Also worries me so many seem to see Petrovic as an instant starting first teamer (he only played a full 90mins 14times in his league last season).. how long has it taken young lads from abroad to settle and get games, we have seen it recently with Formica, Kalinic and Rochina.. not one of those got much game time in their first 6 months. Goodwillie is dif imo as he was a regular first team starter and not really coming from abroad.

They have already lost Vaughan and DJ though Gav. Not sure which other top players are left. Also Long was 7m, seems a bit out of our price range as it stands.

Didn't realise Long went for 7m, certainly not in tune with our buying policy then :D

£4.5m is what they quoted last night in most reports once the deal was complete

With all due respecT, Blackpool had a great season last season and it wasn't all Charlie Adams influenece, nothng wrong with looking in the lower leagues for talent.

I wouldn't say their defence had a great season though, considering they got relegated.

If it's not Phillips, and they haven't got a striker left of any quality, it must be a defender. At least that's my guess, which could be wrong, but with that idea I wouldn't want any of their defenders, nor does it seem do any other EPL clubs.

I doubt Matt Gilks would leave to be Robbo's number 2 either. He'll want to be 1st choice even at a EPL side I expect.

Why? What's wrong with looking at lower league players?

Just because they aren't foreign doesn't mean we shouldn't be looking to sign them.

I'm not saying that I don't want any lower league signings, just that I don't rate the majority Blackpool's remaining players!

Bitter Nicko will be on Radio Lancs tonight

Andy Bayes Radio Lancs: "Joining me in the studio this evening is Rovers supporter Ian Battersby and the Daily Mirror's Alan Nixon."

Just did a google then Hughesy and I keep finding 7m. Where have you seen 4.5m?

SSN said its 4.5m plus 2m in add ons last night.

Wouldn't mind a Samba/Bamba partnership this season as long as we keep the Samba part

And Derbyshire on loan?

Thats bunkum, he's going to the championship, his level also I'd say.

He is out of contract. Either going to Leicester or Notts Forest. I hope he goes to Notts Forest as I think he will play more but at Leicester he will be more of a squad player.

the people who are in the know on here - is it true about bentley coming back ??

ive not heard anything myself. hope not after his conduct when he left to go spuds.

spuds would love any1 to take him.. and if he goes rovers as part of the samba deal then theyd be delighted.

on a pure footballing basis.. i cant see where he would fit into our team.. as it stands today.

I do tend to agree, we have Rochina and Formica likely to play the supporting striker role and Petrovic as a box to box, Hoilett probably wide right and Olsson hopefully wide left, so Zac is right, our needs are slightly different now!!

i have a feeling Olsson will bu played at L/b and for me Hoillets best perfomances were on the left we he can cut in on his right foot , on that basis perhaps there is a spot on right hand side of midfield??

He'd have to move to a more central position, which I think he has the ability to do.

It could also make sense if we move Hoilett up front and play him on the right.

I think that too - especially now the vereinha (sp) move looks dead.

I still think we will get Onouha, either on loan or on a permant basis. if we are lucky, Scott Dann

Heard a few rumblings about Yobo throughout this window, and they have resurfaced twice in last couple of days from a couple of sources who have in the past been quite accurate, Especially the Goodwillie deal prior to it breaking in the Guardian,

Not had it confirmed through normal channels, but I was aware of an interest earlier in the window, I was under the impression Yobo was going to make a surprise move to Spurs this week, but this source appears to think Rovers is his destination.

Has anyone else heard anything similar?
