Exiled_Rover Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 Then they have no clue. Jason Roberts: 124 apps with 24 goals compared to Hugo Rodallega: 89 apps, 22 goals. He also has the correct attributes to be a perfect target man and doesnt whine and give away free kicks like Roberts. Considering Colombias strikers Hugo Rodallega and Radamel Falcao I would take a closer look to Jackson Martinez. 4 goals in 9 for Colombia . Still only 24. Apparently pacey striker who is good in the air. Yeah I'd make that swap in a heartbeat.

alexanders Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 Wonder if we used this list in the January window 5 playmakers for Blackburn
Kamy100 Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 Kamy, do you believe that Balaji is still looking to put his hand in his own pocket this window? To be honest not sure. Personal opinion, from what I know about Balaji, if the right opportunity (Marquee, big name player) presented itself at the right price he may go for it.
Abid6814 Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 Balaji must have caught RoversInsider tweeting at his desk. Maybe we can get updates from him using his new tweeting title RoversOutsiderlookinginside! I've learnt in my short time here to take most of what I read with a kilo of salt and remind myself we are first and foremost Rovers fans and most of what we share is opinion with the odd exception. Roll on Wolves!

That's all well and good but won't happen unless a more 'intelligent' approach is in place first. Invest money (more than the current budget) enough to get us into Europe and from there on we can possibly attract better names. Seems more like Balaji just likes to puff his chest up and claim he'll finance a marquee signing if it occurs. Milito is marquee, why doesn't he finance that move? Quack.

Lathund Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 An Aberdeen fan on another board I visit has said that there's "a lot of talk" that we've agreed a £1.5m fee for Fraser Fyvie. That's all I have on that, so does anyone know if there might be anything in that?

That's all I have on that, so does anyone know if there might be anything in that? Maybe we should have gone for him instead. From his wiki: This goal made him the youngest ever goalscorer in a Scottish Premier League match, breaking the record previously held by former Dundee United player David Goodwillie.
chris Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 @roversinsider:Removed from my position. Keep doing this to us all and the club will be permanently changed. Good luck. what does he mean? what position?
pick32 Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 Aberdeen fans defiantly seem to think its going through with Blackman heading up there on loan. Good young player with alot of potential and wouldn't cost the earth.
Halstead Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 what does he mean? what position? his role as the biggest bullshitter
joey_big_nose Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 Robinson Salgado Samba Givet Olsson Petrovic N'Zonzi Hoillett Formica Vierinha (new ST) Subs: Bunn Roberts Rochina Nelsen Dunn Pedersen Hanley Goodwillie (new CB) There you go.. squad of 20 for whoever asked. It's not ideal or champions league standard. But it aint relegation certs either. All it would take for that team to be better than last year is for Petrovic to be as effective as J Jones, and Verinha, Goodwillie and the new striker to do a better job than Pedersen, Emerton, DIouf, Kalinic, Roberts, Benjani etc. P Jones is a funny one as he played most of the first half of the season in midfield before J Jones turned up so Petrovic should (hopefully) bridge that gap. In defence where he spent most of the latter half it is highly unlikely we will find anyone who can match his performances, however Nelsen, Givet and Samba are all very good so the impact is not so massive. I'm quite confident that we will have a better team this year than last if we can get Petrovic, Vierinha and a quality striker through the door. A quality centerback as well and then we are in a good position imo. I have to say I am quite excited and optimistic!
chris Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 his role as the biggest bullshitter I have found roversinsiders letter of complaint to Rovers. Dear Mrs D How could you sack me? so I leak information every 10 minutes, some confidential and don't do any work just post of twitter, this is England not India, you need to get use to our culture, look at all the people on the BRFCS board, they are not all students. This is the end for Blackburn getting ride of me, you have just demonstrated why fans dislike you. You think them toilets are going to clean themsleves do you, you'll never replace me. And I demand my mop is returned in 7 days or I'd sue and you have to get another bank loan out just to pay me off. You will live to regret this, you think you can stop me, I have other contacts, and I still have loads of information that will obviously be useless in 24 hours and the rest is made up, but you have not see the last of me. Sincerely Roversinsider P.S. Please could I have my job back I'd take a pay cut, 'll even rat out Nicko's useless contact too
Hughesy Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 Negotiating team still working hard to get players in before the end of the transfer window. On top of Goodwillie and Petrovic (total spend £5 million) there is around £11 million left in the pot. But does that exclude the Kalinic money or not??
Kelbo Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 Maybe we should have gone for him instead. From his wiki: This goal made him the youngest ever goalscorer in a Scottish Premier League match, breaking the record previously held by former Dundee United player David Goodwillie. Missed the whole of last season with cruciate knee injury and it remains to be seen how he recovers and adapts from that, certainly he was raved about when he broke through into the first team at 16, he is small and plays in central midfield, having not seen the lad (but heard of him) I cant give an opinion, appears as though he can play a bit, really depends as to how well he comes back after injury!
booth Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 But does that exclude the Kalinic money or not?? Have they actually officially come out and said what's happened to the Jones money yet?
Rover & Out Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 I really hope we make some progress with these deals this week. We're approaching panic buy time!
Torgeir Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 Probably the same concerns as many on this messageboard. - Age - Injury history - Prize There will always be concerns. Remember Ronaldinho? Riquelme? Luis Fabiano? We won't attract Neymar, Aguero etc. now, that's what needs to be realised. Put money towards someone with the potential to become a world beater, or put it towards a general strengthening of the squad that might enable us to pick from the top drawer a few years down the line. Kamy, have you asked Venky's where the Phil Jones money has gone? Haven't we been promised that all money from sales will be reinvested in new players?
Steve Moss Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 Kamy, have you asked Venky's where the Phil Jones money has gone? Haven't we been promised that all money from sales will be reinvested in new players? Assuming payments in two parts (reported in some papers) half of Jones is 8 million and half of Kalinic is 3 million. Add the standard 5 million per window, and we have a transfer budget of around 16 million. The good news is that if they hold to the same system next summer, we should have another transfer budget of around 16 million.
broadsword Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 Has Kalinic actually gone yet because according to that Nicko story he was still being hawked around to other clubs?
goodwillie_style Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 Has Kalinic actually gone yet because according to that Nicko story he was still being hawked around to other clubs? i think its something to do with the sell on clause due to his former club and the amount instalments there willing to pay, i maybe wrong but thats what i got told was holding it up

But I think it's safe to assume that it's normal practice to split transfers into several payments. With that in mind our transfer budget should really be: £5m standard per window £6m from Kalinic £16m from Jones = £27m Added to this Kean mentioned we had a 'very healthy budget', so I assume we weren't in a position where we had to sell in order to buy. We're not a selling club remember. Unless we spend £27m or more this window we have been lied to (again), that's a fact.
Fraserkirky Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 Another 16m worth of players should see us a top 10 side next year. Exciting if true. This would be a nice list. vieirinha-4.5m Onuoha-3.5m Bendtner-8m Landsbury-Loan
