Thought EHD was our best player in the first third of last season.

Totally agree. We have little enough quality at the moment and really can't afford to be parting with players like EHD until we bring in some decent replacements. Sadly, I think Kean has totally mishandled him and so bridges are burnt in that direction. Finding a club who will pay his wages won't be easy and having shown our cards in terms of what he is paid and what we want is only going to make it more difficult. Come 31 August and these players are still on the books, still drawing wages, but not having a part to play, do we run around offering cut price deals? I suspect any interested clubs will now wait until deadline day before coming in for these players. I just hope that new signings are able to arrive before we have to unload the unwanted.

Spot on, my backside.

Okay, Grella has never been fit long enough to make an impact. But Diouf, like or loathe him, is an excellent footballer. He's been badly mis-managed by Kean since the QPR cup-tie. But I would never, ever question his motivation or effort on the pitch.

If you are suffering from Acne on your arse, there are a few ways of limiting that :-) I'm not sure this MB will help though...

Aside from that, you've mocked your own sentence reference Grella, he is made of fibre glass and as others have quite correctly stated, he's also very average (And I'm being kind) and he's not a patch on the Zonz or I'll bet good money, Petrovic either, I'd like to see JJ back or another loan in this area, but we'll see.

And as for Diouf, I agree on the footballing side, not to the same extent, he has not been "Excellent" since imploding at Liverpool, his behaviour, transfer and track record speaks volumes about the player and not the manager, and not Kean's management thereof, maybe the owners have said they don't want him in our plans, they are allowed to do it, after all, I actually agree with them on this point, he's too big a risk and does not bring enough to the team, he is past his best before date.

p.s. Any player that goes AWOL loses the moral high ground and therefore respect, lets move on can we?

Was that anything to do with who he was playing for?

He doesnt seem to want to play under Kean, and for me I see no point in keeping a player who feels this way.

A list of 18 players - though Petrovic has not signed as yet. Yet were allowed a squad of 25. Can you see Rovers buying 7 players before the transfer window closes. It has taken months just to buy one.

Two journos on Sky TV predicted Rovers to be relegated yesterday. One stated the club is in a mess.

We will be in a mess if Kean takes your selection and has 7 subs without a GK amongst them.;)

It's not stopped everyone trying to guess the other targets based on position alone lol.

All the LET says is we are awaiting a reply. In other news Per Mertersacker fancies playing in the prem....... Hmmm

Isn't Arsenal after Per Mertersacker? it has on SSN yesterday that Arsenal were after him.

"I would suggest that the squad is stronger than it was at this point last season already"

"I'd recommend patience still, far more positives than negatives"

What planet you on Dave.. just how are we stronger?

At the moment we will start the new season with Givet and Hanley in central defense and Roberts up front.

And what positives? We might of looked at seventy players but we have only signed one so far and until that changes we are in trouble.

My issues:

1. An employee of Rovers has either released sensitive material or left it lying it around- for Nicko to name the bloke... he has not got a job for long has he.

2. We are short on numbers that is clear however we CAN name a strong 17 man squad something you said we couldn't. Ideally I would want a strong squad of 20 with 5 youngsters, so I reckon (excluding Petrovic) we need another 4 players.

1. Nicko stated that was information being freely handed out.. more than likely it came from a club which was offered one or more of the players.

2. And can you redo that squad for day one of the season please mate.. taking into consideration those who have even trained with the squad and those who are out injured atm

the defender will be onuoha fits the venkys way young and with potential and we been tracking him for a while

would anyone take a chance on Trezeguet, he's a free agent now, just think his wages might be high

I think the whole MB would be happy with Onuaho and I also think we are just playing the waiting game on City. I hope its one year loan with option buy or we buy him straight ahead.

As how this transfer window seems to pan out (like earlier too) I think we will see a couple of signings around deadline day.

We are waiting for Roverinsider to post 30 names, A targets, B targets and C targets, then Philipl to post it on here and then a few hours later we will bid for a player not on any of the lists.

Then Nicko to claim will will not spend a penny until Kalinic is sold (even though we have spent 6 million at least) and look certain to spend more.

I have a feeling Kean might go after Upson at some point but I am just guessing, he is still free.

Probably its a player from aboard.

I would buy him straight ahead. Onuoha fits into the club philosophy of younger players and developing them.

I would except rovers to sign a striker before the Wolves game and Vieirinha sometime next week.

I would except rovers to maybe sign a striker on loan aswell before the window shuts.

Now can you work out why your answer is so funny?

No one answered this, Philip.

I can work it out, very easily.

Change is the easiest of things, especially in days gone by.

Remember, we are talking people of the calibre of Everton's turnstile manager, Leicester's marketing manager, an Indian small ads for the Indian market maker and this new Indian chap who Nicko borrowed his sales brochure from running our transfer business plus Kean whose name stinks the length and breadth of football and the chicken farmers themselves who are at best a standing joke and at worst deeply distrusted in the football world. Sadly, IMO, there is a ring of truth in what Philip says here. Even though these new individuals are no doubt 'up for the challenge', it is a huge, huge leap. You can often take 'a risk' on one but, unfortunately, we seem to be replacing key personnel who have left with ones who are perhaps less capable, savvy and certainly, experienced. As for Nicko's info. that Glover is to be replaced by the nomadic, and perhaps annonymous, Clarke, you do wonder where it is all going to end.

And are you confident that intended £120k per week saving is anything other than a straight saving if they can offload those players? I think some have missed Philip's point. Yep get rid of the deadwood, if we can, but will those savings be 'reinvested' in the team or are those monies to be used to pay, IMO, for the huge folly of using Kentaro / SEM (or even buying Neville's house). Many have stated, and we are almost certain, that our transfer sales (PJ & Niko) will not be FULLY spent in bringing-in new players.

A new season is about to dawn but at the moment there seems little room for optimism including Samba and Nelsen some way away from first team football and Hoilett still deliberating over his new contract offer (we know what's going to happen there).

It would help if our manager knew when the new season kicked-off - he seems to think we are a fortnight away !

The footballing press don't seem to share Dave's optimism! The highest place in the table predicted for us that I've seen is 16th! The Sunday Times has us 19th and the Guardian predicts we'll finish 20th!!

These are football reporters from reputable papers-------but what do they know?

Who is the striker in talks with rovers?

Norwich, QPR, Wigan, WBA, Bolton, Swansea and Wolves are all poorer sides than us....why do they predict us that low?

Sunday Times described us as "directionless" with "questions remaining about the manager"--------quote as I best remember it.

Are these the same reporters that think we play at Reebok – NOTW

Are these the same reporters that think we’ve signed Pavone – Observer

Whilst I agree things are not looking good, lets wait until after the Wolves match before we start lording the national press, after all they've always loved Blackburn Rovers haven't they ;)

The Norwegian pundits had Wolves quite high because they signed Johnsen. I wonder how much difference he will make for Wolves.

Bolton a seriously lacking a goalscorer this season.
