you've been here ten minutes and actually someone else raised the avatar issue.

Children, women and people offended by this stuff come on here to discuss transfer activity, and not to be confronted with this kind of garbage.

Well there is one other advantage.

Once Big Chris gets wind of those wages, he won't be going anywhere.

Jesus when will some of you stop moaning, if you go for top players (and these guys are if they come to little Blackburn)you have to pay the wages, and if our owners want to do that then great, what;s the alternative relegation fights every week.

For months the Venky's have been abused by people on every Rovers site, now they are trying to do something positive, and that is bring real high class players they still get the abuse, as some have said maybe Samba will have second thoughts, the grass is not always greener, who has left Blackburn and been a roaring success really only Shearer for me.

So just chill out, let our owners do their bit, see if they can get the exciting players in, you never know we might just leave the ground on a Saturday call in the Ewood arms for a pint on the way home to discuss the match and be bloody happy for a change. :rover: :rover:

If Balaji is prepared to pay for this out of his own pocket - then we should be all over it. We go to football to escape the troubles of the world for 90 minutes. For those 90 minutes - the world economy, debt etc don't matter. It'd be nice to have something to smile about for those 90 minutes - and a big name forward firing in the goals would do nicely. I'm not suggesting risking the future of the club - but a goalscorer could be the difference between us finishing 20th and 8th. The league is that tight. Is it worth 800k a place or something?

Now this is the one I dont get, a young under 21 international who has performed well in the Scottish Premier League is sold to Dundee United, Myles Anderson, who plays the same position gets a Rovers contract after 2 mins as sub when Aberdeen were winning 5 - 0 and failed to even make the bench on a few occassions!!

Somebody explain, if we needed a player for cover there, Gunning was the man, instead we have Anderson!!

What is happening?

I agree totally with your post and I wasnt aware that Balaji is prepared to pay this from his own pocket. Then I say god!

About the vulnerability in the economy I wasnt talking macro, but Rovers. Considering the happenings at other clubs such as Portsmouth , Leeds we see how fast things can change.

You're getting carried away again

Carried away?

You answer the question, I will consider your answer respectfully, Carried away is certainly not an answer!

If you dont think my question is pertinant, you know little about football.

Absolutely spot on.

Gunning 'looks' like a footballer unlike Anderson who, IMO, wears Teflon boots and is so cumbersome.

This is not being paranoid but merely realistic. As I said earlier, IMO, Anderson would not have been offered terms anywhere in the Football League let alone the PL.

IMO, one very, very poor decision and the other a complete nonsense.
