the longer we go without another striker the greater the chances are of us ending up with RSC either on loan or cut price panic buy about the 30th august!

Realistically now who would we all be happy with as THE striker weve been talking about since the start of the window.......

I would like on of the spurs lads Defoe or Pavylchenko.....

More likely with Keane, still theres alot worse players than Keane out there.

Cannot believe its come to this 2 days before the season!

Craig Brown took him to Aberdeen from Motherwell where Brown was Blackmans manager, Blackman didnt score in 9 games as a striker and was left out of the side for a couple of games before returning to the side in a wide position.

Just a point on Gunning, he played every game for Motherwell whilst on loan and is not viewed as a first team squad player, yet Anderson with a five minute cameo performance for Aberdeen has a squad number, strange!

Especially if Kentario are no longer in the picture. There must be something in Myles Anderson's contract that means he gets in the first team squad, maybe have to play a certain amount of matches. If Kentario have been dismissed, Why can Rovers not just shove Myles into the reserves? There must be a reason. Unless of course the man can play football - just not had his chance yet. But very strange situation all the same.

You aren't considering, like a lot of other posters on here, the emergence of other young players such as Hanley, Lowe, Morris, and Nick Blackman. And there are more that I think the staff at Rovers have high hopes for. I know people will say they're a gamble and unproven players but they are rated by the club and need to be given a chance. I'm not saying they are first team players but I'd expect Lowe and Blackman to be regulars in the matchday squad and make plenty of appearances.

Also the contribution of these young players can't be any less this season, than some of the players we've lost!

With the five new signings, I'd say we've two more squad players in Lowe and Blackman this season. Morris has a little to do yet, but could step up also.

Don't forget Adam Henley who I believe could be our next big player.

Football Manager wonderkid for a couple of years now. Bright future, not getting a chance at Liverpool. Thought he really should have stayed at Rangers.

With this £6m (providing it is there and available to spend), £3m for Raul and £2m for Yobo. The remaining £1m can be used to entice Hitzelsperger with a nice, but relatively small, signing on fee.

im starting to think RSC would be a good signinig now if the deal was right, could put his performances last year down as a blip due toe poor fitness and form.

As our no. 9? We need someone a lot more reliable than that, not only in terms of goals per game ratio but in terms of his fitness levels as well. Stay clear!

I feel for the guy, he could have been an immense player had it not been for all the injuries he's had.

If (as seems likely) we finish up missing out on our supposed main target striker, and time is running out fast I think RSC just MIGHT be a decent fall-back.

Given his very recent performances for Paraguay it shows that he has somehow discovered a bit of form (at least for his country) but which proves he has not completely lost it........ A very different situation than he showed in his loan with us last season

, and one which maybe should be questioned and explored by Steve Kean to discover whether or not he is geuinely interested in playing for us again. Obviously we would require definite evidence of his comitment to playing for us, and terms placed in his contract to ensure this.

Yes, I and others think he is one to watch!

RSC would be a waste. He had 6 months and did nothing here and has done nothing at Man City. To be fair, it is his fitness which is the issue, not his skill. But it is all the same, we need points not talented players on the treatment table.

I wish Venkys would spend the money on Crouch, Defoe or someone of that caliber. Even Raul, despite the transfer fee and high wages, would score more goals than RSC.

I think Danny Wilson might be a good acquisition on loan to cover the defense. So long as there was an agreed upon transfer fee in the contract if it suits us and him. I'd hate to have another J. Jones situation.

Just my non-expert thoughts.

Not really except Andrews and Kalinic have gone and of course Goodwillies and Petrovic have both signed for Rovers.

My problem with RSC was his heart. All too often he didn't look like he was putting everyting into it. However, i'm certain he'll be back here come September. I just hope its a loan on significantly less than 90k p/w.

The Cryer interview was dross by the way. Keane expects 3 more arrivals, no Samba bids etc.........zzzzzzzz

Is there any possible moves in the pipeline before the big kick-off?

We wish. The media keep regurgitating a quote from Kean recently about some 'active bids' out there. One of which seems to be Vieirinha, which now looks unlikely, as his club has some new owners or something. That's about it really I wish I could tell you more.
