Torgeir Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 I don't get the realistic part.. Malaga are one of the up and coming teams in Europe with good management, very very rich ownership (ManC level) and a limited number of strikers atm.. I really don't get why they would sell their top young asset and why he would think we are a step up. Minimum fee release clause, it might not be up to them. I agree that he's very realistic, but dreams can come true.

joey_big_nose Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 I'm surprised that Diouf is only earning that much (expected it to be alot more) and I am equally surprised that Kalinic is earning 30k (thought it'd be much less) I'm not convinced these are correct... Agreed - I can't see how Diouf is on less than 40k+ after his transfer history. Kalinic on 30k is very odd because I don't think we had any real competition for him....
Hughesy Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 Good to see we are trying to clear the deadwood - no negativity in that. As for the list being a breach of data protection etc, its similar to what other clubs have done in the past and they usually deny the info is from them and instead some agent not working on behalf of the club. Hope to see some serious transfer action over the next 5 days down at Ewood.

goodwillie_style Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 its alright getting rid of the deadwood, but we are going to be seriously lacking numbers this season, would love to know how many players we have shipped out now with only one coming in, we must have the weakest squad for numbers in the premiership now, we need to get moving and moving quickly before its to late, just imagine if we have to play any of these players in the coming weeks if someone gets injured and no back up , would you play your heart out for the club knowing your not wanted

And we are going to make a signing a day between now and next Saturday. And they will all be ready to play against Wolves And they will play really really well and do pretty football and score gazillions of goals And we will have a great season Sleep tight, sweet dreams Hughesy. PS Don't go having nasty nightmares about the witch of Pune really meaning what she says about making a cost saving of £120k per week from the wages bill
Veevs Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 same situation as sturridge at chelsea , the club prefers the bigger names to sell shirts, but we all know sturridge is good enough, rondon similar age but the new owners want big names at any cost, that leaves rondon not getting a start and spending more time on the bench, young players just want to play ,we can give him that opportunity Not the same as Man City at all, they are an extremely well run club and not signing the huge names but signing appropriate names.

philipl Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 lol you make me laugh you sure your a rovers fan im starting to doubt it First memories of seeing a Rovers crowd 1959/60 season. And you?

philipl Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 You can play out your usual apocalptic scenario but the fact remains...they're not wanted, they weren't regulars last season (far from it) and they're leaching us of half a million pounds a month! I know the wage costs are obscene but try writing down a first eleven and seven subs with those four gone and only Petrovic and Vierinha added- and as things stand neither of those are actually signed are they? And please don't give me guff that we will sign more players as the message could well be about an austerity drive given the way Kentaro blew Rovers' money away when they were in charge of the day to day running of the club.
Fife Rover Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 its alright getting rid of the deadwood, but we are going to be seriously lacking numbers this season, would love to know how many players we have shipped out now with only one coming in, we must have the weakest squad for numbers in the premiership now, we need to get moving and moving quickly before its to late, just imagine if we have to play any of these players in the coming weeks if someone gets injured and no back up , would you play your heart out for the club knowing your not wanted In that situation I would play my heart out just to show any scouts or visiting managers that I have real talent and am available at a bargain price. Any other approach would be counter productive for me.
Wing Wizard Windy Miller Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 First memories of seeing a Rovers crowd 1959/60 season. And you? Sorry to have a pop but there is nothing more annoying than fans saying - "I saw my first game in 1960" or "Where were you at Bury in 1983?" A fan is a fan - regardless of age!
philipl Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 where you sat in the away end Now can you work out why your answer is so funny?

As much as I like disagreeing with you I can't in this instance. That it's so hard to get rid of these players prove how overpaid they really are too. I would offload sicknote Grella but until we have more depth I think keeping Keith and Diouf is the most sensible thing to do - they can do a job from the bench if nothing else. Problem is Diouf was badly mis-managed by Kean before leaving for Rangers after being one of our steadiest performers.
roverandout Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 another day goes by and STILL no effing striker!!! (goodwillie not counted)
chris Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 No seats? I was not born until 1983 so I lose too lol
deryck guyler's spoon Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 another day goes by and STILL no effing striker!!! (goodwillie not counted) Another quality post. Well done.
Kai Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 Agreed - I can't see how Diouf is on less than 40k+ after his transfer history. Kalinic on 30k is very odd because I don't think we had any real competition for him.... I'm a little surprised by the wages of Diouf and Grella - thought they were both on around £40k p/w. Kalinic was already well known to be on about £30k p/w - I think Hadjuk Split revealed it in an article (in croatian currency and someone here converted/guesstimated it over to be around £30kp/w). We had a little bit of competition for Kalinic from Portsmouth at the time - they were chucking around a fair old bit of money (that was non-existent) and also we had to almost snatch him from them so I guess we had to move quickly and probably overpaid a touch.
donnermeat Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 another day goes by and STILL no effing striker!!! (goodwillie not counted) Do football clubs do any business on Sundays?
Torgeir Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 I think Glen said yesterday that he expected no progress to be made during the weekend as it seems nobody around Rovers is working. Hopefully progress on the young striker target can be made during this week.
roverandout Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 your right donner, sometimes my reactions are o.t.t but just my frustration in nothing ever happening.
donnermeat Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 your right donner, sometimes my reactions are o.t.t but just my frustration in nothing ever happening. Yeh I think we are all frustrated, but you're giving people ammunition to flame you.
