We certainly need another striker before the window shuts but the way he played in his last league game and how he's played in the friendlies plus the likely formation only needing 1 striker, I'd rather we concentrated on getting a central defender/midfielder in before Saturday!

rovgers, wish i could agree with your sentiments, but we cant go into the new season with roberts up front, hes awful, where would the goals come from? its no good having a good defence if you havent got anyone to put the ball away, i dont care how well hes done in preseason, which by the way wasnt all that impressive, he was up against a team from hong kong and a lower level spl side for goodness sake, goodwillie isnt ready to take on the pressure of scoring the goals either in my opinion.

A crusade of this nature against Rovers is surely going to destroy what small amount of credibility he has left on this message board. Who ever mentioned the 'Bunny-boiler' syndrome in an earlier post may well be spot on.

I did not say anything about a mystery striker. I was responding to what Glenn had put and saying that there was NOTHING imminent re a striker as no fee had been agreed. If bothered to read back, I posted on Friday that as far as I know Raul and Milito deals were not going to happen and that I believed that £3-£6 million would be spent on a striker.

didnt you post last week, that rovers had a new number 1 target.. that you couldnt name him, had been sworn to secrecy and he was better than milito ?? not sniping.. just a question.

good find, chaddy. maybe thats the mystery defender. he's no world beater.. but is solid and he would allow olsen the play on the wing.

the guy is appalling he was always picked up on match of the day or soccer Saturday as the unbelievably weak link in wolves defence..... Story stinks of bs but if we paid 4m for someone who is just rank bad with no redeeming aspects to his game I'd dispair. For the love of god sign a striker of note

I think you misunderstood I meant the prioty for this week should be defence/midfield, sorry but to paraphrase you, there's no point in having somebody put the ball away if we can't stop the opposition from scoring two against us!

Wolves attack is the weaker point in my opinion so therefore our defence shouldnt be priority and out attack should.

things that can stop him going are - samba doesnt fancy going spurs.. or spurs dont offer what rovers want (in terms of transfer fee and/ or player exchanges).

Obviously football is all about opinions but I'd rather start the Wolves game with Roberts upfront than Hanley/Givet as our central defence pairing!
