Scott18 Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 Well fancy that. It's all gone quiet Glen Mullan said the deal was coming along nicely and he might even be talking to the club already.

rovgers Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 hardly a surprise, get the feeling we going to start the season with jason, flippin, roberts up front We certainly need another striker before the window shuts but the way he played in his last league game and how he's played in the friendlies plus the likely formation only needing 1 striker, I'd rather we concentrated on getting a central defender/midfielder in before Saturday!
chaddyrovers Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 Rovers after Wolverhampton Wanderers left-back George Elokobi http://www.footybunker.com/blackburn-rovers-to-offer-4m-for-wolves-defender/9115
roverandout Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 rovgers, wish i could agree with your sentiments, but we cant go into the new season with roberts up front, hes awful, where would the goals come from? its no good having a good defence if you havent got anyone to put the ball away, i dont care how well hes done in preseason, which by the way wasnt all that impressive, he was up against a team from hong kong and a lower level spl side for goodness sake, goodwillie isnt ready to take on the pressure of scoring the goals either in my opinion.
LdnRover Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 A crusade of this nature against Rovers is surely going to destroy what small amount of credibility he has left on this message board. Who ever mentioned the 'Bunny-boiler' syndrome in an earlier post may well be spot on. I haven't been reading much on hereof late.. ..What happend to te seemingly 'Untouchable' Nicko?!
roverandout Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 kamy can you give us any kind of reasurances about a new striker? a good one at that? its getting desperate now.
A cup of beans Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 What's your problem? I've noticed you sniping at my posts, if you have a problem use the ignore facility. I did not say anything about a mystery striker. I was responding to what Glenn had put and saying that there was NOTHING imminent re a striker as no fee had been agreed. If bothered to read back, I posted on Friday that as far as I know Raul and Milito deals were not going to happen and that I believed that £3-£6 million would be spent on a striker. didnt you post last week, that rovers had a new number 1 target.. that you couldnt name him, had been sworn to secrecy and he was better than milito ?? not sniping.. just a question. i am confused ??
A cup of beans Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 Rovers after Wolverhampton Wanderers left-back George Elokobi http://www.footybunker.com/blackburn-rovers-to-offer-4m-for-wolves-defender/9115 good find, chaddy. maybe thats the mystery defender. he's no world beater.. but is solid and he would allow olsen the play on the wing. my only question is- are there better left backs out there than him ?? for 4m.. i suspect there are..
Hughesy Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 N'Doye is West Broms plan B - Available for £5.5m Wonder if this will be the striker in the end....the lad who plays in Denmark - available within Kamys reported budget
roverandout Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 dont want to be a doom and gloom merchant all the time but i hope for god's sake its not n'doye. zac if hes a left back, cant see it being him, we are after a centerback, supposedly.

BRFC1995 Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 Rovers after Wolverhampton Wanderers left-back George Elokobi http://www.footybunker.com/blackburn-rovers-to-offer-4m-for-wolves-defender/9115 the guy is appalling he was always picked up on match of the day or soccer Saturday as the unbelievably weak link in wolves defence..... Story stinks of bs but if we paid 4m for someone who is just rank bad with no redeeming aspects to his game I'd dispair. For the love of god sign a striker of note

roverandout Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 brfc1995...elekobi would fit in well with kean's transfer plans then zac do you think sambas going then?

Probably from the same source as the three we scored last time we played Wolves! I think you misunderstood I meant the prioty for this week should be defence/midfield, sorry but to paraphrase you, there's no point in having somebody put the ball away if we can't stop the opposition from scoring two against us!
BRFC1995 Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 brfc1995...elekobi would fit in well with kean's transfer plans then zac do you think sambas going then? I can actually picture kean in his office writing out the worst starting 11 ever seen, grinning, lighting a cigar and quoting Hannibal smith to jensen I think kean plans as well on transfers as he does for second halves
roverandout Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 is hoilett even fit though? 2 games are never the same, just because roberts scored againt wolves in may, doesnt mean to say he will do the same, wolves have a better defence now with the signing of johnson. Wolves attack is the weaker point in my opinion so therefore our defence shouldnt be priority and out attack should. yes and john jensen replying 'i pity the fools who are coming to watch this'
mr bishi Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 N'Doye is West Broms plan B - Available for £5.5m Wonder if this will be the striker in the end....the lad who plays in Denmark - available within Kamys reported budget Not much of a barometer of skill but he looked good against shelbourne last week
A cup of beans Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 zac do you think sambas going then? i hope not.. but i think he will. things that can stop him going are - samba doesnt fancy going spurs.. or spurs dont offer what rovers want (in terms of transfer fee and/ or player exchanges).
roverandout Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 is there any progress from spurs side? are baldy's and venkys denial of contact or enquires bullsh*t?

A cup of beans Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 is there any progress from spurs side? are baldy's and venkys denial of contact or enquires bullsh*t? spurs move in mysterious ways.. i'll leave it at that
roverandout Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 yes your right but if rovers intent on saturday would be to defend then we wouldnt be getting much value's worth. come on zac couldnt you give us a teeny bit of info on that point?
A cup of beans Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 i shouldnt need to elaborate. ALLEGEDLY.. IN MY OPINION...... they do must of their business dealing directly with player agents and put feelers out in the media - ALLEGEDLY.. IN MY OPINION..
