I think Bendtner is a great shout for the striker role. There's no doubting the guy has an eye for some corking goals and he never seems to get a proper run in the Arsenal team which leads to rustyness when he finally gets on the pitch. I think he's a solid 15-20 goal a season striker if he gets regular games under his belt.

Interview on SSN with him yesterday had him talking about his desire to play regularly in the first team and a lot of it what he was saying seemed to stack up with what has been said on here such as that he was waiting to here on what was going i.e He had expressed desire to join team but was waiting for their response.

The 40/1 on Bendtner to join us on SkyBet currently is looking very tempting indeed!

Itchy fingers in Malta again!

cannot seem to say anything positive-keeps finding entry points to the Venkys armoury.

Whilst the rest of us - who will be there on saturday -wait patiently and buy the LET every day(or go on-line)

and amazingly avoid posting on BRFCS.

Perhaps a new Grooby for "poster submitting most negative comments on Rovers and their business management"

What would they have said in the Bill Bancroft or spud-dealer era.

COYB ....this is football heaven compared to Jim Iley; unpaid leccy bill etc

Which parts have I dreamt up?

Why don't you address the issues raised?

And while you are at it Philipl which 'top level' indian companies are embarrassed by venkys? You know, another wild claim you made a fortnight or so ago without ever backing up your mouth AGAIN!

How many times have implied wolf without crying it this summer? <_<

IMO Nicklas Bendtner would be a very good option for the striker. He is able to play a lone target and is potentially a very good striker. I think he needs some change. The only downside is that apparently he is quite a cockney superstar.

No thanks. My Arsenal supporting friend pointed me to a thread on one of the Arsenal boards where they were slating him for not being good enough. It was like the Keef thread on here.

Anyone think the defender Kean mentioned could be Joseph Yobo?

Forgive me, I haven't trawled thru the pages, but the defender were going to sign definately isn't Bruno right? I mean is there another defender coming in as well as Bruno?

Is the midfielder we're gunna sign Petrovic? (because he technically hasn't signed yet...)

The striker we're gunna sign is Benjani?

That would fufil the 'promises' made

Forlan was not good enough for Man U

Sutton was not good enough for Chelsea

Bentley was not good enough for Arsenal

Parker was not good enough for Chelsea.

There's a big difference between Bendtner and Gibson not being good enough for Manure and Arsenal but probably being more than capable of improving our squad significantly...

Has matthew upson signed with any1 surely he could do a job for us to experience

He hasn't, and neither has Thomas Hitzelberger. Both, i would have thought, would have got clubs by now. (Not saying i want either, just thought someone would have picked em up by now)

EDIT:

Breaking News:

Sky Sports sources understand Stoke City are in talks to sign former West Ham United defender Matthew Upson. More on www.skysports.com shortly.

There is a significant difference to those players above. All of them were good enough for the team they were at beforehand.

As yet Bendtner hasn't been good enough for anyone.

Okay he's 23 and he does have potential, but so did Kalinic and apparently we can do better than him. So why don't we?

Phil, I thought Imy's post actually covered points you've previously made very well. You have been constantly negative about Anderson and Kentaro yet now they are the messiah's all of a sudden.

Ricky, please re-read my post and come back here again.

Christ on a bike yet more snipping at each other.. for gods sake we are all Rovers fans and half the posts on here are done at work in a rush..

Personally read Philipls message differently, to me it read more like Mrs D simply does not know the rule book were as Kentaro did, he certainly did not say they are the Messiahs, just simply pointed out the obvious that without advisors (be it Kentaro or whoever) with football knowledge Mrs D is stepping over the line. I would kind of agree with that statement if our main advisor/agent at the moment is a chap in Ireland who parties with footballers and not a registered agent, which as per the rule book is well not allowed.

And goodwillie_style I don't think it will be officially announced until he returns (away with national side and I think someone said he was training with his club while awaiting permit anyway), we should at least hear if he got the permit though :)

Forlan and Bentley didn't have any European success before Manu Arsenal.

Forlan was bit like Formica I think, success at home.

Maybe they are right, I seen enough in him to say he looks decent, but would want a low fee.
